I was searching for the best color silk organza and found your channel. So happy I did! I have my hook and needles…will order my fabric next…in white. I am interested in how you applied the finished Tambour beading to that shoe…and also the bag. How close can you cut your beading out?
Hello Maria! My local shoe maker Made the shoe for me (taking apart and assembling again). The fabric with embroidery has been glued to the existing leather. I would leave a centimeter seam allowance around your embroidery 🧵.
Thank you for the information! I was wondering, I have some experience with tambour embroidery have been designing bags recently using cotton fabric but i would like to use it on jean material to create my own version of the sashiko technique. Could i do it on this fabric would i need to use my bigger needle or buy an even bigger one, in terms of the thread I assume i’d have to also get a thinker one than normal
Thanks for your information. I'm curious also ,if the embroidery can't be washed by washing machine, then how shall I wash it ?for example an embroidered jacket ? thanks !
Great question! It is haute couture embroidery . Imagine embroidered dresses being tossed in the washing machine ….:-) . Same with clothing for opera and theatre. Of course you may hang it in the air and there are ways to clean with a dot of fabric with alcohol which kills bacteria (armpit area), but this is something you should try out carefully and at your own risk 🤪
Thank you for this video! Would 6 momme be suitable? I also wonder if it is wise to pre-wash the fabric to deal with the shrinkage before you do anything with it...
As every fabric acts different and every use has its own perks, I would recommend you to always make samples to make sure the result meets your standard👍
Hi Saskia thank you for your video ❤❤ I was wondering can you use silk organza as jewelry. How can I make earrings for instance with tambour embroidery?
I think this is possible. However, I am not a jewelry expert, and I have no experience. The silk organza is very lightweight. Even with only stitches I can imagine it would be dreamy and beautiful.
Hi Saskia is there any other fabric that can be used besides silk organza? I have been searching for is where I live and it is just incredibly difficult to find.
@@SaskiaterWelleRisseeuw Thank you. I live in South Africa and Esty shipping is more than x10 times the cost of the fabric itself. But thank you for the advise.
Thank you for explaining the fabric so well!! You have beautiful pieces
@@georgiamayjay thank you Georgia!
These are amazing examples! ❤️
SO helpful. Thank you so much
Thank you Javier! What questions could I talk about next?
@@SaskiaterWelleRisseeuw oh hello, well maybe you can talk about how the tambour embroideries are put onto a haute couture dress.
@@javiersolis7265 great idea! Thanks for responding.

@@sduhecheva5516 yes, you chose a needle with the thread you use.
How do you copy design to the fabric? Pls do a video on that

Sure! But it is the best fabric to start with. Etsy is a place where you can find anything you need.
@@SaskiaterWelleRisseeuw Any other fabric you can recommend?
@@jamie-leejansen8297 no , it really is the fabric to start with.

You could also try using chiffon
