Cop Finds Lost Little Girl on Beach: 'I Miss my Mommy'

- A sheriff's deputy in Florida was desperately trying to find a little girl who went missing on a beach. When the officer finally spotted her, the 8-year-old gave him a little wave. It took just 13 minutes to find young Josie on the beach, and her speedy discovery is something all parents can learn from. It turns out that as a precaution, Josie's mom took a photo of her daughter just after they got to the beach that day.
Taking a current picture of your kid before they go missing is actually a good idea. Now you can now tell authorities what your child looks like and what she was wearing before she disappeared.
these parents seem to lose their child often taking pictures of her wherever they go..a 8 yr old should not be unsupervised swimming in ocean...a current can pull her out or even a shark can pull her under the water...small child is appetizing to a shark like a seal is to them....parents should be arrested for child neglect
@@JustaKarenDiscoveredTheIntrnetFACTS
@@JustaKarenDiscoveredTheIntrnet idk about you but I take pictures of myself before I go out just in case I go missing, we don’t live in a safe world
True
Premonitory Pictures... a mother's/woman's intuition is no joke. But this does seem like it happens often with this family; see the way the girl gave a little creepy wave at the officer before he even stopped his vehicle? Gave me a little chill...
You could say "she's wearing purple", but that wouldn't do that outfit justice. The photo is a genius move. Put that in your parenting guides.

How about try not to lose your kids on the beach. Prevention is much better.
especially that this is the ocean That's super That's super dangerous if that kid Ends up getting swept away from the tides
And if they were looking for a purple bathing suit.. that didn't look like a bathing suit..
I'd just call it a crappy little purple mermaid suit, that was my first thought
Cop was so sweet - yay
Big friggin deal

And I thought getting lost in the shopping centre was scary
someone award that mom, that was GENIUS!! great parenting!!
If it was great parenting the little one wouldn't have been lost in the first place.
...a "GOOD PARENT" would make their children to STAY where they can SEE each other... I think this was staged.
@@ApplePie..not rly kids tend to wonder off, and she’s a much a younger kid
Award her for not watching the kid in the water hell no she should be in jail
@@ADLC.EDITZZ ty I knew someone would be smart enough to get it
Good idea taking a picture of your children at the moment in time. That's one good-looking cop. Good job, sir.
I legit was thinking the same. He is handsome.
As all parents of young children know these incidences can happen in a blink of an eye despite all precautions. I bet most parents can think of close calls due to not paying attention to their child for a split second.

@@JustaKarenDiscoveredTheIntrnetwe don't know the whole story, she might not have swim that far out
Bye speak for yourself never in my life would I allow my children out of my sight
yeah if you get black out drunk as a mommy on the beach...i bet its difficult keeping track of your daughter
Yeah so true 😢
id want a hug from him too
They were proactive enough to take a picture when they got there but not proactive in watching their child while in the ocean? Wow!
Must have dozed off. Flordia heat can get you fast, even adults.
I know, seems odd.
Right. Seems like this may have happened a time or two before.
The child doesn't look happy either
@@Xane_Dragon Yet she was honest enough to say she was not paying attention. She seems like she will do well. She took way more responsibility than the parents
I'm confused how the mom could lose her. What if the girl drowned? The parents should be paying closer attention and keep an eye on their kids.
But that means being proactive as a parent 😬. The audacity of you to say that! 😅
You gotta have an extra chromosome or something to not know how to swim.
Even if the parents didnt teach them usually they'll learn if they've been in the water enough.
That must have been so scary for the mom and the kid.
You need a hug? 🥲Bless this wonderful officer for turning this into a great day.
Mom, dad don’t focus on the picture. Focus on keeping your daughter sees.😂
This means she was even not supervised for possibility of drowning
Definitely neglectful parenting, those waves didn’t look that calm either. They just let her drift around in the ocean at 8 yrs old? 😡
yep i got 4 kids and watch them constantly in the water. drowning can happen in a second

