Frank Langella gave an Academy award-winning performance as Skeletor. As a classically trained actor he didn't have to go that hard but he did.
He reminds me of bill Nighy in this
He took the role for his young son who was a huge MOTU fan and it ended up still being arguably his favorite role of his career.
Courtney Cox's boyfriend in this, is played by Robert Duncan mcneil, who is famous for playing tom Paris on star trek voyager.
Now he's a successful TV producer/director.
Also Tom Paris on Lower Decks. Also Tom Paris on Star Trek Online. Also Nick Locarno in TNG and Lower Decks.
Mentioning "famous" and "Star Trek: Voyager" in one sentence is illegal.
@@Muck006 It's going to take 70 years to get home, but we will stop everyday to help other civilizations and planets taking us a week to complete. 😂
@@aTofuJunkieand turn into alien slugs part of the time.
Tom called, he wants his Delta Flyer back.
Gwildor is played by Billy Barty (1924-2000) whom played the High Aldwin (the little old wizard that asks Willow to choose a finger) in Willow :)
The bones have spoken !there will be no apprentice this year!!
Billy Barty was probably the most famous dwarf actor ever, at least until Warwick Davis came along.
@@danielbullock1019 His voice brings me back to childhood instantly :)
I know him from Little House on the Prairie.
i love how they made this movie canon in the recent Revolution Netflix show by brining Gwildor into it and referencing the movie
Meg Foster has the prettiest eyes.
Cobalt Blue, a rare shade usually reserved for albinos, and dogs 💙
Alexandra Daddario competes
No doubt about that. The role almost went to Sarah Douglas (Superman 2/Conan Destroyer) apparently. She could've still done it but think Meg Foster still killed it.
Dolph Lundgren, a Swedish stud and also super smart. He has a master in chemical engineering and is also a former european champion in kyokushin (knockdown karate).
He no doubt is "the real deal." And a super nice guy on top of it. Gave me a nice "Cameo" for being a fan of MOTU.
And if he dies, he dies...
The back story to Skeletor is he's Keldor the brother to King Randor which makes him He-Man's uncle. He was mortally wounded in battle and turned to Hordak to save his life. He was then merged with an extra dimensional being and turned into Skeletor.
But, I don’t think that backstory was written/public knowledge when this movie was originally released.
Even as a kid I knew Man-at-arms was the best character in the film.
I love how seriously Frank Langella took this role lol. He's absolutely chewing it up every second he's on screen. He'd give Darth Sidious a run for his money when it comes to being evil.
The two great unsung villains: Frank Legella's Skeletor and Max von Sydow's Ming. Both just ever so slightly over the top but fit the film around them to perfection and genuinely have some menace to them which is a really neat combo if you can pull it off.
Exactly. Skeletor’s lightning disintegrated Saurod instantaneously. Emporer’s lifhtning was taking forever to even do any damage to Luke. Emporer’s got nothing on Skeletor 💀 🤣.
@@rockstarbd82 Damn right! Skeletor would make short work of any Sith.
Fun fact; while Sylvester Stallone was working on the edit for “Over the Top,” he went to the set of “Masters,” looked at Dolph Lundgren, and yelled to Menahem Golan (the CEO of Cannon Films) “You’re giving this guy lines?” Which considering he was working on “Over the Top” means either Dolph still hadn’t grasped English, or Sly was just that oblivious.
The actor who plays gwildor, also played in the early tom cruise movie legend.
Billy Barty was also the wizard dude in the movie, Willow.
he was also in the weird al movie UHF
Even had a deleted scene role as Dr Pretorius's Mini-Baby Experiment in The Bride of Frankenstien 35'. Thats pretty crazy.
That "One could only hope!" Line had me laughing for ten minutes.
Can't believe nobody mentioned that Tom Paris is in this movie. Remember when he went too fast and turned into a salamander?
No. None of us remember that. Nor do we remember the mysterious gap between Star Trek 4 and Star Trek 6.
Star Trek Vyger right?
