The core concern with praise is that successful people get an excess of it, creating echo chambers and positive feedback loops or "white noise". Its IMPERATIVE to learn how to generate the type of noise that will resonate on the frequency that your target prospect operates on. (Put down exactly what your gut tells you they NEED to pick up every. single. time. forever.)

    • @thedavidboland
      @thedavidboland Рік тому +2

@@Primatenate88 whenever I receive positive feedback, it's always the feedback that includes the person sharing the specific experience or benefit they've gained as a result of engaging with my content/music etc. generic stuff is like ok nice but then it's easier to forget about it a moment later.

One great takeaway is the reality that it may seem like a long time to take 2 years to grow your own business but in reality going to 4 years of college, taking a year to find yourself then work for someone for a a few then try to start your own thing. Just a fascinating perspective of how the times have changed with digital.

What’s up Dan? 28YO Aggy from London ❤ and I am really enjoying your content 🌸
    I thought I would share:
If the goal is behavior change - people are more suggestible when listening to a story. They also remember them a zillion times better. So if we define the outcome of teaching as changing behavior - stories, not facts, are the most effective route.
And it’s been a long transition for me to tell stories. The biggest belief I had to break was that stories weren’t valuable. But they’re the most valuable. Facts people forget. Stories they remember.
And you may think “well my audience is smarter, they think stories are fluff, they appreciate facts.” But it’s the opposite.
The smartest investors in the world are still swayed by a good story.
After all, anyone can regurgitate facts. It takes skill to tell a good story. So level up rather than hiding behind your ego of saying you’re “above” it. When I’m reality, you just don’t know how. - Alex Hormozi

Your words made me start writing every single day since the day I started listening to your videos. I am 38, I started my business in spagyric medicine and alchemy after studying for 19 years. I am still overcoming my sense of not being good enough. It is hard to accept that things pretty much moved online and people are getting distracted by stupid superficial things (me too), when all I wanted to do was help people get back their sovereignty, their health, their power and their sense of sacredness. I realized I can give some ancient wisdom back to the world even through social media.Thank you for your sincerity and humbleness.

Summarising the video which actually is an absolute gem:
    1. Find people you want to DM - who inspire you, with whom you want to work, where there is a mutual benefit, people with whom you would want to strategize with. Follow the person who want to, then see their following list and engage with them who are similar to the nature of work as you are
    2. Send them an inspired compliment - “This hit me hard, I resonated so much with this that I have been thinking about it for 2 days”. Keep doing that until they respond
    3. Show interest in them - Ask what are their goals, what are they building, what they do for work, how you can add value for them. If they don’t answer then see their profile and ask what are your next plans with your YT channel, what are you building right now with this kind of big audiences,
    4. Lead with value - send actional tips, send videos, docs, links that can add value to the other person, connect them with someone in your network,
    5. Get on a call to make deeper connect - show actually who you are and how can both you mutually help each other
    6. Follow up with value - As you have known their work better, you know the resources that can help them better, or something that you created yourself for them (a template, SoPs etc) so keep a string of conversation alive with value
    7. Follow up with an ask - ask them to join a community, send them a post for feedback, ask any specific questions from them, ask if you can tag them, write something that you learnt from them
Pro Tip - This isn’t immediate, it will take time. Start DMing 2 people, then 5 then 10. You need to work for free as well to polish your skills before you move to a point where you get paid.

It makes me even more eager to join your paid courses, since putting 7 Days Writer Challenge in action already changed my perspective about how simpler (not necessarily easier) it is to build the path towards my life vision, than I thought. Studying and doing courses for over 10 years now, led me to your lessons to break me out of inertia after all. I can see already the day I meet you in person, and tell you all about how I made that vision into life. And so it is 🌄

I am grateful for this straightforward insight. Too often this type of information is presented in a punching-down manner that can render some listeners deaf. The concept discussed here is one of my first and greatest excuses/stumbling blocks to growth. I've known for a long time that I need to know movers and shakers, experts and the impassioned, but my impostor syndrome b.s. always shoots it down with "What the eff can I bring to this person's life? They're literally the expert and I am the nobody. Even nobodies don't have time for nobodies, or else I wouldn't be trying to improve my situation in life." Blah blah blah. It just feels like such a Herculean task to get past that internal barrier. But nothing worth doing is easy or fast.