I grew up in a family of nine we learned that if we went anywhere to watch out for one another and my parents would do a headcount whenever we were supposed to be together. So places like Chucky cheese we would run off and do our own thing mainly in groups of two to three and then regroup. Even at the beach around that age we mainly were unsupervised.
When i was 8 i always hated how my parents told not to go deep, bro i know how to swim. I don’t blame the parents, children aren’t that stupid and the girl got herself safely to the beach
👮♂️💙What a HERO. He should be given a raise
Hero SMH you people
What do you mean?
Why werent they watching her.
Her mom and dad should take more care of their child. A little girl going by herself to the sea?,
Absolutely
Seems like the parents weren’t paying attention, the child shouldn’t have gone missing in the first place. Everyone takes a pic of their kid in new outfits
Yeah exactly. The kid was swept away in the ocean. The girl was like I didn’t even notice. Uhhhh that’s insane. As a parent I can’t imagine how that could happen.
@@PsychiatricnerdI know! Like watch the child swimming, don’t take your eyes away from your child. How can a parents take off their eyes off their child/children who is in the water? I can’t do this. Can’t be too comfortable.
I love that the cop gave her a hug
Glad she’s safe. Don’t know what we would do if we couldn’t depend on technology to watch our children.
Wow, taking pics of kids is an amazingly smart idea. I will always keep that in mind.
Thank goodness she was found safe!
That’s a scary situation to be in
That HERO KNEW she needed to be hugged ! Thank you, JESUS!
Taking the photo on the day the child is lost is an amazing coincidence. If parent was so concerned, why was the child not better supervised? Something is odd in this story.
what? you think mom put that ridiculous purple body suit on her child, and told her to walk down the beach and called police, just to get more followers in facebook? how dare you!!!
That cop is a real father to her ❤❤❤
Picture would have done no good if she got pulled out to sea..always use the buddy system when swimming
Thank you Father for keeping Josie safe
She was smart enough to take a photo, but not smart enough to supervise her.
Truth is stranger than fiction
Seems like the parents did all this on purpose just to get some clout.
You can tell, look at her face when the little girl is talking. She was coached.

The little girl was crying
That's rediculous and obscene. Projecting what you would do onto others is insane and it's even more insane you would even think that way
@@everybodyfitnessinjax yes it’s giving munchausen by proxy vibes.
Don’t let your kids out of your sight for a second at the beach.
So your kid just drifts away and you don’t even notice.😂
💀
Click bait but it’s a great idea
please have children so u can stop being judgemental
@@lidiagizaw3828 I have one and I’ve never lost him on a beach
Obviously they did notice or else she wouldn't have been found so fast. 🙄 and I feel bad for the child under your "care"
wow that little girl is really well spoken!❤