And he had Kids with Janeway, which was also turned into a salamander^^
When I was a teen I had a Mad Crush on Evil-Lin.❤❤❤😊
Teela is He-Man's significant other in the comics, the actress that plays her in this movie (Chelsea Field) is married to Scott Bakula. Meg Foster is hot as usual, the most beautiful eyes ever.
Wow.. Never knew that about Bakula. Very cool. Is a shame she seemed to vanish in the 90s always liked her as an actress.
Meg Foster's eyes are exquisite.
Yeah, she made a great Evil Lyn. This movie had to grow on me. I hated it at first.
Meg Foster creeps me right the hell out. She has cyborg eyes.
I didn't know Field was actually married to Bakula but I do remember her having a recurring guest role in NCIS: New Orleans as an occasional love interest for his character and they get married in the series finale, I believe.
I was super impressed with Mrs Movies blocking skills. She really is a Wonder Woman of sorts
This movie has a cult following!
Frank Langella enjoyed Skeletor and said that it's one of his favorite film roles he ever played, and considered Skeletor as his favorite movie villain.
@shainewhite2781 That's cool to know SKELETOR is a great villain , Frank Langella was also really good as Dracula in the 1979 version of Dracula .
His grand kids were big he man fans that's why I took the role he said
Langella really hams it up under that mask and it's the best thing about the movie.
@@jayconant3816 that just reminds me of raoul julia and his portrayal of m. bison in "street fighter". say what you will about the cocainily chaotic movie, but that story is just heart-wrenching.
Frank Langella’s performance as Skeletor is so charismatic it oozes Shakespearean villain vibes.
in defence of that pickle joke....you gotta stop giving him softballs like that maam.😂
He-Man was my 1st fandom. My earliest memories are of being under 5 & this movie & Labyrinth. Tied for my #1 favourite film(s) of all time
The lady in white at the beginning is Christina Pickles. She played Nurse Rosenthal in the 80’s precursor to “ER” - “St. Elsewhere.” (My favorite TV show of all time. If you can find it, it’s worth watching. Tons of big stars started in it; including Denzel Washington, Helen Hunt, David Morse, Howie Mandel and Mark Harmon. Tim Robbins had his first role on the show. Sorry, I get excited talking about it.
Evil Lynn is played by Meg Foster, the chick with freaky blue eyes in “They Live.”
This movie brought “My Science Project,” and “Mega Force” to mind. 80’s cheese is the best cheese!
The first movie to have an end credit scene was The Silencers 1966.
Gwildor was played by Billy Barty. Billy Barty co-stared in the movies Willow with Warwick Davis as the High Aldwin.
Billy Barty also played as the Dwarf Screwball in the movie Legend.
Funny to hear the Evelyn/Evil-Lyn comment. In the original MOTU cartoon treatment, Evil-Lyn was actually an Earthling named Evelyn before coming to Eternia. But in the final show, the only Earthling is He-Man’s mother, Queen Marlena.
My wish is they adapt original 4 books that was released before animation. You will surprise how different that book is. It's like Conan the barbarian on eternia. Very dark and mature, make it rated R for original fans and reap the profits.
Aaah, my childhood! Watched this over and over on VHS...
Actually the first movie with a post-credit stinger scene was the comedy spy film The Silencers from 1966. Great film too.
No, she's right. Time is space and space is time, to travel through one is to travel through the other to an extent.
There are several iterations of the story and I will try to compile and answer your questions..
One is that all of the ancient sorcerers compiled all their magic and hid it deep away in castle Grayskull from the Big bad of the time Hordak and the Horde. Skelator wants this Magic and so is always trying to take castle Grayskull. The Sorceress who guards the castle cannot leave however because part of a big spell they all used to banish the big bad Horde meant that the Sorceress could not leave or the spell would weaken and a new sorceress would always have to take over when she was close to death. However, they can pick a champion. The campion in the original was Prince Adam and she gives him the sword. The sword is a conduit for power and he transforms into He-man to protect the castle, he would lift the sword in the air and say "by the power of Grayskull, I have the power". (Fun fact, the newest iteration of the show has a team that can use the power to transform, kind of like power rangers).
