Excellent video, to the point and no unnecessary talking. I subbed!
Thank you so much:)
I know it is only 1 sub but this gets you closer to 100. Keep up the good work. 👍
Thank You So Much...You Are Greatly Appreciated
Look at him now!
Great video. Very well narrated and easy to see the process. Wish my colorado was that clean underneath.
Thank you so much i really appreciate it. Did urs have an oil leak or is it from offroading or something else?
Backyard Chevy my trucks are in MA and the state has started using chemicals in our winters. It eats our paint and rusts the metals like nothing.
oh its like the salt they use to melt snow and ice...but they use like magnesium chloride now...that explains why this camaro we got from pennsylvania, the block and transmission aluminum and bolts were really corroded and makes em hard to remove.
Thank you, I’m about to change oil in my 2006 GMC Canyon. I’ve never changed oil before so this was very helpful. Hopefully I can the filter off - truck has been sitting for a long time and trying to get it on the road again. Thank you!!!❤😊
yessir in the same predicament with my 05 colorado been sitting seven years 😂
Same here. My first time changing oil. It's on a 2005 Colorado.

@Cbiggnutts hey, do you know why he doesn't let it sit and completely drain every old drop of oil. He said to only let it come to a "slow dribble."
I dont know where the drain plug bolt is its hard to see with the video exactly where it is
The drain bolt will be facing the drivers side front tire, the camera is positioned right in front of the driver's side front tire
Great Video....gives me confidence to work on my truck again.
So glad to be able to help🙂 thank you🙂
Why do you only drain the oil to a "slow dribble?" Why not let it sit and completely drain?
Do you need to replace the oil filter each time you change the oil?
You can change it every other time you do a oil change
very helpful! If I can do this anyone can do this.
Thank you:) Im glad it was able to help u out to complete ur oil change...maybe in the future my channel will be able to help u out further:) please consider subscribing id really appreciate the help to get to 1k:) thank you once again.
Very helpful! Thank you!
So glad to be able to help...thank you for the support
I have a GMC canyon same as the Colorado 🤙🏾
What's the torque for the drain plug?
19ft lbs.
Thorough but short and sweetened to the point
Thank you!!!!
Thank you:)
The threads are regular right, not reverse
Yea, counterclockwise to loosen and to remove the filter
@@backyardchevy328 ya I looked on the new one, thank you though
@@Sneakshot88 sounds good🙂👍 thank you for the support
I like your Floor Jack lol- I live in Pittsburgh :)
Lol I really love the low profile pittsburgh one i have...that one started squeaking really bad a few months in unfortunately..but greetings from California🙂👍
This helped me a lot
So glad to hear it🙂
On my colorado is on front of motor sticking towards front end and its a smaller filter
Yea the oil changes on this one are pretty easy to do
Isn't there another way oil just gets everywhere when the filter gets taken out.
They actually make filter removal cups to catch oil but some people make their own as well
@@backyardchevy328 got it thanks
Do you have to reset it after the oil change?
Where is the oil pressure switch on this vehicle? Getting an oil light during driving but mostly while idling at stops.
Its right above the oil filter behind the tensioner
@@backyardchevy328 thanks man. Hope its this and not the oil pump. Thanks again.
@@andrewm5190 is oil up to the level? Do u know what oil weight u used?
@@backyardchevy328 oil level looked good on the truck. Looked like the oil has been recently changed as well. 5w30 is what we have been using. It has been and on and off kind of issue. Mostly happens at stop lights or if the vehicle idles for long.
@@andrewm5190 hopefully just the oil pressure switch, what i would do is rent a oil pressure tester from autozone and test it manually..or try changing oil and see if a 5w-40 would help
any one knows how many oil i have to put in a 2004 chevy colorado?
The 2.8l uses 5 quarts the 3.5l uses 6 quarts
is 5 cilindres, is 2.6 i tink, can you help me?
@@danielcorrales504 the 5 cylinder is the 3.5l..the 4 cylinder is the 2.8l
ok, tank you so much
@@danielcorrales504 de nada..gracias por el apoyo
Than again mine is a 2.8 4 cylinder 😉
Is it much different on the 4 cylinder?
@@backyardchevy328 No, but the oil filter is accessible from the top if you have long arms. I LOVE MY 05 2.8L Z71 ext. Cab 2WD manual. I have had it 7 years and 115000 miles. It now has 178K, just did oil change and fuel filter and its running like a top. The electrical problems are annoying. I have a contractor topper on it, heavy duty springs, and airlift.
thank you.
Thank you for the support🙂
5 are 4 cylinder?
The one on video is a 5 cylinder
Thank you
Thank you for supporting me🙂
What tool is that for the filter
Theyre called oil filter wrench's
@@backyardchevy328 thank you so much
@@bdills89 anytime🙂 thank you for the support
great video thanks
Thank you i really appreciate it:)
Great video!!
Thank You🙂 Really appreciate it
Are you trying to talk fast on purpose??
No it was just me trying to get comfortable talking on camera, it was one of my first videos, so ive corrected all that.
Thanks!
Is this guy speaking english?
I guess not, i know my vocals were bad back then..lol but didnt think that bad
Yes - why be rude? He’s trying to help people out - for free!
@@MarthaMyDear6I appreciate his help, but I wasn’t rude in asking a legitimate question.
@@VitalArms okay, but still think even the “this guy” sounds rude to me. And you clearly hear he is speaking English.
I have 2006 GMC Canyon and it’s a pain to work on. I’d be happy if someone had a video in SIGN LANGUAGE with this crappy truck, lol!
Thanks again, @backyardchevy328 !
@@MarthaMyDear6 well it’s unfortunate you’re offended on the behalf of someone else for seemingly nothing offensive. Even he chuckled at the fact he knows he didn’t speak clearly. And in his subsequent videos his pronunciation of words has improved greatly. So that fact that you’re offended by criticism is worrisome.