thank you so much Jeff
Good work sir, glad she made it back safely ✌🏾❤️
Adorable tot, bless her. ❤😊❤
Thank GOD that this worked out really well!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Terrible parenting
Not the way I'd word it out
Smart parents. Bad attention span
@@TheyCallMeDio I agree, but I mean they could’ve multitasked and held her hand or something to keep track of her whereabouts.
At that age no child should swim alone, a parent or older sibling need to always be next to them
Great Mother. Great cop. All round good effort.
What a sweet officer to ask her if she needed a hug. So compassionate of him. Glad she was found!
This is both sweet and frightening!
She's adorable! What a great idea to take a pic. So glad she was found safe, kudos to the kind officer 💙
What a relief! So happy little one was found safe and sound.
So happy she was found and safe ❤
Great job!
I don’t let my kids out my site but around water my eye contact is 59x better
Aww the little wave 🥺
kudos to mom for the genius move of A putting her in that decidedly unique bathing suit and taking a photo I hope this becomes just commonplace to do.
Cop was so chill and calm glad she was found safe
I’m so sorry y’all had to go through that
Very very smart to take the picture before going somewhere crowded!!! Very good advice.
Her little wave broke my heart! Poor sweet girl 💜 I’m so glad she was found safe! And that officer was wonderful ❤️
Wow, that's actually brilliant, the photo thing I mean. Smart momma.
Taking the photo was a good idea. *A BETTER idea is to watch your children and keep up with them.*
Exactly.
If only we could all be on your high horse with you
A better idea would be know your place since you aren't a parent and weren't there to be lecturing them about what happened.
People don't give cops enough credit. Let's thank them all! It's a shame the dems want to defund them.
I’ve taken a picture of my child the same way when he was small keep your eyes on your kids the best you can remember somebody could put them in a duffel bag and walk away pretty damn quick
Her parents should be charged for negligence! Show can you let her go wander off AT A BEACH which can be second to none for drowning risks. Pathetic that the mother is so calm. Proves her complacency and negligence. Yet we have people celebrating this negligence.
did you even watch it?
@@tatiannasara these incels love being dramatic and judgemental
Dude…watch the video before you make dumb statements 💀
So many perfect parents in the comments.
I’m glad she was reunited with her mom
Thank God she was found quickly! I truly commend the mother for that modest bath suit . Well done!
When my older son was that age, either my husband or I was right next to him when he went into the water. Even now, as an almost 12 year old, I wouldn’t think of taking my eyes off him if we were in the water.
So heartbreaking
❤❤❤glad she is safe
That’s a great mom to take a pic before she goes and plays at the beach so smart!
Aww I can see how that can happen. Those currents can be strong!
Aww! She’s so cute !!!
mom was very smart to get that photo in case of emergency. because you truly never know.
What a smart, caring mom 👏 👏 👏
This has to be sarcasm
@cdimplesz324 must be! Cause she lost of kid which means she wasn't watching her in ty he water.
Sooo a Caring mom not watching 3+ Kids loses the Only 1 Child they have at the Beach & that's Caring 2u?? 🤨🤔
Caring? Right
So glad to finally hear a story of a lost child ends in a happy reunion.
Great idea!!
She wont lost that far if parent eyes at the kid all the time when they swim..no excuse for this mom
Please be kind, this could happen to anyone 😢
@@catherinescastle I think some people just want to see the world burn. If the UA-cam commenters had their way, every parent ever would have a life sentance in jail the moment their kid slips away from them for any reason.
let's blame the mom right
Such a clever mother!
What a good idea!
Smart momma❣️❣️❣️
Thank GOD !!!
Thank God it worked out great. Imagine what her mom and dad and Josie were all going through. Scary. Glad mom took that photo
How about Keep Your Eyes On Your Kids At All Times In The Ocean???? Sheesh!!!
Watch your child!
Thank God
Smart mom we all have a phone take a quick picture.
This could have ended terribly I’m so happy she was found safe. The Leo is a sweetheart how he asks his if she needs a hug instead of making her feel uncomfortable doing so without permission.
Thank the Lord for the officer! 👮 🌟

Glad she was found okay
That's some great Mom stuff right there! May I add mine? If you need to leave your minor child in the care of someone while traveling outside the area, compose a "Permission to Treat" Document, print, both parties sign. It includes contact information, allergies, PCP contact, etc. It should indicate the time frame that it's considered active, and that a good effort to contact you should be made prior to seeking care, unless it's a life-threatening situation. Hopefully you'll never need it, but you'll be grateful you had it if you did need it.
So easy to make way down the beach. ❤
fantastic idea!
I just read about something that happens on southern American beaches, if a kid gets lost, the person who finds them puts the kid in their shoulders and starts clapping. Then others join in; the kid up on shoulders can be seen, and the clapping attracts the parents! Great idea.
Why was that child outta her sight in the first place?
Something about this seems fishy
It's a beach. Of course it's fishy. 😂😂😂
I have always taken a picture of my kids when we go somewhere crowded. I also taught them my phone number at a very young age.
Wow that’s scary wow that sucks
How do you lose your child at a public beach???? I always stay close to my little one especially at the beach!!!! God forbid that someone would take her or that she gets swept in a current. I live near south Padre Island and this past weekend a 14yr old girl got swept away in a current... sadly she didn't make it and her body was found the next day. I hope the parents learned to keep an eye on her I just thank God she was found right away and safe 🙏.
Asking if she wanted a hug choked me up, however very brave to do these days.
Praise the Lord 🙌❤️🙏
She was left unsupervised while swimming, and could have drowned. I am so glad she is okay, and wasn’t kidnapped.
I’ve always done that for the same reason bc I’m always paranoid something will happen. People always gave me negative comments but I just disregard it and continue doing what I need to do to keep my child safe.
That mother should’ve kept an eye on her. The parents need to be charged with neglect
Frightening that’s a really good tip with summer rapidly approaching !