Another version which I think is better and what the movie leans into is this:
Castle Grayskul sits at the literal centre of the universe. This is because a piece of heaven fell from the god’s realm and landed there. When it landed it caused the big bang that created the universe. The planet Eternia is inhabited by all manner of beings and it is literally split down the middle of light and dark with Grayskull on the boarder. The Sorceress is the current guardian of Grayskull and she maintains the balance of good and evil, but she has the power at her fingertips of a god because the one who rules Grayskull effectively has access to the power of creation. This is why she cannot leave the castle but she can choose a Champion. There has been many different sorceress’s throughout the iterations as well as many different Champions who all effectively become the "He-Man", there is Prince Adam, Oo-Lar, Prince Dare, King Grayskull, the original He-Ro and of course Princess Adora who becomes She-RA.
Skelator also has many different origin stories. One is that he is He-Mans (Prince Adams) Uncle Keldor. One story says that King Randors father Miro had an affair with a woman from the "Gar" a race of beings from the dark side of Eternia and they forged a shaky truce and Keldor became an advisor to his half-brother Randor. 2 different stories from this: One is that Keldor and the Gar tried to overthrow Randor and some magic backfired removing Keldors face. Another is that Keldor tired of this role and wanted to devote his time to magic so became a wander. During his travels and while performing magic that he shouldn’t have, he then accidently contacted a strange entity that he began to worship, and this entity promised him powers if he gave himself up. It was Hordak, who possessed him with an evil spirit and Keldor became Skelator.
Another Origin story is that when King Grayskull used the power of the castle to banish the Horde Skelator was left behind and is simply an evil minion of the Horde.
The movie was a commercial flop and was hated by fans because at the time of release there was only two different iterations of He-Man and one of them was barely even known (comics). The films budget was halved right before start and the script radically changed to incorporate Earth as this would be cheaper. Fans were not happy with this, which is strange as canonically, He-Man is half earthling in the version most people love.
Frank Langella loved the role and did it for his kids. He got super jacked and was upset when he couldn’t show off his physique. Dolph could barely speak English so they cut a lot of his lines down and almost dubbed him at one point. Production ran out of money before the movie was finished and the final fight scene was filmed by cast and crew for free.
A sequel was planned and scrapped but the costumes were eventually used on van dammes cyborg movie.
Evil-Lyns real name was actually Evalyn so you were right
Teela is the captain of the Eternian guard, and adoptive daughter of Duncan.
Duncan is known as “Man-at-Arms” which is a historical title, the role of a Man-at-Arms was to advise the ruling planetary monarch in weapons and warfare, and the Royal Guard on military and police affairs.
As you can probably tell I am a huge fan of the series! I even had a sword commissioned from a smith that is almost identical to the one used in the film.
[5:00 & 34:04 & 42:15] Reason the troopers look like black stormtroopers due to Mattel's early demands on director Gary Goddard that HE-MAN could not kill or really hurt anyone. So he went with these troops being more "robotic" so he could smash/fight/blast them not making it look like he's killing humans.
[5:40] Definitely a skull mask prostetic over Frank Langella's face. And a damn good one despite what the hipsters say.
[9:30] "I don't like adventures" was kinda a nod line to JRR Tolkien's Hobbit series.
[13:16] No that's Billy Barty. Though Barty would appear with Warwick Davis a year later in WILLOW.
[33:33] Unf in the 80s when this film released, only 3 toys from the film were made: Blade, Sarod (I think) and Gwildor.
[40:57 & 43:02] The gold suit was certainly a challenge for Anthony De Longis (Blade) who doubled as God Skeletor in the sword fight scene twirling that staff/mace around with the helmet.
[48:14] Battle Cat. A green tiger. That would've been great to see for the finale of this film.
[48:32] Director Gary Goddard apparently thought Dolph's accent was still thick/horrible even coming off of Rocky 4. At first he was going to hire a voice over artist to dub over him. Then Menagham at Cannon Film said no and that Dolph had in his contract he would have 5 chances to record his own lines and after a few tries he barely got it. I think he did fine and looked the part and a half to make up for not speaking much).
