My Harley full leather has vents I open !! Leather can breath !! What u guys are wearing are for the rain !! Cold weather !! Leather works the best 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hegshot, At temps above 85 to 90 degrees you tend to sweat more than you can hydrate. You risk electrolyte imbalance which can lead to all kinds of life threatening problems. The secret is to cool down your core. The best way to do this is to get a hyper-kewl vest. Fly Racing and even Harley Davidson both sell them. They have cells in them that absorb water and use the flow of air to act as a natural air-conditioning system. After recovering from cancer, I was very heat sensitive and could not handle long rides. Last year I road to Sturgis in temps over 100 degrees for 400 miles and felt like it was 65-70 degrees. I only stopped twice to fuel and stretch and wore full ATTGAT, which included an Armored Mesh Jacket, Bohn Armor under my jeans, armored boots. I only had to drink on 16 ounce bottle of water the whole trip and could have easily gone another 200 miles that day. They are inexpensive; mine cost $49 and will probably go 2-3 years. I have even used it to cut my lawn on hot days as the smallest of wind will work. It has worked well on both dry and humid days. Check it out.
I live in Arizona. I wear a Rev'it silver colored mesh jacket with armor. Above 85º, I wear a cooling vest under the jacket... soak the jacket under water, wring it out, put it on - the air going through the jacket and vest makes your core feel like it is significantly cooler. At temps over 100º, it is hot, no matter what... but the cooling vest helps. In the dry humidity here, it will dry out in a couple hours - just soak, wring, and put it on and you're good to go again.
I've had this jacket for about a year now. I live in Northern Florida and there is no shortage of humidity and heat from May to October. On my naked bike, this jacket is fantastic with plenty of airflow. On my bagger, with the windshield, it certainly helps as long as I keep moving. As some others have mentioned here, I am going to look at a hyper-kewl vest.
Give KNOX gear a try. Very high end, tons of air flow with protection and abrasion resistance. They offer three different levels of protection in their vented gear. They make vented pants too in the same line. Also, even though they went out of business recently, try and find yourself a Draggin" mesh Kevlar shirt. I think that would be exactly what you're searching for. You might have to dig deep searching, but they're still a few around.
It's not a cooling jacket. It just allows more air flow. I live in el Paso texas and rode in above 100 all summer. Nothing keeps you cool and hot air is just that hot air. It's a jacket that provides protection and air flow. Instead of a jacket that doesn't allow air flow. I dont think your going to find what you are looking for. I am going to get one of these as I know it will allow air flow while moving but the knowledge knowing if I go down my old skin is protected will be worth the added discomfort
I live in Florida and I've tried several cooling jackets. But I just don't wear them. It's too hot when it's 95° outside with 80% humidity, making the temperature actually feel like it's 110. There's no way i'm wearing a jacket.
Got the same jacket. No it doesn’t keep you cool. The pads are stiff as a board too. The one for your back is horrible. I’ve worn it maybe 4 times now. Maybe in the fall I’ll wear it again.
I’ve had the same Skillriderz jacket (even the same color) for two years. Commute 60 miles round trip virtually every day in Texas. It doesn’t “cool” but it’s less hot than everything else I own or have tried. I’ve spent too much on ink and really don’t like the idea of being forcibly separated from my skin should some make-up applying, text message reading moron decide to change lanes without pulling their head out of their backside.
I have the same jacket, and I like it. I'm in California, and I do feel air passing through the jacket. I do wish it had hand pockets though. Looking forward to see what you find in the future. Always enjoy your videos.
It makes a swamp cooler . in the south the humidity is too high to work correctly I'm in Northern California "not the bay" up around redding and my jacket works well
Quicky thought here @6:15 ...... Maybe you need to treat it like a Do-rag, ( biker's Doff ), and wet it down first.... ??? Hose it down and let evaporation do its thing ??? Stay Safe you two..... Ciao.
I think a medium thickness white coloured cotton textile jacket with mesh lining and armpit air vent openings will just do the job perfectly. White colour deflects sunshine, and medium thickness isolates you from heat. Cotton textile with mesh lining and armpit air vent openings are great for circulating air flow. Can just refer to clothings of the Arab people living around scorching deserts, those white robes exact same mechanism haha

My Harley mesh jacket makes a big difference on the road. Protection as well as sweat activation.
Dude I'm in cali and ride back and forth from AZ for work I don't think anything is going to keep u kool in 100+ heat😂😂😂😂😂

I got the level 2 Armor and it's real flexible.
I keep on hearing about people having hard armor and it confuses me

Dude, the tattoo thing is one of my big reasons too 😂
Soak your t-shirt in water then put it on underneath your gear!
It's worked for me
Gets close to 100 degrees,,,,, bike stays in garage.
🍑
It's nice to stay cool, and it's also nice to stay in one piece. Dress for the slide, My arm an knee looks like a cheese grader went over it. Lol
Also could do freezer vest

No. No jacket can keep you cool in the summertime. The only thing that could come close would be a Bohn Body Armor white mesh armored shirt.

👍🏻👍🏻👋🇺🇸
Better to sweat then bleed
Id keep it wet with water and have spray bottle
I've seen mesh jackets with armour in but haven't tried them
