This is insane! Definitely don't want to be on the first human trip anywhere lol. But I guess someone has to do it!
Pretty early in the film I was thinking the title should be “Dude, you’re screwed!” That thought never really changed until the very end when the time between when he sat down and the others appeared was a bit ambiguous-seconds or minutes? Absolutely amazing work by all! 👏👍🚀🫡

Worked well too with the judgement of distance in low atmosphere at the crater top
What a nonsense! The thin density of the Martian atmosphere can't inflate a parachute glider so much, let alone to drag a human around on Mars! And then the howling storm...just RIDICULOUS! The movie "The Martian" already demonstrated its incompetence with such nonsense! PS: ...an oxygen cylinder will never explode on the side in a pinpoint fashion; it is more likely to survive such a crash in one piece.
Wow! 🫡
I know its going to be exceptionally dangerous, but i hope that nobody, absolutely nobody, will ever have to experience something like this
excellent animation
Very good animation, but its the sound design that really sells it.
What a way to go out! This is awesome! Great work!
This is not only an animation, its an aniemotion!
'MERICA😭good grief this was incredible
This mans never having macaroni and cheese again
Crazy animation!!! Wow
This was cool. Worth the wait! :)
Agreed
Incredible!
Crewed missions to Mars will be insanely dangerous, but absolutely worth it!
Incredible short film! Thank you so much! Left me intrigued on who those are and what happens to them.
Holy.... I have no words.. This is TRULY amazing dude.... Jeez... Talk about underrated, that's for sure. Keep up the incredible work!
WOW!!
Very mixed emotions watching this animation.
Guy plants the flag, but then dies.
Very thought provoking stuff.
What a beautiful and patriotic film. Well done!
A well made little short film, must've been fun to make!
Totaly awesome, a must watch ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Well done Corey 👍
This is absolutely incredible. Congratulations on your talent!
I am currently playing through a game called The Planet Crafter where the main objective is to terraform a planet, this should have been the intro. Amazing work.
Exceptionally well done, Corey! As your former teacher, I am extremely proud of you! -Mrs. Owens
Brings to life how close successes in Space are to the other side if the coin.
Excellent!
WoW, and Marcus House is one of your Patreons .. That's an Honor!
I have previously observed a conspicuous absence of SpaceX vehicles in near-future science fiction videos to-date. Nice to see one of them here, even if it crash landed. Let’s pray the real thing does rather better.
Epic. Nothing less
A++++ I wish movies in the theaters were this good. Excellent job.
Brilliant and scary! Amazing work
You should make a tutorial on how you made the Martian environment in blender. I’ve been wanting to learn how to do it!
Great work!
Very sad! amazing animation.
Great work. He was sure having a bad sol wasn't he?
Very intense.
great work
Fantastic!!!!
Nice work :)
Both emotional and amazing at the same time! Best thing I have watched all week!
this is really WOW animation
This is simply amazing!!
Damn great job team!!!♥️🚀
Awesome work!
Absolutely insan animation
great !
Well done Corey! Brilliant! Greetings from the UK.
Damn! Awesome work all around with this!
We love it!!!!!
How was this made, it's amazing.... Like nothing I have seen. It is more believable than any Hollywood depiction.. I'm Gob Smacked. Great video. Thank you
Great job!
Never got the chance to grow potatoes with his poop😢
a masterpiece
Awesome brotha!
The unjoy of being the last of the first. A real prospect.
Awesome!
Incredible
Good job man
Crazy work! I demand that c-bass be given the direction of the next Disney blockbuster.
For 1% of the usual budget, it will give you greater critical and commercial success.
I am not a proud American patriot. I am from another continent who regrets being reminded of this because it took me out of the story.
I can't wait to see the next videos
Keep up the details 😂❤
I love this
What a production! Great video.
Drama. However, it also might be a documentary.
Really cool animation. (Mars's atmosphere is not nearly that thick though!)
Wow !!!👍
Mistake #1: keep the parachute for needed shelter and warmth for the Mars nights.
Mistake 2: Scout out the wreckage closes to you for supplies and items you may need to traverse the landscape.
Secure yourself in your shelter first. Worry about the bodies later.
Locate additional O², food, and water supplies.
Actually mistake #1 was surviving a parachute landing on Mars. It wouldn't be possible as the atmosphere is 1% of what it is on Earth. He would have hit the surface at an incredible speed. But, the animation was awesome nonetheless.
since theres is almost no atmosphere on mars, how would that parachute work?
Dude!!, This is awesome!, great job!. I really like those animations were those keyframed or mocap?
There are some keyframed animations and tweaks, but the overwhelming majority was mocap
@@CbassProductions nice!, what software do you use? Is it blender?, or something like C4D?

