ALF follows the adventures of Gordon Shumway, a furry, wise-cracking alien from the planet Melmac who crash lands into the garage of the Tanner family. The Tanners offer him a home and give him the nickname ALF, short for “Alien Life Form.” Created by Tom Patchett (The Carol Burnett Show) and Paul Fusco (who also performed as ALF), the half-hour sitcom rose to popularity in the late 1980s, cementing itself in the pop culture zeitgeist.

And of course I watched Alf. But hey, at least the part with the nuclear energy was done here in Germany. Just took 40 years…

When I lose my grandma in 2014, my lifestyle was incomplete but I do have my bro,
my mom and others around me. It makes me feel alive even I'm rewatching ALF again.

According to some rumors back than, this was actually supposed to be final episode of the show as network supposedly decided to cancel the show. Therefore, ALF was originally indeed supposed to leave Earth. However, at the very last moment, producers changed their mind and re-wrote the ending.

Willie and Brian make a radio contact with another Melmacian, Skip, who says he is "headed for Andromeda". Since Andromeda is 2.5 *million* light years away, Skip obviously has to be using *faster-than-light* traveling if he's ever going to make it there, so how can he have a radio contact with Willie when radio signals travel "only" at the speed of light?
They have alien technology.

When this was made they were promised another season but due to actors feeling unsafe & other reasons 🤷♂️ the show was canceled 😞 😐 Did you see the movie they made???
@@chrisgreene335 yes, it was made a few years later on ABC, to try and tie up the story. Without the Tanners, it was only so-so, but better than nothing.

They could only contact while they were driving by or near Earth. I thought it was pretty clear this was his only chance of anyone he knew being close enough to communicate.

My birthdate is 7-20-81
i noticed since watching this show, they family really cares about their cats. my parents wouldnt have cats in our family if it wasnt for my dad. but over the years they have ignored the cats and i stepped in to take care of them as best i could. but it doesnt help that they are forced to live outside in a makeshift dog kennel where i have found tarantula spiders inside, snakes, lizards, and black widow spiders. we live out in the middle nowhere and bob cats have been spotted and coyotes can be heard. when i go in to take care of them my male cat tries to escape and it scares the shit out of me. these poor kitties need to be inside where its safe, warm, and they are protected from the elements. and fed real cat food and not expired cans of tuna. makes me sad seeing them having to live this way.

@@favoritemustard3542 yes... I think they have to cut songs out because of copyright claims...you know, UA-cam rules... But it's a shame. My local channel which showed ALF when I first watched it was a private channel so they would cut out pieces of episodes so they can fit more ads (I wish there was some law against that). So I hoped here I'd finally be able to watch them unchanged, but sadly no
@@IrisGalaxis It's not UA-cam rules, it's because they used the syndicated version which has a few cut scenes per episode, they wouldn't just give the uncut episode for free.
