"IDK why they dont just do a series on the old republic?'- what true star wars fans have been saying for 10 years.
sadly Old republic is no longer cannon, Disney empire came and destroyed it to legacy, The old republic is absolutly fascinating it has some of the best charactr this franshise had to offer
Maybe cause they did prequels and y'all hated them even though they were the best of star wars lmao
@@freakindamnshiki what does that have to do with anything?
A shit ton of EU stuff is back in the canon through clone wars and rebels
@@tzukishiro Because Clone Wars and rebels are in between the originals and the prequels, and that they can't "delete" what was transported to Legacy was Old repuplic and post ep 6, Clone war is still thecnically Skywalker saga, and even though EU post return of the jedi is also skywalker saga that would conflict with disney sequels, so we lost amazing character like Darth Caedus and have to deal with Kylo Ren, we lost Mara Jade and have to deal with what they did to Luke xD

no idea tho sicne i didnt really follow any of this so... ye
It was in order of release. They were kinda released backward in terms of chronology.
Yeah, the release dates might not have made sense chronologically, but it’s still entertaining. Who doesn’t like Star Wars and a good lightsaber fight in them?
Bioware and Lucasarts decided to release the cutscenes in reverse chronological order. And since this is in release order, well...
Well i guess when you go before the battle of yavin the numbers are going 1 and up ascending

General Kenobi!
The Sith Emperor mentioned in the Records isn't Palpatine, his name is Vitiate, and he's supposedly a body hopping immortal or something
His original name was Tenebrae I think (when he was in his pureblood Sith body) and yeah, he can hop between bodies. Currently in the story he should be permanently dead however unless Bioware changes it again.
@@Fucisko not to doubt bioware, but they can't top the climax of Tenebrae's (aka Valkorion's, aka Vitiate's) death...
This is double so if you played as the Jedi Knight as your first pick. Got to kill him twice.
@@kevind3974 He also dies in the Sith Warrior storyline.
He's had several names including yes Vitiate and Tenebrae as well as Valkorian whom he took over the original Valkorian's body and later had three children Arcann and Thexan (Eternal twins) and a daughter vaylin, who is featured in the Betrayed cinematic trailer I believe.
Fun fact, the female Jedi in the cinimatics is Satele Shan, Granddaughter(?) of Revan and Bastila

15:52 Here's an interesting bit. In the novelization of this fight, Darth Malgus actually couldn't outright defeat Ven Zallow, and when Zallow struck him Malgus pretended it hurt him more than it actually did, despite having a dislodged tooth, and purposefully gave an opening to Zallow. So when Zallow took the opening Malgus took the opportunity and took the Jedi Master off guard and struck him down.
But how can see that have a dislodged tooth with the respirator?
@@RealidadExplicada Zallow could having pushed the respirator into his tooth. Besides, the respirator wasn't designed to serve as armor.
@@zvonimirtomac7896 Yea but its a bit convoluted, anyway is interesting xD
Zallow lost because he did that idiotic spin that's why. Many great Jedi have fallen because of the practice of Ataru and its stupid flourishes. Malgus was stronger in every way too.
@@giorgit5252 I'm just saying how it's described. Malgus had to resort to trickery.

What's amazing is that the game came out 8 years ago, and it has some of the best storytelling thanks in large part to Bioware's team. Those guys knew how to do storylines in their games.
"Is this a taste of what's to come?"
This is but a taste of the dark side.

''add for vpn''
''i can't watch The Mandalorian cause i live in the uk''

It is not the problem to solve with VPN. It is the problem of which bank has issued your credit card and where that bank is located. @@marciusnhasty I think he's talking about pirate streams and not about credit cards and shit.
Danny0dbert No he’s talking about using a VPN to change his location ti the US and trick the system into saying he’s American. The problem with that is they’ll know immediately that the account is being payed from another country unless you pay with a temp card.
@@Danny0dbert First line is "add for vpn" so he was hinting at that approach. I am pointing out that the credit card problem can be more illegal to solve than using pirate streams or torrent downloads. Which is ironic, since your credit card does get charged and Disney does get the money.