[49:43] "By the power of grey skull . . . I have the power!!" was the line from the cartoon when "Prince Adam" turns into He-Man. Gary Goddard did not want to have the concept of Prince Adam in this film. Just wanted He-Man as He-Man already.
[51:00] What's funny is Cannon Film's had a half/half pay agreement with Mattel to make the film. Mattel put up their half, burned through it, then when they asked Cannon for their have they coldly said "NO!!" being the wheeler/dealers they were. They even shut the film down before the He-Man/Skeletor fight could be filmed and Gary had to pay out of his own pocket to finish the swordfight on a backlit set there.
[51:05] There "kinda" was a sequel. It just didn't end up as Masters of the Universe 2. It was set to begin but Cannon went bankrupt and the director who was given the project later retooled the film into "CYBORG" with Jean Claude Van Damn.
Yes. Saurod. He had sparks coming out of his mouth I think it you pulled a lever on the action figure.
Evil-Lyn was always my fave. What a nasty lass she is.
“Only one of you Kevin. Only one of anybody!” I always thought that was kinda sweet.
The Mrs. has very high standards for getting carried around 😂
"If Skelletor dies, he dies".
- He- Man.
25+ years ago ... damn ! time flies
Sure does Megatron!
25 years ago? You need to go back _12 more years_ than that, because this movie comes from _37_ years ago. I'm not sure if it's weird that I remember going to see it and then out for a picnic afterwards, or if it's _scary._
Guidor or Grilldor or whatever, was played by actor Billy Barty who was also the camera man in Weird Al Yankovic’s movie UHF which I think you guys watched? He plays a funny role in a raunchy, early 80’s comedy Night Patrol which yall should watch but Im not sure UA-cam will let you show it. His Career spanned 70 years from 1930 to the year 2000. He’s in a lot of classics actually.
This film is a pure Saturday Afternoon classic and I'll hear nothing else. The casting is absolutely perfect. Great to see ya watching this! ❤
Frank Langella really chewed up the scenery as Skeletor in this.
He ate it in its entirety and was left hungry for more lmao
The character of Gwildor was a replacement for Orkol in the cartoon, I think. Orkol was a short, floating wizard, and that would have been too expensive to create. :D
There was an origin given to Skeletor in the 2002 anmated series reboot; He was Keldor, half-brother of King Randor, and was horribly injured in battle with him when trying to take his throne. His face was burning off and in desperation, he made a pact with an ancient evil named Hordak to save his life. He survived, but was transformed into Skeletor and bound to the will of Hordak.
in the recent Netflix shows they made Keldor canon to the original show, and Duncan and Orko went to see Gwildor for his help with Duncan referencing the movie, technically making it canon
The FRIENDS theme song made me laugh. I really like Masters of the Universe, I've owned a copy of it on both VHS and DVD, and I went to the movie when it was in theaters when I was very young.
I think that the actress who plays teela was also a flight attendant in the movie commando.
yes she was.
He also played in the very first (The Punisher) movie which was in the 80s, I believe.
one of my top 10 favorite movies ever. you're going to love this.
“Thank you, my darlingarling…”. Genuine chills watching in the theater when I was nine years old.
“ one can only hope”
Don’t worry, good, sir I have burn cream on the way
Recognize Kevin? Same actor played Tom Paris in Star Trek Voyager.
I remember my dad bringing this home on VHS in 1988…We thought it was awesome! We were also 7 sooooo… 😂
My father had a friend record it on VHS for us off HBO or something haha.
I know this was on a cut budget and a rushed schedule (Cannon were infamous for doing everything on the cheap), but this is still an enjoyable movie!
Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella did tremendously well in their roles!
