- Hello my loves!! People have been asking about a BOS video for ages so here is the first one! There are so many ways that you can organize your book so don't worry if you have a different idea about what you want to do. There are loads of wonderful etsy sellers and makers who have lovely customizable pieces so I put some in this video.

A secret from the art world: if you make art you are an artist. I see those beautiful illustrations and calligraphy, texture and color choices. Also, hair, fashion, and video editing is art too!

When I get mine I’m putting meme stickers on it... so people think it’s just a sketchbook, I try to make it look normal so if I take it outside, then it’s *just a sketchbook* because I’m in the broom closet

Love this! I've got ADHD and I can't work with binders without it feeling wrong, so I'm using an A5 notebook with the plan to set it up bullet journal style! That way when I inevitably forgot herbs (like I have already), crystals etc. I can just put it in my index and still have the ability to refer back to it!

I have a "work book" that i use basically as a magickal journal/ "rough draft" for my grimoire which is a WHOLE art project😂✌💜🌙
Mine is in a 3-ring binder too... with a custom cover (I actually sell BOS covers for 3-ring binders).

It’s crazy how the universe provides what you NEED in the MOMENT it’s needed. Although this video is almost a year old, I’m excited to find this channel. Each witch is different, there is no specific way. I just told a fellow witch, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been practicing, we learn new things each day. I look forward to binging your videos.

my grandma has this medicinal plants, herbs, and flowers' book that is so darn useful!
it includes what are they used for, the parts of the plant that can be used, the contradictions, and so much more. when i have the chance, i'll include the name of the book if i get to find the english version (since her book is in spanish lol). i'm only a beginner but i recommend everyone who studies herbs and plants to study from these types of books. 😊

I am a notebook queen. I have a notebook for tarot readings specifically. I have one for crystal work. I used my bos as a journal. Documenting ideas, visions, notes, feelings, ANYTHING witchy. Witchcraft isn't homework. My Grimwoir is a reference material. I usually have that digital. If I felt the need to write it or keep it physical, binder all the way. You want to be able to find exactly what you need when you need it. Keep in mind the internet will always be there. Witchcraft is not homework. Have fun. Only write when/what you feel like.

I have never been great about recording my practise... But when I do, I break it down almost exactly like this. My BOS is my course work and my Grimoire is the finalized stuff. I have found breaking up both into sections really helps, especially when looking for something.
YES to the binder tip, switching from a regular notebook to a binder is what finally got me started after months of tiptoeing around it ! I kept all of my research in digital form and never wrote anything down for a long time because I was always afraid of messing things up or not knowing how to organise things. A binder takes all of that stress away. If you don't like how a page comes out it's easy to just do it again, you can organise things etc. I love that if I want to add a subject I can just start a new page, it makes it so much easier to get work done instead of being stuck because you don't know how much space you're going to need or because it doesn't go with what you wrote before. I know its not the most aesthetically pleasing choice but you can always transfer it to another book when you feel more confident !

Scrap books are good as well, just make sure it has the pins that screw in and unscrew so you can add, change, or take things out as you want.

I just moved to Oregon, something has always drawn me to the area. For the first couple weeks before I moved I was having dreams about witches, mind you I have had dreams about an "evil witch" since I was a kid. It got me interested in researching witches though and I have fallen down into the magical rabbit hole an am now starting my own practice with my partner. We went foraging today and found a bunch of supplies for spells and I have seen some beautiful grimoires on UA-cam so now I am interested in making one. I love your channel and appreciate your honesty and genuine desire to help other people. You're such a kind and soothing person to watch. Getting into practicing magic and learning more about the craft is really helping me with my anxiety. As I said I have always felt very drawn to Oregon for years, and I finally worked the courage up to move here with my partner. I have been so happy and my mental health is getting a lot better so I'm looking forward to learning more and watching more of your videos. Sorry for the long comment! Thank you for your videos!! 💞💞

I made my own bos binder because of you! It looks good for now but later I'll make another I'm sure. Complete with rainbow tabs and fabric with sparkly shiny planetscape. I absolutely love your idea and spent about 50 bucks getting supplies for an easy bos binder! Ill show you on insta! ❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing this! I love the idea of having your "rough draft" binder and then copying it into your permanent Grimoire when you've solidified. I struggle so much with figuring out how to set mine up. I finally just started one so I had something with the knowledge that I'll end up copying it over into something different once I solidify my style/practice/knowledge. Using a binder - and gluing fabric to it - love that!! - is a really helpful idea!

I have a spell book about my magick, experiences, and all about how to do spells and stuff. And my book of Shadows has everything about Wicca and different deities and holidays, and overall it's more generalized.

For my bos I started with journal like prompts, like "what are your interests in this subject?" Or "what would you like to gain from this?" Since I'm a baby witch I thought it'd be a good start :)

I don't really know why I was so hesitant to start one, but you really helped me understand the importance of it. But also the somewhat casual nature of it too. It doesn't need to be some perfect, spell filled tome. It's about my journey, my learning, and my discoveries. Light and love to you!

im really trying to find a Protection spell for my book of shadows. having a hard time creating one or finding one that calls out to me...
You can find tons online then try to cross-reference or combine some lines and take out what's not necessary. You can also try to improvise a spell that was already written so that it could fit according to your way.
Protection jar spells are great for long term protection and protection candle spells are good for a boost, I find!
Would you use a Sigil?
I slapped a sigil on mine that simply prevents anyone who would open it from being able to use those spells, like they can read the spells but they won't work for them or they'll backfire. Imma put some other sigils in it too once I think of some other ways to protect it.
