One TD8 you will hear much about is the TD 8CA This had a 5 speed gear box and a clutch I believe only twelve were built in the UK for foresty work as normal TD8B would burn out the torque convertors when ploughing to plant trees Two ended with 4 speed box but 2 reverse gears
Like to start off by saying I love your content !!! And it’s put me on the hunt for a TD8 in which I’ve found . But I was hoping you could perhaps help me on an issue . The owner bought it from a lady and it had been setting for a while . All was fine when they loaded it except for a new battery and the lift cylinders leaking off . But he says that once it came off the trailer it blew a large hose and will not move period . He says it’s dumping fluid the second it’s started and it’s coming from the very left rear up above the tracks on that side . Any pointers on where to inspect once I get there ?
Well it sounds like the hose that goes from the transmission pump to the filter housing, it’s inside the left hand compartment. Not an easy one either. Get a service and operation manual. You will need it. Thanks for watching and good luck! Some parts are hard to find, but there are still some sources.
Bought a 1955 TD-24 about 10 years ago put about 7 grand into it she has cleared to date 1000 acres in central Texas with minimal repairs she's a work horse but you know you've done a days work too.
At least the chrome stack didn't get hurt! Great video! Hey, could you go over the controls and operation of that sometime? Thanks for the video! Keep up the awesome work!
If you are tough it won’t squish you too bad. A floor jack is ideal, a come a long looped under the pan will work. There are 2 pans. I’d estimate they are roughly under 100 lbs each. That is unless they are full of dirt. Use caution.
Dmitri Drezins it’s not perfect but it did have the steering brakes replaced by the previous owner. I think it will earn its keep. Thanks for watching.
@@Digginok you are so right on that. I cringe when a customer calls and says "oh it should be easy its mainly saplings". If they are oak, hickory or elm saplings its like trying to doze a field of coil springs.
I have aTD7-C, seems the same as your TD8, they are a great little machine. On mine I guess no one ever reversed the Fan blades and they are totally stuck, I am going to have to remove the Rad to be able to fix that as I mainly use it for pushing snow in Winters, and it's pretty cold on it with the Fan pushing, thanks for posting the Video, it's super.
Another young fella with somethin to prove, I should set myself up in the dozin business, but do I wanna live in Oklahoma.................LOL looks like I'm going to have to buy a IH product to keep up with ya.☻
Some thick stuff there Frank ! Hope you don't get a Oklahoma Sasquatch come out of that and hit you in the noggin for tearing up its home ! 😊 That little 8 does a good job! Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍
Doing the same thing here at the house. Got a J.D. 455E crawler loader got some age on she still sounds good when you get her wormed up. Mines got a turbo run it hard enough you can hear it start to whistle.
Rolling brush, peeling root balls and man handling brush piles.... mighty woolly stuff! You could dang neart shear sheep with that thing. #farmalldozer right tool for the job. Was that multiflora rose?
Jacob Bradburn no ether, you may need to adjust the throttle linkage. I use the cold start slot on mine, usually fires right up. ua-cam.com/video/AdqbGJAmr8E/v-deo.html
You know what would be good if you can build a little cage in front of the dozer for a go pro camera 🎥 and do the same thing for the back hole in the back so we can get A better view I think that would be kind of interesting don’t you my friend Good video keep them coming my friend
That machine does a nice job. You're going to have a huge burn pile by the time you're finished clearing that piece of land, I'll probably see it from my house in Georgia 😁
Your right frank nothing wrong with bit of smoke like that it’s nearly nothing , it might even clear up after a little work but doesn’t matter if it don’t she will go for years like that
Hi frank , I see she has the automatic oil change system on her (blue smoke) but she is really running well you’ve got a good one there frank, all the best and keep well.
It happened to my Uncle. He was pushing some trees with a D8 and a large hickory limb springed back over the blade and hood of the tractor and knocked him out of the seat . Almost killed him . Destroyed the right side of his head. He never worked again . This was before they had clearing cabs.
I judge an operator’s skill level at clearing ground by seeing if the exhaust pipe and air breather are still on the machine at the end of the day Just saying 🥴
That’s a right powerful little thing ! A nice addition to your fleet . Ya’ll have red clay like we do in Raleigh NC I guess I was expecting more sandy soils
can we expect to see any large brush fires in the future ,that are not fueled by an international dozer, your dozer needs a cutting edge like the one you put on yer loader bucket on your LB 95
Awesome video, new subscriber here. I’ve got a TD8G with a Cummins 4bt & gearmatic winch on the back. I’m gonna have to break down & do some maintenance on mine like you done. I need track tension seal, a hydraulic jack repacked & some track pad bolts redone. Those are great dozers though. I’ve got a open cab 580k 4x4 backhoe & a Topkick dump truck. Loving your videos buddy, thanks for taking us along.
Playing peek-a-boo with the fence line. The little 8 seems to be doing a very good job. The repair looks like it is holding up so far. I hope things keep going good for you.

Oh sure just what you need is a dozer. Will maybe you do drive Chevys after all lol🙃🤣.

That dozer sure is handy! I like that fan feature too! Keep up the good work Frank!
Yeah the fan makes a big difference when it’s cold, starts getting too hot when it’s 50 degrees though. Thanks Brandon
Busted hydraulic line above skidplate, any advise on skidplate removal? How heavy is it? Thanks.

Good power 💪 glad to see your fix is working out!
🇺🇸💪thanks! It’s doing well so far.
Love that tractor and your pushing technique. You know when to hold them and when to fold them.
Thanks! The td8e is a great machine
Dozer seems to be in great shape! Steering clutches super responsive. Have fun my friend and make plenty of money doing it😀😀

Sir you got the track back together good job was your repair job on tensioner go well? And what was you final idea for repair of cylinder?
Extended the tensioner rod, it’s working well. Thanks

Good job Frank. I think you little dozer is a keeper. Another way to make $$$ when no backhoe work is on the books.
Yeah it’s been good, too wet for diggin but not for clearing. Thanks!
Nice dozing Frank. The old dozer sounds just as great as it ever did.
Thanks! I’m kinda gettin attached to the little TD.
Man that’s some thick stuff. That blade must have a new cutting edge!
Stay safe

Blackberry bushes, they don’t have much for roots, pull out pretty easy. Edge isn’t new but has some life left. Thanks for watching

Frank I hope you are just too busy and not ill or anything. Hope to see another video soon.
Jim Zivny doing fine Jim, just busy. I’m trying to get back to some videos. Thanks for checking in on me.

Is that turbo as loud in person as it is on the camera? I may have to change my exhaust I like the turbo sound.

I love those IH tractors, but if I was looking for a dozer today it would be a used 850 b case just the right size.
You going to sprig this to Bermuda grass?
Probably seed some mixed with some rye grass
Hey ur u them two kids been wackin it in my tool shed?
Cool little dozer but you'd get a whole lot more done if you'd trade it in on a D11........
Now that you found the heater, you will have to look for the ac.
Still looking!
