Another great countdown, Canobie I find it interesting that you’ve been on some of the world’s dizziest, most intense, gut-wrenching rides, yet swinging ships are your Achilles heel
Yep! Seems funny at first, but spinning and swinging provides a different orientation + sensation. Also the swinging is not controlled by you as the rider. Unless it's a one YOU hand operate like @ RenFest.
I went to this place in 1999 during my first trip to USA, The swinging dragon boat ride was the one ride I remember & never forgot about. At 8 years old I was so terrified on that ride, that no ride today I have ever ridden even comes close to topping it. This place sure is a park that has played a big role in the development of my big interest in theme parks & other thrill attractions. However that dragon swinging boat was the scariest ride I ever experienced physically, a record that has never been topped by any roller coaster or flat ride to this day.
I have fondness for pier and beach parks. The limited footprint makes for a creative "weaving" of the rides around and through it. Pacific has just about something for everyone. The shark themed cars on the Tilt A Whirl were a HOOT! I love the colors of the park as well. That PTC Carousel is da BOMB!
Shark Frenzy looks like it belongs in Universal Studios (Jaws) Also there’s a FEC (family entertainment center) like 30 minutes from where we live, that has a Gravitron and a Gyro Loop ride. I had constant intense flipping and inverting the entire ride. It’s a lot of fun
I was expecting West Coaster to be #1. But to be fair, I wasn't familiar with any of the other rides on the pier, so now that I've seen Gyro Loop, it makes more sense now.
I think the problem is people expect west coaster to be a thrill coaster and its just not that. its basically a steel version of a wooden scenic railway. plus being one of the few coasters on a pier makes it so much better
A small little fun park with lots to do. It's mainly so popular because it's that LA beach pier landmark so probably overrated. But not by any means bad, it's also unique to see a ferris wheel like this on a pier.
This park was frustrating to visit. I paid for parking only to find West Coaster closed for wind. Park had 3 hours until close so it should reopen, right? Well, there wasn't any wind for over 30 minutes (judging by the flags atop it) and they said it was closed for the night! At least one of the employees did a National Lampoon's Vacation style skit for me (which I posted as a short). It's ironic that the real life Wally World was where the least Grizwald-isms happened to me on my SoCal trip.
@@CanobieCoaster I suspect it was actually a staffing issue and wind was just the excuse. Given that it didn't reopen when the flags were down it wouldn't surprise me.
I love how the west coaster circles around the scrambler. 2 of my favorite types of rides
The coaster's placement is great.
I didn’t even know there were 10 rides here. It feels much smaller. Ive been here twice
It's a dense park.
my literal first thought when I clicked on this video 😂 I’ve been to the pier so many times but have never ridden any of the rides
Another great countdown, Canobie

Thanks! It's odd how I'm fine on some frisbees, but the slower ones and swinging ships can make me queasy sometimes.

I'm intrigued what the upgraded Sea Dragon will be like.
@@CanobieCoaster I sure would hope so to.
@@CanobieCoaster I sure hope the ride will continue in some form even thou the current version is apparently being removed.
So excited to go here soon!!
Enjoy!
@@CanobieCoaster thanks!

The place has a great atmosphere.
although I know you’re not a fan of brass-ring less carousels, I’m glad you mentioned the carousel, for us carousel enthusiasts!!
I think a classic carousel does a lot for a midway. The brass ringless ones just aren't the most exciting for me to personally ride.

Which FEC? I'm always on the hunt for more gyro loops.
@@CanobieCoaster Boomers Irvine. They also have batting cages, an arcade and mini golf
First! Good video!
Thanks!
Nice countdown, canobie
Thanks!

Gyro Loop ran away with the top spot for me.

The views are what carries the ride.
This coaster reminds me of the tramcar coaster at wildwood nj
Sort of similar coloring, but this has a more sprawling layout.

It definitely benefits from its fame.
My top 5 favorite coasters at the park:
5: Banshee
4: Orion
3: Mystic Timbers
2: Diamondback
1: The Beast
Nice Kings Island list.
Whoops forgot to comment this on the Kings Island video

Sorry to hear that! I visited on a pretty windy day myself and found the ride open. How windy was it?

I feel like west coaster is more of the the second star of the park its not a thrill coaster but it still is a great ride for the medium thrillseekers
It's good for what it is.
@@CanobieCoaster the three airtime pops and the forceful turn at the end make up for it tho

What?
This park is well known for any GTA player...
Sure is.
