  • Such an important part of the game - overlooked by the majority of players!! Almost every lesson with a new student involves working on this, because it is not done fast or early enough!
    If you are serious about improving your padel level and want an in-depth personalized training program, we recently have started offering ‘The Padel College’. It’s a 12 week specialized online training course with weekly content, assessments, technique/tactic analysis and 1-1 coaching calls. It is important to us that we have the right players on the course, so if you are motivated and willing to invest the time to improve your padel, fill out this form here to book a call: forms.gle/FUor5wmrRdgGHRPc8
    Players always come and want to work on the Bandeja or Vibora or the difficult double glass defense, when really the preparation is the foundation for all of those shots!!!
    I cannot stress the importance of this shot enough - yet I know it is less exciting than the kick topspin smash!

    Thanks from Terrassa (Barcelona) Sandy. I enjoy your videos while I improve my English comprehension.

    Yes, totally agree. As an old tennis player I can see how some player run and stumbles in to the shots. When with easy preparation you can make more natural shots.

      Exactly - the preparation is quite different to tennis when learning...

    Sandy, another great video! I agree 100% that shot preparation is overlooked most of the time, a correct shot preparation generally becomes a good shot afterwards. Thanks for sharing!

    Great video - it’s something you don’t realise, we’ll I didn’t, until I watched myself on video. Didn’t realise how late I was setting myself for the shot even when I knew where it was going. Engaging the brain and body to get in sync is hard 😊

      Most players are the same - got to see it to believe it!!

      100% the same here. Even after watching all of Sandy's video's and believing I was doing it (react) correctly. I videotaped a set for the first time and it was actually terrible. But not as terrible as my ready position (ready) though (mainly the racket position), at the start of each point it's solid but as soon as the point gets moving it's all over the place. Very confronting and very usefull to see yourself like that.

    Great tips! I've noticed this same theme in your other videos before and it has definitely helped me with my returns especially. Still got to remember to keep that racket up at all times haha!

    • @ThePadelSchool
      @ThePadelSchool  3 роки тому

      This is a recurring theme! It is something students often find difficult to change and something I see sooooo many players struggle with!

    I am 78 now, played since was in my 30s. In Spain ( my home) . I developed my own serve which was much harder to return as it had both power and slice. The position of legs to adapt is similar to a karate stand, so that you can use the full force of the twisting torso(body) to inject power, cut (spin) and twist as you hit. unlike the more traditional one leg more behind the other .👍 do let me know pls if you have success developing. In tennis the serve is a powerful tool, Padel has not yet reached that. Thanks

    I try so hard to remind myself to bring my racket back and to prepare early but sometimes you just get caught up in the match and you forget to prepare early. Maybe with more practice on preparation this will become more natural during the match. Any recommendations on how to keep that in mind during the match?

    • @ThePadelSchool
      @ThePadelSchool  3 роки тому

      Recommendation is to exaggerate it. Spend one set really focus on doing it so much you are almost over-doing it! It will feel silly at first, but if you watch a video you will notice it doesn't look silly at all!

    Hey i had some questions about the racket you are currently using.
    I watched your review on the racket but wanted to know your experience after using it for 2 months.
    Does the spin blade surface wear of or is it very durable?
    Can i put protective tape on this racket ( seems like it might not fit or interfere with the octagonal shape). If its not recommended to put tape on there and i am know to hit the glass wall pretty hard sometimes do you think i am prone to damage the racket badly?
    And lastly do you often use the weight and balance system it sounds pretty cool but i was wondering if it works as well as it sounds.
    thanks for the videos i enjoy watching them

      @@samuelpeeters7114 I believe it will take quite a while for the rough surface to wear down so don’t see that being an issue. You can also cut a slit in the protective tape so it covers the octagonal shape. I only manipulate the weight to get the balance and weight I want. After that I leave it…

    How about a link to a Google form where players can apply for the 12 weeks padel course? Then all can read more and give answers on the questions you have. Next step can then be 1:1 call. Just an idea 😀

    no my shot preparation isn’t great but I do recognise the importance of shot preparation and the correct position to the ball. When watching matches this is one of the first and biggest factors that one can instantly notice and distinguish good players from the also rans before the game even starts.
