people don't know that Taemin has A LOT of absolutely BEAUTIFUL ballads and Killing Voice is watched by a lot of people in Korea who aren't necessarily fans of the artists and ballads are widely loved by Korean public, so I think it's because of that why he chose to sing a lot of ballads there and also to show off his vocals (because yeah some people STILL don't know what an amazing singer he is)

I went to a music bank years ago, Taemin sang Hypnosis and performed Sayonara Hitori. I literally cried. Everyone was crying tbh. I wasn't a fan back then, but I became his fan since that day. The way he performs is incredible.

I LOVE it bc everyone knows he is a legendary dancer but not everyone KNOWS how good of a singer he is. Rise is BEAUTIFUL. The Korean name of it is Icarus, the lyrics are GORGEOUS and so is the live performance of it, I fully recommend it! Guilty is the best release of this year for me. And Taemin released a 1:30 minutes trailer with a prequel of the storyline of the mv bc it wouldn't all fit in it and it helps a lot to understand the story he is telling! My theory actually is that this was about his time in the military because if you remember there was an article at one point that he need to be moved from one post because he was having such severe anxiety where he was. This whole video showcases the fear, confusion, lack of control, claustrophobic and inner struggle he must have had to endure while in service. I am so glad our baby is back but I am also sad that it hurt him so deeply.

Losing his bandmate and friend, dealing with hardships in the army, anti fans putting meanings and words in his intentions. Taemin has talked about the literature that inspired this concept: Erotism: Death and Sensuality by Georges Bataille and Demian by Hermann Hesse. The fans are also seeing influences from Lord of the Flies. But the director said that his sole inspiration for the MV was Demian. I adore the 3/4 time signature! It's a waltz, a cycle he can't get out of. And his vocals are so much more relaxed and natural! From the boy with no lines to this. So proud. This comeback was stunning! I feel like most of the critiques about this is because it doesn't sound like your typical K-Pop song... That's exactly the point! Taemin is an artist, this whole thing is an art piece, not made to be a typical Tik Tok dance song.

The mood trailer was art and kind of gives a great clue to a story being told. I think the choreo is part of the story, and I try and watch it to see what’s being said through it but I keep getting distracted by how beautiful it looks.

Taemin has talked about the literature that inspired this concept: Erotism: Death and Sensuality by Georges Bataille and Demian by Hermann Hesse. The fans are also seeing influences from Lord of the Flies. But the director said that his sole inspiration for the MV was Demian.
I adore the 3/4 time signature! It's a waltz, a cycle he can't get out of. And his vocals are so much more relaxed and natural! From the boy with no lines to this. So proud.