Abso-fucking-lutely agree!
Kreia is one of the best written characters ever
I think they are meant to be together, kotor is one of the most perfect star wars stories ever tell about one of the most interesting characters in Star Wars, then kotor 2 provides an interesting deconstruction of Star Wars as a whole but specifically the previous game, especially which kreia and her musings and belief that revan never fell like the normal Star Wars narrative suggests, but sacrificed himself and that revan was beyond and above the force, all told they are together a nearly perfect duology
I still think it’s funny that Satale Shan talks like she isn’t connected to Revan, He’s literally your great-great however many greats grandfather.
Like 200 years apart i belive
The last with the twin brothers was the most interesting. you normally expect the stronger brother to turn dark side, but it was the other one falling prey to his own weakness and hatred, resulting in killing the only one who cared for him.

First one mainly has to do with the brothers, the second one is the climax and centered around Vaylin and Valkorion (Tenebrae, also known as Darth Vitiate). Suffice to say, those expansions are quite fun.
"If this is a taste of what's to come?!?" I sure hope so my friend, I absolutely hope so.
Malgus is just hands down my favorite sith ever. Tanks wish that they could the punishment he can and keep going. Beyond that, he may be one of the most terrifyingly dedicated sith in Star Wars history. His zealous devotion to the darkside has him killing the only person he loved, just because she was the one light in his life and kept him from fulling embracing the teachings of the sith. He's such a fascinating character when you actually know more about him, but even without that he's so intimidating. He took a missile and grenade to the face and just shrugged it off! Even Satele dropping what had to be tons upon tons of rock on him doesn't keep him down.
I wonder who'd win between Malgus and Bane
Malgus
The Sith Empire doing this era was the strongest it's ever been. It's armies and navies, despite being greatly outnumbered, consistently wiped the floor with the Republic. Malgus, being a skilled tactician and a fantastic warrior, was a fairly big part in that. The Empire's main strength, however, was the fact that they had dozens of Malguses. An abundance of great strategists and great warriors, people who would run circles around Republic Tacticians and make them look like toddlers playing cops in the kindergarten.
@@Erikaaaaaaaaaaaaa I assure you they did not have "dozens of Malgus". He was one of the strongest sith of his time and one if even fewer in the franchise as a whole to achieve perfect unity or "oneness" with the force. The man stands head and shoulders above his would be peers. His zealous dedication to the dark side put all other sith of his generation to shame.
@@judaihyuga Except he rebelled against the Empire and was defeated, both militarily by the Imperial Navy, and in a head-to-head duel with an Imperial striketeam. That entire sequence was done in motion capture. So every movement that you see was actually done by a real person.
Revan was a absolute beast. Look for his novel: Revan. It’s very good
i could never read anything revan related. their choice to go with male revan ruined him for me completely. having you first be allowed to choose who revan is.. gender and all.. in 2 games.. and then they tell you.. all your adventures was imaginary. in-game i had to consider "revan" a mere fake wannabee and kill him off at first chance. blegh.
@@ndaemon1718 ..it is all imaginary lol, it's a game. Even though they give you the freedom of creative choice in the game doesn't mean they can't establish a lore with him as a character.
I don't understand why him being a male character in canon ruins your experience when you create a female unless your immersion is broken to the point that you can't play a female version of him?
Idk I'm happy they established him as a character to give him a concrete lore rather than every action he took being only a "possible canon" for what happened. IMO that just causes their storyline to be sidelined and almost completely ignored (look at the Warden from Dragon Age: Origins, completely vague and no details about his actions in previous games unless you import them).
@@primary2630 had they made revan with constant helm and neutral voice via the mask.. .sure. i can sorta swing it.. but no. as far as im concerned the only revan to be real is female revan. and thus.. my immersion for the entire chapter of swtor is comepletely void. and, having trudged thru that travesty once.. i since skopped the entire chapter for all alts since.. as i said.. revan does not exist to me in the form they chose.
id rather they had gone with the dragon age format to be fair.. because as i said.. whats the point in ever replaying the old republic 1-2 ever again when you now for a fact its all bullshit. the entire two games.. unless you play a dude.. is all bullshit :)
@@ndaemon1718 @Primary I'm not bothered by the canon appearance of Revan (when I play kotor, I typically pick one of the black dude portraits for no other reason than the one I pick often looks badass compared to the rest of the faces to choose from lol). If anything, I absolutely HATE what SWTOR, and to an extent the book, handled the character. The way the book tied into SWTOR, along with the quests about Revan, having to kill him, ending his legacy as if he's just another Sith that's gone mad with power, is some straight nonsense and blasphemy. His character should've been truthful to his KOTOR canon story, striking that balance of the light and dark side of the Force, the truest understander of the Force and not getting caught up in the ideals of the Jedi or Sith. A true teacher. He should've been a character that could join you on your quests in SWTOR (OR the player should have the option to JOIN Revan). And this is why KOTOR 1 and 2 are the only canon stories in my eyes...in my canon, it is still a mystery as to what happened to him in the unknown regions...and if the exile was able to find him and tell him that "Admiral Onasi is following his orders".
@@Alliedboy117 Canon?
The Imperial Agent has my favorite story as of right now. That and the Bounty Hunter. Overall, the Empire characters have the cooler stories.

