This is extremely helpful, thanks! This is still such a new product that it's been difficult to find any reviews, nevermind comparisons to the Excalibur. The Sedona is more expensive, but it sounds like it's a much more functional, well-buit and quiet unit.
FINALLY a decent consumer dehydrator! I was ready to build my own dehydrator since I don't like the excalibur (which is also very expensive considering how cheap and easy it is to make). But now I won't need to since the Sedona has most of the features I was planning on putting into mine. Awesome!
I apologize for the problems that occurred with the Sedona. The best thing to do is follow the warranty procedures of tribest to get the machine back asap. Defects with the Sedona have been rare, but when they do occur, its not fun for anyone. I hope Tribest got the situation resolved to your satisfaction and you are again up and dehydrating.
If I didnt sell the units and was a consumer, I would go with the excalibur, due to the longer warranty, and lower price point. Of course, the Sedona offers some unique features and other "bells and whistles" that some people may be willing to pay extra for. I tend to be fairly thrify in life.
Thanks for the comparison. What is the minimum temperature setting on the Sedona? It looks like it is a great quality dehydrator with it's extra features. Does anyone want to buy a gently used Excalibur? ;)
Its my front yard. I encourage everyone to grow a portion of their own food in their front or back yard. Its more nutritious and tastes better. Do a youtube search for growingyourgreens to find my youtube channel where I teach people about growing their own food.
In my testing the Sedona is quietier than the Excalibur. How much? Tough to say exactly. I would estimate "about" half as loud. Its fairly quiet, and has no rattling.
Of all the customers we have sold sedona's to, I have head less than a handful of complaints so far. I havent heard anything else than that. So I would guess more people are satisfied with it.
hi John . how low will the temperature go . i like to stay under 115 degrees . i have a nesco 5 tray which works fine but i want to upgrade . i've heard some horror stories about the excalibur and the fuse and bad customer support . thx .good video !
John, I have read one really bad review about the Sedona dehydrator on amazon. Now that some time has passed, what are people saying about Excalibur vs Sedona?
I really don't like the polypropylene trays and mesh. I just simply don't trust the material. Is there a good quality dehydrator that has stainless steel trays? Thank you.
So come on then John!! You've had 4 months to review which is the best one to purchase (which would you buy??) .....I need your HELP please!!.... i'm on the verge of buying my first dehydrator i'm in the uk so i'm new to this.... i really like the Sedona it looks more classier than the excalibur but looks arn't everything, but i did hear that the excalibur has a fan problem even in the newer model which one should i purchase i don't want to buy a white elephant Kind Regards Tracey
As a newbie to the raw and living food world I think I'll be getting the Sedona dehydrator thanks for this really appreciate it!

The excalibur gets "warmer" to the touch on the outside. I would not say it gets "hot". The Sedona is a bit more "insulated" in this way.
pretty dramatic difference in build quality - very interesting video. looking forward to the part 2 :)
Looks like a lot more can go wrong with the Sedona and expensive to repair. The Excalibur is a simple easy to repair time tested design.
Thanks. This helps me a lot. It's a little pricier but if it lasts me a while, the money is worth it.

John, you are a machine!
Does the sedona or excalbur get hot to the touch on the sides. I want to put it on my boat.
Where is the Sedona manufactured and how long is the warranty?
Wow that looks really awesome!! Thank you for reviewing
John, I have read one really bad review about the Sedona dehydrator on amazon. Now that some time has passed, what are people saying about Excalibur vs Sedona?
1. Heating element not working
2. Temperature regulation was too low (this has been corrected by re-programming in all current models of the sedona)

This is coming soon... So stay tuned.. I will have a video on it as soon as I can..

5 Year Warranty
It will go to 86 degrees on the low end.
BPA FREE Polypropylene
Pushing is better, as heat is not good for the fan itself. As for efficiency of heating itself, no real difference.
The Sedona literally costs DOUBLE.... Buy 2 Excalibur.....
