It’s not just the FBI - every law enforcement, intelligence, and defense agencies does this. When there is an active case load and ongoing investigations happening, they don’t talk about it to avoid influencing the outcome or divulging confidential informants/collection methods. As the cases are brought to trial, much of it will have to be divulged to the defense or the judge will throw out the case. Ted knows this. It’s not just the FBI - every law enforcement, intelligence, and defense agencies does this. When there is an active case load and ongoing investigations happening, they don’t talk about it to avoid influencing the outcome or divulging confidential informants/collection methods. As the cases are brought to trial, much of it will have to be divulged to the defense or the judge will throw out the case. Ted knows this. He just wanted to perform for the voters instead of standing up for government institutions that GENERALLY serve the common good, including his own constituents