I just find it shocking Cannon apparently had whats been documented as a half/half deal with Mattel to fund the film. Then when Mattel lived up to their end and burned through the 1st half, Cannon said no. But its also been said that Cannon syphoned a lot of their funds from SuperMan 4 for MOTU (which explains why SuperMan 4's effects look horrible). So its debatable what Cannon actually did for the film. Though they did shut the picture down when Gary Goddard was about to film the final swordfight scene with He-Man and Skeletor. He then had to apparantly use his earnings/pay out of his own pocket to shoot an "as good as he could" brief swordfight at Voss studio in backlit fashion. Much as it would've been great to see a longer swordfight with them on William Stouts amazing set work in the throne room of GraySkull, Gary still made it look good and intense enough for what he could.
Favorite character from the movie, teela from the carton there was a guy who had on giant metal fist called fistor.
Gwildor is played by Billy Barty. He, also, played the High Nelwin in Willow.
Omg thank you so much for doing this movie!! No matter how many times I've seen this, it never gets old. Great action and thanks for the laughs 😁
Gwildor is Billy Barty, who was actually in Willow alongside Warwick Davis, as the High Aldwin of the village (you know that old wizard guy with the magic bones of destiny)
One of my favorite early theater memories, I came home and drew all of the characters! Even at 7 I wondered why they went to Earth and that Gwildor was just a substitute for Orko, but I still liked it.
I remember coming home from the show flabbergasted with my cousin who saw it with me and we immediately got toy swords out and started dueling taking turns playing He-Man, Blade and Skeletor hahaha. I can understand why alot of kid fans probably got mad at Orko's, BattleCats, RamHeads, and others absence. Me, I just cared about He-Man, Skeletor, and despite what lack of experience Dolph may have had, he still looked the part and a half of He-Man so that was good enough for me.
"not without our parachutes"
I laughed and laughed.
Good reaction guys, no surprise.
I can't remember if I saw this movie in the cinema when it was new, but I definitely saw it on VHS soon after. I never cared for the tv series, but this movie was right down my alley. Alien invaders on Earth, etc. Plus beautiful women, and chicken! What more do you want in life? Video games, but still not bad.
I cant believe I havent seen any other reactions to this movie. Its one of my guilty pleasures.
Skeletor is the brother of King Randor
The score was from Bill Conti, the guy who did Rocky and The Karate Kid. It's definitely one of the very best of the classic 80s fantasy scores.
Much as I love John Williams, gotta say . . . . Conti, at times, kinda improved on Williams style here. It's like they meshed the Star Wars and SuperMan themes together. There were even a few times the score sounded a bit like Conan The Barbarian a bit too.
“She had ONE job.” 😂. No one was counting on the appearance of intergalactic monster warriors. 😅
The producers couldn’t make an armored talking green tiger, or a floating Trollan wizard, or set the film entirely on planet Eternia, or include more of the cartoon’s well-known characters, or He-Man’s alter-ego, Prince Adam… but it’s still a pretty good film, all things considered.
lol... I liked it as a kid and have a few of the toys still (the dual wielding one eyed bald sword guy, and the reptile guy) in my he man toy collection.
oh yea I got Gwildor too.
What you expect after they cut this movie budget and give it to superman 4........ Look at third act, that's where they ran out of budget
*Skeletor Origin Expert* You see, a long time ago on Eternia, King Miro ruled on high with two sons. Randor and Keldor. Randor was Miro’s youngest son, and Keldor was the oldest and the crown prince of Eternia. However, Keldor was the result of an affair with a alien species known as the Gar, which was a race banished from all Eternia trade for crimes against the crown. Even though Keldor was the oldest son, and it was his birthright to have the crown, Miro proclaimed his son unworthy due to his Gar blood, and named Randor Crown Prince. Keldor was sent back home to Anwat Gar. But he grew bitter and angry, dreaming of power! That’s when he met Hordak, the conqueror. He saw an opportunity in Keldor, and trained him, and taught him to hate his family. He then gave Keldor the Havoc staff, an ancient and dark magic, that corroded his face, and turned him into the Lord of Destruction, Skeletor!
As an OG Masters of the Universe fan, I have to say that this movie sucked sooo bad when I first saw it but now I can enjoy the abomination for what it was.
