    📝 VIDEO DESCRIPTION: The Scarbee Rickenbacker bass guitar is fantastic virtual instrument plug-in by Native Instruments. Just be careful of the pick scrape delay which might throw off your timing.

    Another option is to adjust the track delay by -40ms - this is not only useful for keeping time, but also keep the intended nuance of each sample. No need to splice or slide the audio around, nor the need to adjust and save the settings in Kontakt. Treat it like any latency issue. Nice video dude!

      Though I recall the '96 version of Cubase for the Macintosh had a similar timing compensation parameter, even 80s hardware like the Linn 9000 had controls for timing. It's always been a distinguishing feature of sequencers, and one of the reasons why "tight" dance mixes were enabled in the first place. It's certainly not something you would offload to a dedicated source if you can help it. (Especially when it's working as intended.)@@ohdearism

      @@voilabolognessich423 '91 Cubase, Atari 520ST with a 2mb upgrade had it, so I would guess so. I even think C-Lab Notator had delay compensation if I recall correctly. Synced to 2" tape via SMPTE. 30 mins loading a song into your S1000s off mountains of floppies. There's a Monty Python sketch in there somewhere!
      What we have today though, with pretty much every DAW - Blimey! We're very lucky thanks to amazing developers.

      Compensate for the delay however you like. The main purpose of this video was just to make producers aware of the Scarbee delay and why it's there.

    Aw maan. I was tracking this with a tight palm-muted metal riff. No wonder it sounded off! Great video. The sound effects are nice touch, and tastefully done.

    So that’s why Scarbee Rickenbacker Bass has sometimes sounded weird and unrealistic when I used it. Thanks man, I’ll use this trick

    Had a similar issue with Shreddage 3 Precision which has its own notes offset logic that mess timing. And the same, you need to dig into the manual/settings to find how to fix it. Seems like a bad design decision, they should at least let user know how to control this upfront in one way or another, not just bury it silently somewhere in the plugin.

    This is normal behaviour of many libaries. practly every strings/orchestra one, and all of those libraries has info about how much negative delay should you add do track. And Mister Scarbee recommends value of -33 in kvr forum

    • @neththom999
      @neththom999 5 місяців тому

      -33ms? Why don't they just make it work out of the box I wonder..

    • @djPositive
      @djPositive 5 місяців тому

      @@neththom999 long story short. a most of instruments has some version of sound that is coming before note, sounds start "before". thing about like flute or strings. so it starts before. So this negative delay is because of this, so virtual player will know that he will be playing. Any realistic instrument samplet that isnt like percussion or keyboard will have some form of it, some more delay some less. You can search public document called "virtual Instrument Track Delays" that is hosted on google docs. to see how different libraries have different value and often different for different articulation.

    Is there a way to lower the sustain on this vst? When I hold a note, it takes to long to fade out, the sustain is too long. I’d like to adjust it shorter. Any way?

    • @FlowProdOfficial
      @FlowProdOfficial  Рік тому

      There doesn't appear to be a parameter for sustain. However higher velocity notes fade quicker. You could try increasing velocity and reducing volume to compensate. Sorry that's the simplest solution I can come up with

    Has anyone had trouble with the tone of the bass changing? I load up a preset and it sounds natural, but then it will randomly change to this very robotic twangy style. It's the same tone settings, its just like the "Player" is striking the midi differently and it sounds really annoying and unnatural. If that makes any sense.