I played imperial agent last out of all the classes and I was so sorry I did his story was the one I enjoyed the most and he became my main character that I focused on above all others
I remember when i first saw those trailers, i had tears in my eyes. Tears of excitement.
I wasn't sure if you fully realised it but when they were talking about the end of the great hyperspace war (the last timeline video I believe) they were talking about the "mistake" they made at the end of the war. This mistake was the genocide and mass murder of basicly the entire Sith empire orchestrated by the jedi and the republic. But some escaped without the knowledge of the jedi and the republic.

The narrator is Lance Henrickson (sp?) - Bishop from Aliens
These trailers and promotional videos bring back great memories of first starting this game. Man what I would give to go back and relive that.
that first trailer alone had more narrative and character development than the entire new sequel trilogy.
Honestly, had more narrative and character than the entire Star Wars movies =/
I think more so Satile is far from invincible. She's strong but she needs help from her master and from her soldiers.
I like how in one of the fights you could hear the battle music between Obi and Ani

That is the reaction for the “ deceived “ trailer that I expected .
The good news is if you want to get into the game it is mostly free to play (I think expansion content you still have to buy but I could be wrong). So as you saw with the gameplay trailer each side has 4 classes to choose from. Each of those classes then has a specialization you can go into (Tank, DPS, Healer). Some areas of the game can be a tad weird and only allow one of a specific class to be in it. The game does offer dungeons you can do, often accompanied by a mission for said dungeon (which resets once a week), the mission gives out a loot box tailored for your class and spec.
4 per faction (empire and republicj each with two advanced classes. Each advanced class has two specs different from each adv class and one common to both.
Close enough to a brown lightsaber, in Legends there exists a bronze colored one, used by a Wookie Jedi, bronze I believed symbolized his brute force,.
"honorable death or?" Pretty much a "You failed, i'm stronger, i'm taking over" death.
Wow. Whoever put together that timeline got the cinematics in completely the wrog order. It goes Return, Hope, and then Decieved.
You can easily tell by Malaks injuries
You missed the Betrayed trailer, i’d highly recommend seeing it for your sake
Nothing seems as op as a high level character just walking by and wrecking everything while you are struggling to fight a lower level enemy.
And the PvP can get nice, the Flashpoint team up missions are fun, etc.
It's free to play now so no reason not to give it a try.
Cool part is that each character class (8 total though the 4 sith and 4 republic classes are mechanically identical) has it's own storyline (up until the expansions) adding a lot of replay value. The Imperial Agent one was particularly memorable.
Just so you know, & not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but BioWare didn't actually do the Cinematic Movies, it was the Blur Studio that was commissioned to do the 5 Cinematics [Return, Hope, Decieved, Betrayed, Sacrificed]
yes that horned jedi is a zabrak like maul, the only difference is where they were from, Mul was a dathomiran zabrak which colors red, yellow and orange and have a strong pull to the dark side, the other shown in this video is most likely from Iridonia where they are usually bronze and other normal skin colors
the game is fully voiced, both ur created charcter and even quests/cutscences and also has dialogue choices which can lead to some pretty dope or funny interactions u will never see in star wars main media.
the three cinematics of swtor are some of my favourite pieces of all of star wars
Actually, you can just go for a Sith Warrior/Jedi Knight and use trooper-esque armor. Armors are highly customizeable in the game.
I'm not sure if someone told you this in the stream chat, but this all happened about 4000 years before Episode 1.
3700 in TORs case.
@@robertharris6092 You can refer to that as 4000. I'm not stupid.
The Jedi we see in the Hope and Return trailer is Satele Shan, a descendant of Revan. There’s a recurring pattern in Revan’s line that they are very powerful force wielders and they deviate often from the Jedi Code. If you want a more expansive view of Star Wars, I’d suggest you watch Kreia’s Philosophy.
The narrator who's voice you discribe as being like butter is Actor Lance Henriksen hired to do the voice of jedi master Gnost-Dural for the lore reports on the Old republic web site, The jedi Master has a different voice actor for the in game voice over however.