I do agree that Frank Langella played a killer Skeletor! He said he really enjoyed playing him & put his all into the character. But where’s the characters I grew up & played with?
The original comics that came with the figures were the best version in my opinion. That story started differently from the cartoon. Still the. 80’s were a great time to be a kid in America. 🇺🇸
Staple of my 80’s childhood
Kevin throws a napkin at (The) Beast Man.😂
The 80's were a golden age
I remember seeing this at the movies when I was 10. Good times.
Frank Langella steals this movie!! I love this movie
I remember seeing this movie as a kid when it came out, and have enjoyed it ever since.
19:24 It was actually ammonia that she threw in his face.
The effects have held up pretty well actually!
Considering they were done by Richard Endlund who did the effects for Star Wars 77' and in a 70mm format here . . . one would think so.
always loved this movie. Fun, cheesy, inspirational. Perfect.
People like to shit on this movie and say it's cheesy or corny or crappy but I love this movie. I grew up with it and other Dolph movies (like The Punisher) and they are some of my favorite comfort movies of all time.
Campy, Corny, & Cheesy (even used as compliments) never sit right with me in this film or films like it. For some, this film left an impression or had great memories from it. Calling something like that "cheesy" cuz its 80s or cuz its so-bad-its-good just makes it come off as a laughable guilty pleasure or counter-intuitive.
Back in the day, this and The Punisher were Dolphs legacies.
You all are the first people I have ever seen react to this movie. I love this movie nostalgically. Guilty pleasure. They tried, but didn’t have the budget necessary. Frank Langella is genuinely wonderful. He loved playing the role, and will still occasionally speak fondly about it.
agreed 100%. my father almost pulled me out of the theater there cuz I thought Skeletor looked way more terrifying than Freddy Kruger. Luckily when Dolph's scene as He-Man followed Skeletor's grand entrance, I was cool after that.
@@rockstarbd82 good!! That’s great. Yes, Frank is much scarier than Alan Oppenheimer/Filmation’s Skeletor. I think I was JUST old enough to look at Frank’s version on the movie screen and say yes that’s how Skeletor should/would look and act. It was the first time I ever genuinely realized Skeletor is supposed to be a scary character.
@@nickperkins8477 Though lets be real . . . we would've laughed our @$$es off if Langella Skeletor screamed Oppenhiemer's line from the cartoon . . . "ARRRRHHHHH WHY DO I SURROUND MYSELF WITH BOOOOOOOBS!!!!" hahahahaha
@@rockstarbd82 I actually did miss Alan; he had my heart after watching the Filmation franchise. The way I look at it now, I love Alan and Frank in the role. Very different. Very good.
Re: If you can travel through space you can travel through time - In sci-fi settings that can be how it works, eg if the key opens a worm hole then there's no reason why it couldn't work that way.
Frank Langella was so good in this movie.
One of my favorite movies from childhood.
This movie is a guilty pleasure :) Did you know Cannon took the budget from Superman 4 for this movie thinking it will be a hit. That is why Superman 4 has such low special effects. Y
You should also see The Punisher 1989 with Dolph another great underacted movie and Blind Fury with Meg Foster and Rutger Hauer.
This was about the biggest budget flick Cannon ever made and to be honest they had no business doing it considering it was the beginning of the end for them. If they had just stuck to low budget B movie action flicks with Bronson, Chuck Norris, and Michael Dudikoff they may have survived into the 90s.
I remember 2004 Punisher so much I forgot there was another one.
@@jayeisenhardt1337 I remember the movie poster of the old one, but never connected it to the Marvel character. That's what happens when you leave the iconic part of a character out, in this case his skull. I was also didn't know anything about copyright laws, so I just assumed this was something else.
Blind Fury is often overlooked. I love that movie, even if the kid in it is incredibly irritating!
@@The-Underbaker There have been worse kids in movies and the movie as w whole is great.