Absolutely insane! How can this be animated?
Well, if you have almost two year’s worth of free time…
The two who showed up at the end were Jared Isaacman and Scott Poteet.
His dead crew mate would have had leftover oxygen.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing skills 🤩⭐🌟 Who were the 2nd two? China?
Sign me up!
God bless America!
Amen brotha!
❤🚀✨
i hope that when we eventually land on mars, the astronauts would have another flag for our planet earth.
not bad it's cool
Demais
Very realistic andMy luck! 🤦🏿♂️
I like the part when the Martians showed up and ate him...
this is really good (not the trip the animation) :D
Unbelievable that this astronaut can suffer this inauspicious landing sans expletives...😂
This is an excellent piece of work by all concerned. Have you perhaps read the very good science fiction short story by Theodore Sturgeon from October 1959 - "The Man Who Lost The Sea" ? It is a challenging read, that rewards the effort. It has a mention in Wikipedia, and is available to read on Strange Horizons. Like you, Sturgeon often explored roads less traveled.
In some ways, TMWLTS had a similar theme to this one, with an ending that was downbeat and triumphant at the same time. With the help of some friends in 1969 (at Otago University, New Zealand), and with rather less in the way of resources available, I made a short 16mm B&W film based on Sturgeon's story. So I salute your achievement!

gg corey
Beautiful
How did you size the parachute in the opening sequence?
🐐
(earth's surface is mostly water so should a mars habitat )
-give everyone 9m diameter luxury apartments, build river-like lakes for indoor walks, seafood and o2 algae - waterlocks as airlocks make living easy (ice as building material gives vast structures in no time )
Great work! I love the enduring American spirit! To hell with the haters!😂😂😂
click like, click play. :D
woooooooooooowwwwww
Astronaut Wiley E. Coyote, USAF.
o que é isso?
Parachutes do not work on Mars
If the craft (in this case, an astronaut) is light enough, and the parachute is large enough, then it does work.
Technically, a parachute of basically infinite radius would work with the moons (practically vacuum) atmosphere.
Very well made and emotive animation - but I have to take issue with the depiction of the Martian wind being able to drag along a human body, parachute aided though it is.
What's even worse, is the parachute couldn't have possibly worked in Mars' thin atmosphere, to begin with - so wouldn't even be equipped on such a mission, as it'd be less than useless! 🤦♂️
Because of the lightning pace of progress with AI-driven robot workers, I expect they will comprise the first wave, setting up habitats, underground farms, ice mining, fuel plants, and infrastructure for the first human colonists. That will greatly reduce the risks for the first humans but, as Elon Musk warned in his Mars colonization skit on Saturday Night Live, people will certainly die in the attempt.
One spare oxygen bottle. Really? ONE ????
There were probably others, but at that point, with no hab, why bother?
I am afraid that a parachute of that size would result in a rather large hole in the ground !- also dust storms in low density atmospheres are not really a threat - the gravity is 38% of Earth.
This isn't a realistic physics simulator, its a piece of art.
I don't think the video implies that the dust storm itself was a threat. My understanding is that the guy started running just because he was afraid of losing visibility and not being able to find his way to the crashed ship. (Martian dust storms _can_ reduce the amount of sunlight that reaches the surface by 99% at their peaks.)
"I did say people were gonna die" - Elon Musk
Great art, but could use a lot of help on the story.
Oh dear.. had me riveted right up until the flag waving salute.. *facepalm!*
Pity. It was going well until it started going all jingoistic...
Sympa mais... Même erreur que seul sur Mars... Pas assez de pression pour faire une tempête dangereuse... Et le soleil est loin , très loin... Pas éblouissant comme ça ..
Grim and sad ☹️
