I wonder what would happen if this guy runs for some kind of election....
the world isn't ready for good people to be political leaders. We still live in the paradigm of choosing sociopaths or even psychopaths or plain idiots to rule us, because most people only want simple solutions. Even if some truly wise good people ever get elected, they get eaten by the system and finally give up or just join the rest, to at least enjoy a bit of comfort in this life.

Off topic, but I always wonder why do celebrities have to wear clothes with brand names printed in big bold letters as if to say they can afford expensive clothes. Even while wearing a simple t shirt, and in this case the white suspenders, they have to have the brand name clearly visible and printed in big letters. They still need that validation.
"Marriage" has deep religious symbolism and significance -- esp in reproduction and family.
The Church accepts gays, but not the sin. Gays are sinners, just like everyone else. Jesus loves all sinners regardless, and He asks us to love Him in return. To do that, we do not have to be perfect and not to sin at all. When we do sin, we have to reaffirm our love by going to confession and trying again to abide by His commandments. His mercy is endless.
I recommend we just keep it that way.

We have to love the people, not the sin, but keep in mind that people go to hell, not the sin. God loves you just as you are, but He also loves you enough to not let you stay how you are. He wants to see you grow and change for the better and give up your sinful habits. This is the true conversion!

He has no idea about the Catholic Church and its religion. I'm always surprised to see how these people criticize the Catholic Church but are completely mute with regards to the Islamic faith and their much more violent intolerance towards gays in general, let alone gay marriages. I absolutely detest the argument (that stems from the mentality) of "It's 2018 so we should be accepting gay marriage". It's flawed logically. Truth doesn't change over time. Objectivity doesn't get influenced by the subjectivity of the public, even if a majority or everybody has the same opinion. Right is right even if nobody is right, and wrong is wrong even if everybody is wrong. And you do not have to sacrifice your personal beliefs or convictions to love and be compassionate.

i’m not sure about his exact sexuality but he did say that he doesn’t care much about labels and in another interview he stated clearly that he’s not gay.

he isn't, he said it like in 2 interviews, being cool, patient and stuff, but also indicating that that's none of people's business what his romance life is about.
The problem is many are upset that everyone won't except same sex marriage. People have their beliefs and they won't bend them to make others happy. People refuse to conform to the way the world ways but won't shun. I rather follow someone who is honest not someone who will lie.
It’s not really a paradox the Catholic Church doesn’t accept gay marriage but the do preach acceptance for all. Translation for all you non Christians we will not be mean or hateful to anyone but we will condemn you on the inside.
As a Catholic I would love to speak 1:1 with Hozier, from the way he speaks and sings about our church, which is very painful for me to hear, I think he’s highly confused maybe I could direct him to people able to help answer his questions.

@@zirious2330 Irish Catholic here sweetie, trust me I am not confused about the Catholic Church, even my Mammy who said her novenas and her rosaries everyday, acknowledged as an institution in Ireland they left a lot to desired. And the thing is they could do good, The Sisters of Mercy & Christian Brother educated so well we had a head start on others when we emigrated to UK, US and elsewhere, but my lord the horror stories, jesus christ, mind you when I was coming through in '70s/'80s, they were more inclusive and tolerant at least in my school. And then of course the scandals became uncovered in '90s onward.
Geraldine Rose Curtin this is a very interesting story about your own life growing up as an Irish Catholic, but Hozier not only wasn’t raised Catholic, but even if he was, none of this means he is exempt from being confused about the Church. The Church is also global, not just Irish. It’s Based on what he says, and how he sings about the Church that shows his confusion.

That O'Riordan Lad Just because you didn’t ask, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Jesus died for you. There have been writings that mentioned Jesus, and the horrific torture and deaths of followers of Jesus indicate that they truly believed in Him. They didn’t give up their beliefs. Why else would they do that? They obviously knew who He was. Person after person after person has given their testimonies about the power of Jesus, and the growth of Christianity despite huge levels of persecution is amazing.

@@shreyonghosh4724 What we are ALL supposed to do, with ALL of our sinful desires: deny themselves, and take up their cross, and follow Him. (Matthew 16:24). Live a celibate lifestyle, presenting your their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing unto God (Romans 12:1) and keeping God's commandments. (Ecclesiastes 12:13) This is a hard task, one that many including I struggle with gravely, but one that is possible through Jesus Christ.
This is not an easy task; Jesus Christ never said it would be. He did, however, say it would be worth it a verse later where He says "For he that will save his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for my sake, shall find it."

none of you do understand that God is against homosexuality, therefore we have to ban it from our societies. You do not want to believe in God, this is your choice and Our Lord is letting you free to choose to be against Him on that matter ; however, do not try to dictate Catholics to agree with your practices and preferrences. You call us authoritarian, but we are not forcing you not to have homosexual practices as long as you do not impose them to the society. Here is the difference between the Truth and you, that you are dictators and are willing to see us disappear for you to be able to enjoy every passion of yours ; while the Truth does not force people.
There is a difference between saying "what you do is not natural and if you want to go to Heaven you should stop those practices, and we refuse to have the latters imposed onto our children" and saying "you are intolerant because you don't accept me as I am, as I want to be, so you shall disappear". You do not want to understand that if God prohibited homosexuality, organised nature with hierarchy between men and women, it is for a reason. Look at your world, it is completely lost, you don't know where you come from, where you are and go, you do not have principles, respect no virtue, disregard what is good... A society in which you would be the reference of what is to be followed would rapidly distroy itself and see a terrible gap grow between rich and famous people and the rest of the people.
The Pope will never say that homosexuality can be blessed and that homosexuals can marry, for everything in the Old and New Testaments is teaching Him and us that this is a horrific and mortal sin.
If the same God destroyed those jews that put His Son on the Cross or at least they were the ones that made it possible, then He will have no problems with rejecting the erroneous teachings & scandals of any pope or clergy men/ women. A sin is a sin, no matter who you are, what ever station or office in life you hold, God does not discriminate. Hang on, perhaps that is what discrimination really means. It's not your sex or religion or whatever else man has invented and started in this life, including chaos. Man is not capable of having peace without involving God in society.