Skeletor's backstory German radio play version: A race of giants have poisoned their home planet and flown to Eternia. (The part of Eternia later became known as the Desert of Time)
The race is trying to separate itself from the evil within itself. They transferred this evil into a skeleton. Then they threw this skeleton into the time stream. It ends in a future in which the giants have left Eternia again. There it became known as a skeletor. (similar to Skin Of Evil TNG 1×23)
Skeletor's original name was Keldor... the brother of King Randor, and Prince Adam/He-Man's uncle. He turned to evil magic and joined the intergalactic empire of The Horde, becoming the chief disciple of Hordak.

@@AaronLitz Yes, in some stories. not in the German canon
I'm sorry they never made a sequel, this was an amazing take on he-man
If you want to see what was "kind of" planned for Masters of the Universe 2, Cannon in their death throws (and having lost the rights to MOTU for waiting too long) had the original director retool the story (with some remaining elements) into the Jean Claude Van Dam film CYBORG 89'.
this movie deserves more credit and music was from other planet (Eternia)
Love this cult classic. Used to watch it alot as a kid 30 years ago.
Everything about this film is wrong... objectively, I know this to be true... but I still love it.
When ever you see the cannon logo open the film you know your in for something
23:04: Slackers !!
Late here. Aside their are some performances that are legendary in retrospect they did a lot of prolific things with this film that while at the time probably escaped notice are notable to this day in and outside of the franchise.
Can't believe you didn't recognize Evil Lynn as the TV executive from They Live , the best casting ever . Evil because of the color of those eyes , she didn't have to wear special contacts . The voice of the little inventor sounded like Billy Barty , the wizard in Willow . I don't know if have seen it , but if not you should .
Favorite He-Man character? Probably Rattlor of the Snake-Men because of the cool toy. Of this movie? Detective Lubic, of course!
Langella was great as Skeletor, and actually talked positively about the experience years afterwards.
I was a huge he-man fan 35, 38 years ago. And this movie came out and we went to see it. And it was sold out, and my father never took me to another theater to see it, or back another day. I wrote the most cringey 2nd grade essay on how bad that day sucked
At least it's not bad as dragon ball evolution......
Today I learned that Mrs. Movies is a loyal guy.
I feel this film brought them closer together as a couple. Is there nothing this movie can't do?
3:55 I truly appreciated that song rendition. Seriously. That was awesome. Ive always felt the same. Thank you.
This was released in August 87. Adventures in Babysitting was released June 87. So it still has the first end credits scene that i know of.
Skeletor played an epic game of, "I'm not touching you," with the Sorceress.
Classic ! So much nostalgia for this one 🤘
This is unusual pick as this classic is often overlooked. I always remembered it cause of Dolph and the actress playing Evil Lynn. She has one of the bluest eyes that I have ever seen. And I totally forgot Courteney Cox was in this movie.
And they're totally natural, check her out in 'They Live'
Good ole Meg Foster. Those eyes are hypnotic.
Love your show's guys especially
The little guest appearances 👍😄
He-Man is picking up whomever he wants. He's the strongest man in the universe. 🤷
Courtney Cox is so incredibly cute in this movie. ❤

Jack Palance would have made a perfect Skeletor for this movie
Well Mr Movies, you've got a few months time to get yourself into shape like Dolph Lundgren was in the 80's for Halloween. 😜
I didn't even know this movie existed back in the day (no internet etc.) until my mum came home from shopping one day and had bought it on VHS for me. It was sooooo disappointing but I acted like I loved it as we weren't a family with much money and she'd purchased it as a treat for me.
Frank Langella was awesome in this movie
He said yes to the role because his son went nuts, after his dad said "they want me to play a guy named SKELETOR?!"
42:42 Masters of the Universe is a great movie. Frank Langella made Masters of the Universe with his brilliant performance as Skeletor.
@You, Me & The Movies - Fun fact about Dolph Lundgren. He’s one of the only few Actors and Actresses whose ACTUALLY INTELLIGENT. The reason why I say this about him is because he actually has a Degree in Chemical Engineering. Another actual intelligent Actor is Rowan Atkinson aka Mr. Bean. He has a Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