Just found your channel and a lot of your life philosophies I think we share.
I’m a big proponent for people finding their purpose and passions to then use it as a gift to the world/ collective.
I’d consider myself an extroverted introvert so it’s a challenge for me to be in social situations sometimes but I do enjoy conversations that lead to inspiration and growth.
Sometimes I get so discouraged to share and talk about my podcast because of imposter syndrome and comparisons.
If you ask me what I want to do with my life it’d be that. But I have a hard time being consistent with it. I feel like I should stop doing it all together but then when I actually get the opportunity to have a conversation with my guests I get so refreshed. It’s weird. I’m kinda rambling but this comment section seems like a great space to let this out.

Dan, discovered your channel two weeks ago. I’m wowed by the value you provide. What hit home is the Twitter info. I’ve been on Twitter since 2011, had over 2500 followers doing nothing. After hearing you, I need to jump back on it. Thanks!

Hi Dan, thank you for your content. I'm building my life after a 2week coma and extensive brain damage. I started learning how to create wordpress website and I'm enjoying it. After watching this video, I have decided to get back on social media (I deleted all my accounts after my brain injury) and find friends :)

Thank you for this video: it brings more clarity for how to grow in social media and freelancing. So many of us get caught up in paralysis of analysis for the simple fact that we don't know a good strategy for getting started and therefore don't take action. I'm definitely guilty of this myself.

I like your video, and it brings great value.
    There’s a difference between socialization, and introversion/extroversion.
I believe the ways that introverts/extroverts interact with society is different, and both have their strengths and weaknesses.
I don’t think introversion automatically means disadvantaged socially.

Best thing about internet and social media is, there's no time period constraint over a piece of art going popular. Like in before, if a very good art couldn't just become that famous, it was gone, pressed beneath the current world scenario timeline forever, only known to some few. But now there could be just one person finding something unique which has been underrated, and upload it on the internet, and boom, it goes viral, everybody's talking about it!! The art got it's value finally!

I really appreciate your content. I don’t even know how I rabbit holed to your channel, but I’m glad I did. As an introvert that does not yet have a business and also being a mother to an introvert this content is 2x the value. You’ve put me on a trajectory to map out my 12 year olds life goals working from the end in mind. We now know the lifestyle he wants means making 347k/ year. I have no idea how to do that, so here I am learning for both of our sakes. He knows he can build a dope life for himself, but that takes intention and we can start making progress towards that life now.

What type of lifestyle does your 12yo want? I am also a single Mom to a 12yo boy, but I just know he wants to be robotics engineer. Also, I have seen him google “highest paying jobs”. Right now, I just support him as best as I know and encourage him, continue learning programming languages/ coding and to form good habits now (no procrastinating, for example). I’m curious what kind of conversations you are having with your 12yo? I have very much room for improvement and you sound like a good Mom..

I have so much information I’ve learned over the years, and I didn’t know how to systemize the information to create profitable products or services I enjoy. Your content is gold to those who see its value. I am encouraged to develop a discipline around writing and messaging like-minded creators. Thank you again!

I really enjoyed watching your other video and ended up here because you raised an interesting point. You wondered why this particular video wasn't receiving as much attention, even though it holds significant value for solo entrepreneurs. (^o^)
In any case, this is the first time in years that I've reached out to someone directly after spending countless hours surfing UA-cam. As you rightly pointed out, I couldn't see how leaving comments benefited me in any way.
However, your video made me realize that besides the networking aspect, the most crucial aspect of direct messaging is expressing gratitude to creators for their extensive efforts in crafting content with the intention of helping others.
I genuinely want to thank you for investing so much time into producing such valuable content for all of us.
Starting now, I will make it a habit to express my gratitude to creators for their amazing content.
    Thanks again.
