- Joe Bonamassa sits in with Guthrie Trapp at the Kitchen Downtown in Nashville. Joe plays a Grammatico Amps Tweed Pro style amplifier with a 15" speaker. His Fender Esquire was plugged straight in. Solo at 3:45 Jimmy Wallace on keyboard, Nick Govrik on bass, Josh Hunt on drums. Look who else walks in ;)
Joe B going all Roy Buchanan on the Tele volume knob, love it ! Guthrie T is a cool cat and I dig his style also . Well done boys 👍
Thats who he reminded me of
Just love incognito Joe just rolling off that tone! To be in that room. Yeah, baby!, 🔥🎸
Everytime I've gone up to Nashville it ends up being a wild time. You never know who you will see in all the cool bars around town . This is killer . Would have love to have been at this. Thanks for sharing!
Different aproaches. Nicely done! Awesome cats
Damn, i want to live in Nashville. Guthrie and Bonamassa swapping licks while Billy Gibbons just casually walks in like he's Mr. Nobody. What an awesome environment
it's so nice the way Billy acknowledges them...
I live and play in Nashville and this a rare moment. A lot of great artists live here now but the city is a dumpster fire now. Violence and theft are out of control. The replants ruined a great city
@@careybradfordguitar Dem mayor….Dem judges….Soros funded DA….yep that explains it
Isn't it tho! I live maybe, 2 hrs. away near KnoxvilleTn- gotta get 2 Music city more often 😅
Classy all the way ❤🎸🎹🎷@@brachashighhopeshomestead226
That's just a lot of fun. So cool to hear these guys in this context. Musicians just playing music and entertaining a room.
Bloody heck. I'm coming to Nashville.
Such a treat for the customers.....cozy entertainment!
Nick Govrik from Trigger Hippie on bass and vocals
i believe he owns the place they are playing .
I need to get into the city more often!
How many people can follow joe and then keep their cool when Billy walks in. Good god man. Amazing.
Just a filthy groove. Maximum swagger
Well THAT was good. I just wouldn’t tell anyone that I “play the guitar” if I lived in Nashville :)
I gig regularly in Nashville and there’s many many good players here.
That's awesome that Guthrie acted like he would hand that Tele off to Billy. I'm sure he would've and it would have been awesome for Billy to just literally start jamming right there with them.
So good
JJ!
Can you share the title of the song??
As a guitarist, walking into a little hole in the wall and GT and JB are playing, well, it can't get much better than that!
This is just so cool. Hopefully Reverend Billy will be out promoting his newly released album and we can finally all get back to attending live music events. Great show guys. Happy to see two great guitar players sharing the stage.
Right at the height of coof madness.... 👍
Awesome
Wow thanks for posting.BF Gibbons just walked in.
Guthrie’s part was soulful. 👏🏼
Pure fire 🔥- cooking with gas.
Joe channeling his inner Jeff Beck (RIP) This is the best I ever heard him play. Far better than his pentatonic acrobatics he displays at huge concerts
Joe can play any style he chooses and very well for that matter but most people pay big money to hear the " acrobatics" at his shows.
Everybody was awesome but Joe had the advantage of being louder than every else. As good and ripping as Joe was, If Guthrie had been louder his solo would've stood above everyone I believe.
Ole watasha would’ve been proud of this tasty jam! Killer version, also the girl in the very first of the video is so familiar to me for some reason and I can not for the life of me figure out why?!?!?!
awe yea. shout out from 504
7:20 Damn, I'm like...ok let's see what Guthrie's gonna come back at Bonamassa with, cos we know it's gonna be an all-in killer solo...and then, I'm like oh look those folks are coming in right for the solo and .....wait, what? that beard... it's effing Billy Gibbons ???? wtf seriously :D A "normal" weekend at Nashville I guess lol
does anyone know name of first song
I think this happens every Thursday? I have to get down there
Was that Billy Gibbons?! Mmmusic!!👍👍
Should’ve read the comments first lol. That’s it I’m moving back to Nashville lol
The most gangster shit I’ve ever seen 😂
That open keyboard line…damn
Does anyone know the name of this tune and who the original recording artist is? Thanks.
Clyde by JJ Cale.
Did anyone else notice how Billy Gibbons just casually strolling said hi and then hauled ass
I apologize in advance for my ignorance but what tune is this?
Then Billy G just casually walks in near the end? Are you kidding?
That’s so F’ing cool…
the girl though
No leads !just rhythm 🎵
Anyone know what song this is?
Sweet lead telecaster ….
No drunk Bon Jovi guy!
whos the dude on the keys
Jimmy Wallace
OMG…at first glance I thought the singer was Jon Favreau lol
Give the drummer some. 10 minutes of pure pocket.
Oh man that's the first thing came to my mind 1 minute into the song. Sooooo tight.
honestly my favourite style of drumming this, nothing showy, no frill, just pure groove that when it finishes you realise you’ve been nodding your head nonstop for the entire duration of the song
When it comes to dynamics, taste, style...well, there’s Guthrie and then there’s everyone else. Best player for my ears!
I am a GT fan. Joe is obviously awesome, but Guthrie you just have such taste... And you are so in the pocket. All that to say I agree with Bone Dust's comment!
