I've been coming back and watching this for years. Such a wonderful video. Always loved the poem. Adore the song...love Guy and Marian dynamic in BBC's Robin Hood...this is just a joy to watch. Thank you so much for this.
I just want you to know that this vid got me into the Robin Hood series, which I watched obsessively, and Richard Armitage, who I still follow. Thank you for your service.
Thanks so much *passes a tissue* - I'm so glad you enjoyed it :). I couldn't resist using Richard Armitage as the Highwayman (he always looks so good on a horse!), and Lucy makes a great Bess - they had so much chemistry onscreen :)
Absolutely stunnung! I loved the way you used the scenes to tell the song's story. It fit so well and what a lovely song! Richard and Lucy had such good chemistry, it's a shame he didn't play Robin Hood, but I think his Guy is the best ever and Richard is such a fine actor that no one else could play him the way he did. Very well done indeed, Fayzabeam!
So easily we may take for granted all that we may have at out fingertips...The Highwayman is truly a brilliant poem. You may need only read it once to understand the power behind the words...Thank you so very much for putting two such glorious works or art together.
Wow this video is beautiful! I watched this in class and I thought this video was absolutely stunning while everyone else seemed to be yawning -_- I favorited this video and liked
That was fascinating...I like this couple too (Guy and Marian), this song/poem and it's story. The scenes fitted so well to the poem... That was really great, thanks for making it :) !
I discovered this not long after you, fayzabeam, posted it. I absolutely loved it! I discovered it, and saved the link, on my work computer. Having left that place in 2013, I let the memory lapse; when it came to mind a couple of days ago, I was determined to find it again. It was such a great pleasure to discover it again. You did a fantastic and artistic job of marrying the scenes to words and music. The overall affect is quite lyrical......thanks for posting this!
Thanks so much, Chance, that's so kind! I'm still really proud of this project, years later, and I still show it to my students when we study 'The Highwayman'. It's lovely to know other people like it, too :).
WOW this is amazing, my class have been learning about this poem all term, and when our teacher showed the video of it, it was just an animated one, so thank you so much for uploading this :)
I just now found this video while looking for Guy of Gisborne videos. I have never seen a more beautiful and touching video in my life. The music was one of my favorites. Thank you.
Wow. This video must be amazing for me to just sit and watch nearly 10 minutes spellbound. It riveted my attention the entire time, not such an easy feat for a vid this long. Amazing job. I'm becoming more and more fond of Gizzey as time goes on... : )
i first heard this son when i was twelve om 27 now i only heard it twice then it has been stuck in my mind. for 15 years i never know the name i finally heard it on Pandora today. i was so excited so i youtub it and found your awesome video. love the song love the video!!!!!
@torryquine78 Thanks very much for the comment - I'm really pleased you enjoyed the vid :). The casting seemed to work so well that I couldn't resist trying to do the whole song! And yes, I missed G/M in series 3, although, of course, it was still heartbreakingly evident that Guy still loved her, which almost made up for her absence!
I have come here with high hopes since this is an excellent song and these two played well off each other. Let us see how well it works together... All right then. *claps* Well done.
Thank you so much! This is amazing and very beautiful. Who better to use than Guy and Marion for the Highwayman and Bess? He looks fantastic on a horse I must say! They had a lot of chemistry going in Robin Hood. Too bad it was only for Series 1 and 2.
Good Job with this video! Poor Guy of Gisborn, he would have been near perfection if not for the whispers of the evil sheriff and the emotional toying with of Marion.

My story is similar to this but different video.
Thanks so much *passes a tissue* - I'm so glad you enjoyed it :). I couldn't resist using Richard Armitage as the Highwayman (he always looks so good on a horse!), and Lucy makes a great Bess - they had so much chemistry onscreen :)

yes I absolutely agree with the previous person who has said that Richard Armitage is a great actor! Margaret Beirne Mrs.

MAN I loved this video! I've always loved this song/poem, it's so tragic... And I can't help it. R.A is frikken awesome as Guy of Gisborne. **sigh**

This reminds me of East Anglia.
If you like the poem and the series you might to listen to my song The Highwayman's Lass on youtube. Enjoy.

I realized that as I continued through the series... :) that just goes to show how gullible I am.