I played SWTOR and actually really enjoyed the narrative/scenes in it up to the point I eventually capped my character and ran out of story at the time. Each class has its own story, my main character was an Imperial Intelligence officer.
The narrator is Lance Henriksen, aka Bishop from Aliens, General Shepherd from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Steven Hackett from Mass Effect, Kerchak from Disney's Tarzan, and a whole lot of other characters.
Revan went from Jedi to Sith to Jedi. He was captured and tortured for three hundred years by the Sith Empire in a mind battle before being released from his stasis by a Republic strike team. Also the chick with the double bladed lightsaber in the Hope trailer is the great granddaughter of Revan, Satele Shan.
I actually just started back up playing, and it's a fun game. Especially with friends, as the classes work together so well
The Jedi woman you thought was cool was Satele Shan (Bastilla's and Revan's, no idea how many greats grandaughter). In Shadow of Revan, the guy with the gun in the red jacket is Theron Shan, Satele's son. My favourite character who I always romance. This, ME and DA are my favourite games.
Have you watched The Clone Wars? You should definitely check it out, especially considering season 7 is around the corner.
the jedi in the scene at 47:20 is satele shan, the youngest grandmaster in the history of the jedi order, and the great great grand daughter of revan and bastila shan, not sure if great, great great, or something else
What no one else realizes is in the intro cinematic with the cowboy as he called him that’s the early millineium falcon
48:15 no it's never over, cause to quote Dave Filoni "There are so many different stories to tell!" 1:07:28, meet the millennium falcon's ancient ancestor. 1:20:25 the voice over for the timeline videos is by Lance Henrikson aka Bishop from the Aliens franchise.
The narrator from the Treaty of Corusaunt was Lance Hendrickson who is admiral Hackett in Mass Effect.
Honestly, I’d love to see a series on the game from you.
So I guess this doesn't count as "an 800 page novel"
oh this is but a small taste of what the expanded universe had to offer before the arive of the Disney empire! it is the worst threat to the galaxy that ever existed in the 10000 years of recorded history
wow ahahah i was looking for old republic reaction early today, this is a nice surprise !
If you think Satele (Jedi with the dual blade blue saber) and Jace Malcolm (The Republic trooper that faced the Sith lightning and used a grenade on Malgus) are badass just know they had a child together. Imagine how badass their child was.
Also the Yavin IV mentioned is seen in Star Wars Ep. 4 the Rebels using it as their base where the Rebels took off from to destroy the Death Star.
The narrator is Lance Henriksen. He played Bishop in Aliens. (Among a great many other roles)
Also, yes you should try it out, the story in Old Rebulic is amazing, the whole game is like beeing in a star wars movie
that hope cinematic is what made me main comando! this is all from the point of view of the Jedi Dogma, and as any dogma people start craving Freedom, so they "fall", Jedis preach ballance, but they dont accept it
I love the SWTOR Battle of Bothawui. It's basically the Star Wars version of Thermopylae. That's just such a badass story. It really is.
I love seeing people who don't know much about the history of the Star Wars galaxy, first learn about it. It's just as exciting as watching it for the first time. If you like dark lords the strongest and most under rated of them all is named Marka Ragnos. He was like the perfect dark side, almost like the dark side itself. Him, Darth Bane, and Darth Jadus are my hero Sith Lords in the expanded universe. You actually did watch this backwards though. You should have started at the bottom of the list and gone up. But still new subber here and love this video. Well the list is going backwards but makes sense as well. xD I've been playing SWTOR since 2012 almost non stop. Have never stopped loving the game. I would suggest playing SWTOR and the new SW game as well. Pretty awesome as well. Watch swtor cinematic mini movie. It shows all 5 swtor cinematics, but in order. I've played all eight classes but most definitely an Empire man. I have played the pube storylines mainly for achievements in the game. But also because now I can use my pube toons to infiltrate and betray the republic. They have defected in game, through the storyline to the Empire. So yea, spending a lot of time pube side just getting all of my pube toons ,(aka), Republic toons, to the new expansion so they can defect to the Empire. :D If that's a spoiler and you hate me, oh well, but the fact that you