...and creativity...he's too much!
So Guthrie Trapp, Joe Bonnamasa, Nick Govrik and Billy Gibbons walk into a bar……
...and great music happens.
Just another day in Nashville!!
What an amazing night all the way around! Glad you were there. It’s been a hell of a few weeks here in music city ..guitar town. Pinch me 👍🎶😎
Great playing as always GT love the Latin flavor and I think the new Floyd tele is officially broken in!!
Love your guitar style .
Man you are amazing!! Joe great too! Loved your reaction to Billy. I wish I was there listening to your excellent playing.
I have to admit I'd have been a bit in awe if I looked up while playing, and the Reverend Willy G. was staring at me with a grin. Your reaction seemed pretty cool.
Hey Guthrie what is the name of this song?
Guthrie has nerves of steel. If I was in the middle of a song and I noticed Rev. Willie peering over my shoulder I think I'd feel alittle under pressure!
@yricyric.....Guthrie did a tenure with The Don Kelley Band playing at Robert's like 4 or 5 nights a week for years . ......trust me NOTHING would faze him. Teeth are CUT ✂️
@@bcummings2187and he's by far the best guitar player in the room...unless Jack Pearson's in there. I don't think GT is feeling pressure...
Got me under pressure
Why would Guthrie be nervous? He’s the best player by a long shot in that whole town
🤣 people walking past not knowing there are legends inside…
People walking by see legends in the bars playing every weekend. Not atypical for downtown Nashville.
Kudos to the drummer who laid it down with no meandering. He made them cats sound great
definitely
I like how everybody tightened up when Billy G walked in 🤣
you mean how their heels were trying to join with a click....:-)
You can see GT thinking, "dammit! Wish I hadn't a took that last drink!"
Except that bass player. Lol. Dudes got a bounce in his step that’s just fun to watch. The man is grooving.
Wow! You just never know Who's gonna drop in?
I thought that was him.
Joe is great but Guthrie Trapp is a BAD man! The dissonance at the start of his solo was Gatton-like...his right hand is amazing...he takes the last solo for a reason...nice!
I think Joe got a whole new appreciation and respect for Nashville guitar legends, like Guthrie Trapp. Dudes like BG coming in during your solo and stopping to say hello while he’s shredding. That’s a pretty rad impression to make. I realize they all know each other but that was pretty well timed awesomeness.
Shhheeit i like joe,but those Nasville dawgs are on a whole different level. You can say it.
wow: the Reverend's beauty chick.... (!!) ;-) :-)
Keyboard man sounds great . Great tone joe
And the Reverend just drops by. Just like that! :)
@@newenglandguitarman3345 look again. Bonnamassa did the exact holy shit moment.
yeah...but they had to leave early, because the lady with Billy said it's too loud for me....:-)
JB showed you what a scale is, GT showed you what playing guitar is.
Was that Billy Gibbons walking throuh halfway through? Joe, Guthrie, and Billy all in the same place??? I need to get to Nashville one of these days
I love that the rev, Billy Gibbons just strolls in… awesome!!
How can people walk in the street while this guitar show Plays in a bar ? Cheers from a Gutthrie french fan 🎸🥰
Love Gutherie’s playing , now that’s chops, musicality and humility , but does JB really need to piss on every tree, he seems to feel the need to be and sit in everywhere…. sorry, i really don’t need him and his albeit very popular brand of corny blues rock, enough that he made blues rock for me unlistenable… not my cup of tee at all
If I were Guthrie I'd tell Joe just to sit and watch. Bonamassa's solo is just noise. Guthrie shows how to tastefully build a solo that's actually interesting.
Give Joe a few minutes and he will ruin the groove and begin playing meaningless runs that sound annoying and have no connection to an overall theme or melody. And the "stage" in this joint is horrible.
Joe's playing is so one dimensional... youd think he'd learn more than one scale and his usual (Eric Johnson) pentatonics. I dont really get what people see in his playing.
And Jon Favreau on bass!
The drummer is phenomenal!! I’ve seen him before.
Wow, BFgibbons leaning in to say hi during a jam - there’s a box ticked
I was thinking the same.
Song title please? Thanks 🙏💯💕
listen to jb blow a thousand notes with no phrasing. the most overrated, overblown blues metal shreddy of all time.
whats the name of this song?
This is one of those shows you talk about for a long time, just due to the club size and level of CATS in the house. Sick.
Theres no other music scene on the planet like Nashville. First time I went I could not get o er the fact that there was literally live music alllllll the time everywhere. I didn’t want to leave.
Guthrie ftw. Its not about notes per minute, its how you play them :)
guthrie nailed it.....
giving absolute country feel.
[Bonamassa shredded then Guthrie brought it back to Nashville. Then Billy F. Gibbons walked in and what must that have been like!]
The playing and tone is noth off of the hook AND chain. Just awesome.😎🎸👍 This seemed to be one of those 'magical' live performances, where everything played just sounded right, perfect, and again that tone. WoW!! I have listened to this quite a few times, just cant get enuff. The organ player also sounded perfect, which surprizes mr to say because I really dont like the organ. Not a hater, nothing against any organist, its not my thing. But here it works ( I do enjoy the organ on a few more songs as well).
