As a Glock 43x owner, these guns effectively made it completely obsolete. I own an X-Macro too but it doesn’t shoot as well as I’d like it to. I can’t wait to get my hands on this one
David, thank you so much for continuing to provide us such great content. I own and love the MC9 in its original format and the one positive that I’d add regarding that gun is the ability to choose between the 12 and 10 round magazines changes the profile of the gun when carrying it. With that said, I can’t wait to get my hands on and test the new ones.
I collect these Caniks cause they have not disappointed me yet at all. So definitely I will be getting one of these preferably the LS model. Thanks for this amazing review.
There is a 3rd party company that makes a 3-d printer mag plate that actually fills the whole bottom, no gap on the back side of the grip. It’s awesome.
Canik coming out with all these smaller guns, yet I’m still carrying my SFX with optic and light IWB every day 😂 it might be time to start carrying something smaller
Canik has released a new 15+1 magazine with a much-improved extension than the original extension for the MC9. Unfortunately, they are not selling the extension separately, making you buy the complete magazine. I wish they would make a more useable pinky extension for the 12 rounders too. Thanks for the video.
I'm a smaller dude, I've been running the mc9 daily for about a year now with the mecanik MO1 for the last couple months. I love it. My only real complaint is how snappy it is but honestly I think dealing with that is making me a better shooter
Saying the slide is light and needs a super heavy recoil spring and slight serrations on the slide doesn't really hold up when a g19 is also 24 oz and the g43/48 weigh less and have the same slide width with better serrations. Edit: all caniks are over-sprung
I heard from the Honest Outlaw video that this can take Canik’s standard 18rd mags. Is this confirmed? Also, I know you don’t have a lot of time on it yet but how do you like it compared to the x macro?
The MC9's short grip was desgined for the flush mag concealability, not comfort. And the extended mags cutout was likely designed for minimal printing. But I understand your gripe
That's a cop out. The base plate on the extended magazine could have easily been made to fill in that space and give a better grip. Instead they left it empty.
@@albundy06 How is it a "cop out" lol.. It's a micro 9 buddy. They are all designed around maximum concealability firstly.. not how good it feels in your hand. The rear bottom end of the frame grip is what prints the most, the cutout allows for less printing, simple as that
@@TTime685 Nope. It's not as simple as that. The grip stops short, the magazine keeps going. What you going to tell me next? A Glock 26 prints the same with a 19 mag in it because the grip is small! Does my sig print less with the 17 round mag in it or the 12 round mag with the back of the grip filled in.... Let's go to the extreme. Let's carry a Glock 26 with the 33 round magazine! It doesn't make the back of the frame any bigger so.....
@@albundy06 🤦🏼♂️The bottom rear corner of any pistol is what prints most noticeably.. If you angle it or cut it out like the MC9 is drastically helps the "pointiness" of the print on your shirt/clothing. Why do you think they make angled mag extensions for your pinky finger..? It helps get a full grip while keeping the printing reduced.. You clearly don't carry much or don't understand printing very well..
@@TTime685 And I'll add some more. What other similar guns to mc9 do the same thing with their included factory magazines? Shield plus.. nope. Springfield nope. All the rest of them... NOPE! Why is it that when I did a search just now for the 15 round magazines for the gun. Canik themselves now offer the magazines with a full base plate? All the things they love to include in the box with their guns, yet they couldn't be bothered to include that if it wasn't going to be the default....
I can't tell you how frustrating it is as a former Walther fanboy that Walther has utterly dropped the ball and neglected their CCW options. I was expecting them to answer the P365 5 years ago, and yet Canik has now left them in the dust. I've been begging Walther for a PPS/PPQ hybrid for 10 years.
How do you feel about this pistol vs PDP as far as shoot ability. I have the xmacro and find myself liking the sig p320 better because of size so I'm looking at the new PDP.
Not sure which PDP you're talking about - but the regular PDP would be more like your full size P320 in terms of impulse. This has a smaller, lighter slide so it will jump more than a bigger heavier slide with a full size grip that spreads out the force better.
Endless options now closing the gap with no daylight between micro compacts and the Glock 19-so weird that pistol manufacturers don’t add texture further up the grip on the side, almost like they want more slickness to reach mag catch but that’s such an outdated idea, thumbs forward is the standard grip so everything should be textured as much as possible 😅
@@Asidebar i will still take the Hk over that Can-ick. Do a comparison on handgun hero, it aint that far off, the Vp9sk also takes the full size p30/vp9 mags..

Hey, I'm not a fan of Turkey myself. But, I have absolutely no problem with Canik. They have only gotten better and better since they started. They wanted to get in on the American market and they actually listened to the American customers. I haven't seen anything beat the Rival in terms of performance since it came out.

Mete SF redux. Mete SF was slept on, good on Canik for bringing it back to the front of the line.
No, the SF is a wider pistol, about 1.25" across the slide. The MC9 series are slimline pistols, like the P365 and Shield.
