The D11 pushed those rocks like they were toys!
Awesome machine
Thanks
I love these videos because they do a good job of explaining how they do certain thing's and why. It shows how much planning and work goes into these jobs. A lot of people think that mining and construction is just digging a hole and moving dirt and rock with brute force when actually there's a lot of thinking and designing to do the work as efficiently as possible.
Agreed. There is a lot of planning and teamwork that goes on
Oh yeah the Demag operator is a personal friend of mine. The fastest way to move to rocks is providing the machine can move them. Drilling and shooting would take longer and probably only be done if the rocks were connected. What happened here is part of the bottom rock broke loose and slid down. Thanks
Hi PAmining
This is what I watch big machines for, tp see them handling truly huge rocks, and show their strength@ Thanks for the upload!
Have a wonderful holiday, mrbluenun
You must have a really good reputation with these guys (or the company) to let you get up this close and for inside cab shots - especially on a working machine. Quite incredible footage!
This kind of work must be really wearing on the bucket teeth. Is there any reason why they cant blast at the rock instead, maybe a nearby housing estate or road?
At what point where any companies like we finally made a big enough machine then another company said hold my beer lol
Who are the 14 guys that disliked this? I can see just not being interested, but dislike? Must be environmentalists. Anyway, great footage! I really enjoyed watching.
The bigger dozer with the two exhaust stacks is the 11. In the video, the 11 can be seen at the beginning and pushing away both rocks.
Justin the only thing that I could see might be a problem is when he has the bucket pulling near the top with only a couple teeth, with all that pressure it could pop a piece off and come forward through the windshield! just me I guess looking at safety.
Excellent footage, I wish I was so fortunate. Keep it up. Your videos are great!
No I haven't even filmed in HD yet. Yeah it's pretty skilled work and you have to know what your doing.
That rock is somewhere between 80-100 ton ?
And what kind of rock are you all digging there ? Seem like a mix of shale and granite , Is that what you all need to move to get to the coal ?
The tracks on the D11 seem too loose. Or is this the correct tension for quarry work?
The last one was so big the 10 & 11 had to push it together to get it up the hill. Thanks
You mean the "operator" lol. I was asking if he could walk back and pull at the same time. Answer was yes.
Thanks
As the operator said "the hell with the bucket, it;s hard on the operator". You'd blow a hose before you would break the bucket.
Actually with that amout of pressure, there'd be more of a chance of a hose blowing than a rock come flying through the window lol. But you are right, that could easily happen and has happened.
The sound of hydraulic's amazing
What he's pulling/moving is a big piece of bottom rock which is made up of Pottsville conglomerate and slate
what an awsome video... keep it up dude :-)
Impressive isn't it, and almost as big as the D11
Cool video, PAmining. Where about was this video taken?
Thanks. Surface coal mine in Pennsylvania
what the difference between the r and the n
To put is briefly, more power, different engines, electronic steering clutch & braking system; a redesigned operators cab. I would recommend watching my documentary on the D11's to learn more about the tractors.
wow!
Non so ma a me sembra controproducente tenere fermo un mezzo di queste dimensioni nell'attesa che l'altro ci sposti il masso davanti, intanto il gasolio scorre a fiumi
Nearly a 100 ton rock, wow.
Jake McBride all three good operators working together and communicating to get the job done
Which one is the d11? (LOL)