Dang…, what a treat and an honor being able to catch those guys at that kind of venue, world class musicians right there
Who would go out of their way to give this a thumbs down ? Im bemused. This is a great performance by the way. Love sounds they’re all making.
Its most likely because Joe Bonamassa is in it.
I don’t get how you could hate someone so much. The only things I could imagine giving thumbs down to are unethical or immoral behaviour of some kind or another.
@@JamesVytas But they got you to comment didn’t they ? Anything for attention but they are the complete opposite of anybody who enjoyed this.
You’re right. It’s inconsequential for the most part. I was just observing it and trying to understand the thought process behind it. See it on videos everywhere. Should just have a thumbs up. Thumbs down doesnt serve any good purpose. Most cases it’s a purely cynical action. Hail Cesar!
Two of the most humble cats out there...
Thanks to whomever posted this and the Blues Deluxe video! Masterful!
where is bukovac when you need him :)
He's at home... skoolin'
@@GrammaticoAmps LOL watching it now when you replied lmao! P.S. Nice amp build!

Is this a normal night out in Nashville?? Lol. I'd definitely end up an alcoholic!
6:29 - cool keyboard comping riff right there.
6:33 - and here, too.
I enjoy this better than the concert scene.
7.24.....Billy (god) Gibbons is on his way home......what a gig......and Joe plays in the band.....i wish i had been there.....fantastic stuff.....!!!!
It’s great seeing joe take the applause and enjoying it 👍
Great sounding Pro, John. Did Billy end up sitting in?
Thanks Stan! You're the tweed Pro ;) Billy did not sit in. He was with his lady friend :)
@@GrammaticoAmps Smart man that Billy G ! 😎
wow, looks like all the cool cats hang out here! Where's uncle Larry 😆at the bar?
Great to see my wonderful friend Jimmy Wallace on keys... Outstanding musician !!! Those other guy's are pretty good, too ... 😉
Dude on 🎹 keys can wail😮❤!!
Incredible. GT.......what can I say. Everyone knows who Joe Bonamassa is......time everyone knows who GT is. .......Jeff Beck.......bless his heart and RIP.......took.........cough .....Johnny Depp on the road with him ? All the guy knows is a G string.
JB killed it this night for sure. Nice to see the Rev walk in on GTs solo
Joe should play material he’s not that familiar with more often. It was great to hear him not just playing Eric Johnson patterns over everything!
That comment is to lame to be worthy of an insult...
@@timhoovermusicman why would you insult someone for holding a different opinion than you?
"Glyde Plays Electric Base" One of my favorite songs growing up I loved the song! But I know these two guys are supposed to be Nashville's premier guitar players and I know there trying to make the song their own (but), I absolutely hated it from a fan perspective!! You know kind of like American Idol where it seems the only winners are the ones that sing all these (runs) and who can sing the highest notes...that's just not what country music is, and neither is seeing how many or how fast you can run through scales!! I'm 65 played my whole life and (yes) these two are way better at guitar then I will ever be (but), I guarantee I could do this song way better (making it my own) to where the listeners would prefer mine over their version (without) all the needless (endless) scale runs their jamming into their version (with all due respect)! At 3:40 on the timeline is where this whole performance went to shit for me anyways!!
I think while "runs and scales" are valuable tools for guitarists, it's essential for you to balance technical proficiency with musicality and creativity. Overemphasis on technical exercises at the expense of musical expression can lead to sterile and uninspired playing. Ultimately, the goal for every guitarist even me is to use runs and scales as means of enhancing your musical storytelling and connecting with the audience on a deeper level. Scales provide a roadmap for navigating through chord progressions and creating cohesive musical phrases on the fly, but at some point, you just have to realize you're going deeper into a rabbit hole you might not be able to pull yourself out of.....too many scales and runs can burry you and I think that's what is happening here!! Granted Guthrie seems to be better than most at getting "somewhere" then back again not burying himself but still I think there needs to be a vibrant independent country music scene where artists can push boundaries and experiment with new sounds while still staying true to the roots of country music. Just an honest opinion from a nobody!
Just made me a Bonamassa fan. Woah. Pretty sick stuff.
People give him crap, but they need to see what he’s just messing around in places like this! He’s unreal. So so good
I'm doubling down on my statement. This is so filthy. That tweed sound with the tele is absolutely insane. It's a perfect moment in guitar sounds. Bonamassa is next level. If that run of notes just came out of him improvisationally then he is the best.
@@Mr2012jerome watch his Royal Albert Hall show... Django or mountain time is otherworldly. The Beacon theatre show opens with slow train! He also was in a band called black country communion with Glen Hughes. Joe is the best.
@@daviddowns16 I've seen people say he can't sing or he's got no feeling... How stupid.
@@timhoovermusicman just bought two tickets for when he comes to Arkansas in October 🤘🏻
I just love the fact that there is a bar anywhere that the band blocks the front door and those 3 monsters are just hanging out.

What kind of keyboard is Jimmy Wallace playing ? It's got a great organ sound, much better than my Roland.