can do that kind of thing might entice you to play the actual game. Of course, it works both ways, but seeing people defect to the pubes, breaks my heart. Every class can be male or female and there are literally dozens of choices on how they can look, hair color, eye color, height, weight, face. So yea, great game I've been playing for seven years and I would suggest everyone play it as well. The Old Republic is literally the best time in the Star Wars timeline. Best stories and best characters. Also not just humans but you can be Twi'lek, Cathar, Chiss, Sith, Miralukan, Rattataki, Zabrak, Nautolan, Mirialan, Cyborg. So yes, please try it, I think you might like it. At 1:12:07 the first four classes are the pube, aka, Republic classes, the last four classes are Imperial classes. The Sith Inquisitor and the Jedi Consular are more reliant on force powers/force ranged powers, for attacks. Where as the Sith Warrior and the Jedi Knight are more reliant on melee/lightsaber fighting. Each class is a mirror of the opposite faction. So the Jedi Knight is a mirror the Sith Warrior. The Jedi Consular is a mirror to the Sith Inquisitor. The Smuggler is a mirror to the Imperial Agent, and the Trooper is a mirror to the Bounty Hunter. I'm a big expert on the game as a whole just because I have been playing for so long consistently. But please try it for yourself, I think you would like it. This coming from a huge World of Warcraft player as well. Of the two, as far as story goes, SWTOR beats WoW, just because the SWTOR storyline is so clear and all sort of culminate and end at the same place but you make the changes to the storyline yourself. I also know how to tank, deeps and heal in the game on all eight classes. Although since the two sides are mirrors to each other. I just know how to generally tank, deeps and heal, in general in the game. Both for operations and flashpoints. Even good at healing, only in warzones. My main is a Sith Inquisitor/Sith wizard. All about using the force for dark powers. The Sith kill their masters if their masters become weaker than them, that's to make sure the Sith always stay strong. 1:22:07 is the same Sith you saw in Return up until Deceived, Darth Malgus, is his name. Just remember him as the bald headed Sith in the cinematics. What is your stream so I can follow in the future, it's not listed here.
Loving all this content and especially this as Star Wars and its universe is amazing.
If you're looking for more cinematics to watch in the future, I recommend the starcraft and ESO (elder scrolls online) great cinematics all around and would love to see what you think.
Bruh the cowboy sounds like Marcus fenix and that means that boy tough
The story of The Twins is a true Star Wars legend.
fun fact about revan, he actually CHOSE the dark side as opposed to surrender to it/ fall. He forsaw the rise of a great sith empire, so he made sure it was his empire
Revan's lore is very cool.
I would look more into it.
I haven't played SWTOR since Knights of the Eternal Throne, after watching this I think I might give it a go again. Thanks.
I think Return comes first, then Hope, then Deceived. You can see it from the state of the bald Sith guy. His face is fine in Return, he gets hurt in Hope and in Deceived he's wearing a mask to hide the wound.
The guy who voiced Gnost Dural, the jedi record keeper, is Lance Henriksson, who played Bishop in Aliens.
I have not even watched it yet, and you've already won my attention.
Shoudl watch the Final Fantasy 14 CG Trailers. Top notch visuals and audio
You should play knights of the old Republic 1 and 2 before the old Republic, or during it, as the story of revan is told in a lot more detail in them.
Narrator is Lance Henriksen (yess... Android Bishop from the movie Aliens)
hey Dee Bee Geek just wanted to say that i love your reaction vids! PS what is that amazing hype song called that yu played at the start of the vid?
Also Exar Kun invented the double bladed lightsaber
Also btw the Chronological order for the trailers is Return > Hope > Deceived.
"Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Might be why the most powerful are more likely to fall to darkness.
20:59 "I like how they build up the original Mandalore as this epic gladiator that could take down any foe"
They didn't, though, they just said 'he often fared well' which doesn't necessarily mean he was one of the best, and when he got a winning streak it was because all who he defeated were drugged and bound to lose, making it easy for him. They put emphasis on him being young and proud, thus easy to manipulate, and a huge asset since he became the warrior king of the mandalorians, a mighty race that would be of great help to the sith empire. That was the important part, not him winning in the arena.
