The J7 does my entire house on one charge.
I’m impressed with mine.I’ve had several Roombas.
I have a Husky, and this thing can actually keep up with that shedding dog.
I’ve never had one that could do that.

The more it runs the better it cleans. It's kind of pointless that this reviewer says the battery is disappointing while the robot is still running to map the apartment. Besides I don't care if it takes a lot of time or it has to go back and recharge. The important thing is that it cleans well and runs well around the house.
Are you happy with how it cleans hard floors from hair and small debris?

Yes I think it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
I have a Husky, he sheds enough hair to be three dogs.
The J7 handles it no problem.
I run it every other day.
Once every 5 or 6 cycles I pull the debris hopper and hepa filter out and clean it, plus I remove the rollovers to remove hair.
      It takes literally 2 minutes.
Once it mapped out my house, it cleans my 1450:sq ft house without recharging.
      My house is 50%carpet

I'm an new owner of a j7+. I had issues out of the box when I tried to simultaneously clean and create a floor plan. It had to recharge before completion and never properly created a floor plan after 4 tries. (Yes, I am patient). After a full overnight charge, I sent it out to just do a mapping job. Got the correct plan after 2 mapping only jobs, which took roughly 1hr 15min each for ~580sf that has a lot of furniture with legs and wall openings without recharging. The map and clean function didn't work for me fresh out of the box but works well now.

The i7+ I just upgraded to the roborock s7+ had a small battery too. I had the i7 for 3 years and it wasn't able to clean my 1000 square foot house without going back to charge. That was unacceptable, I'm not going to buy a new battery every 3 years. The roborock s7 cleans my whole house in 65 mins! With over half battery remaining. So glad I made the change! Thanks for the awesome videos with reviews and comparisons!

I've found the battery issue is only a real issue when mapping. It spends a LOT of time banging around objects like table legs trying to build a map. After the map is created you can create exclusion zones around tough spaces and the robot will avoid them. I set up strategic exclusion zones in my house and my J7+ will usually do 2000 square feet of my house in about 2 hours, with one recharge. As it is, we rarely tell it to do whole house cleaning. Instead we assign high traffic zones like Kitchen, Living Room, Hallways, and our Foyer, and it can hammer those out in about 40 minutes on one charge.

I have had my iRobot J7+ for a couple of weeks. It is very good at object avoidance and cleans well. However I agree that the battery is sub-par. My J7+ will only clean for about an hour and a half before having to return to the charging base to recharge. I will say however that it has to clean in my dining room and kitchen with eating area and navigate around a lot of table and chair legs. It does this very well and, as I use it more and more, doesn't ram anything. It has to redirect itself a lot to get through this obstacle course and this uses a lot of battery power! I also have 3 cats and a lot of area rugs of different types. While it doesn't get up all the hair, it does a very acceptable job. If you have an open floor plan, few rugs and no pets, I am sure the J7+ would zip around and finish its cleaning in a much shorter time and possibly with only one charge. All in all, I am very pleased with my J7+ and will keep it.

I must be one of the lucky ones, I got a Shark IQ off of Woot 2 weeks ago and so far it has been awesome granted all my floors are laminate but on the first run it was able to map out my main floor pretty good, 4 rooms 600 square feet. It is on the slow side it takes around 100 minutes to finish I also set it to empty every 30 minutes as I have two dogs and two cats. At the end of the day I am extremely happy so far. My house is a quad level and I now am planning to get a robot for each floor so maybe the next one I will get a different model and who knows maybe this is bad and I haven't seen a good one to compare? Can you suggest what next one I should get for the next floor? basically same layout but a few area rugs also. Btw great videos...

I have a J7 sitting in its box waiting for its debut when I move into a new house in the near future. I'll put the shark in the upstairs.

I couldn't agree with you more on the battery issue. I recently got a different table and chairs in my dining room, and for some reason it now takes my Roomba J7 longer to clean that room, I use the deep clean setting so it makes two passes over everything and it can no longer do this without having to go back for a recharge. Very disappointing, with all of my other bots I can send them out twice and they will complete it and some of them even still have some battery life left. I don't have pets so don't need the poop avoidance, between the short battery life and low suction power on this robot, and the fact that the navigation just isn't as good as the lidar bots, I'm starting to regret buying it, I will not even consider buying any new Roomba bots unless Irobot increases the cleaning power like they did with the S9 and includes at least a 5200 MAH battery. I think other companies, especially Roborock have completely gotten ahead of Irobot.

I just don't really understand why people complain so much about a robot taking longer to vacuum then other robots when does it really matter that much because it's not like you or the one that's half team to do the vacuuming and the vacuum or using has terrible battery life and it's not like you have to stand around waiting for it to finish vacuuming so what does it mean really in the grand scheme of things matter how good of a battery life that has. However, when it vacuums my carpeted family room 234 sq ft of cleaning area it take 2 hours 4 minutes of vacuuming and 2 hours and 40 minutes of additional charging. Starts at 100% and returns to charge 2 more times just to clean 1 carpeted room. Wide open room with nothing in the middle of room. So disappointing not just about the time, but also has to causing shortened life. Also the side brush was distroyed by the carpet in less than a month. If you have all tile or hardwood great. $850 is a bargain. Will be about $2k in Australia. iRobot forces all product to go through a 3rd party distributor here. They of course put a hefty margin on it. The i7 is $1700 the s9 is $2900. It’s $116 just for a replenishment kit. Bit of a joke really. Can purchase from US, have it shipped, the currency converted and still pay half the local cost. However, iRobot won’t give warranty or support. They instead force generating sales for a good for nothing middleman licensing their name.

Yea that's crazy expensive....However iRobots are made really well so I wouldn't worry too much on warranty,.

Not very good especially on max suction but it will go back and recharge and then go back out on its own.

Not impressed with the battery. This is a no buy for me. Spending that kind of money and a battery that's questionable makes no sense to me.

If you are buying this to avoid poop, you probably are running this while you are at work. Battery life shouldn't matter.
