Happy new years man 🎉 I’m personally still excited for TW4 and will be playing it Day one regardless of what happens. If I end it up getting burned then so be it, I will judge this game for myself when it’s out. I played TW1,TW2 and TW3 and the series means so much to me and can’t wait to play as Ciri. Also I’m going to start saving up now to upgrade my PC in 2-3 years so it can handle TW4 😂
Happy New Years my friend. I am kinda waiting on it, too, but seeing how they are talking about an undisclosed video card and all that, to run the game I'm afraid at what the specs might be. I already am with a potato PC so... 😅😅😅
@ yeah I’m sure they used the upcoming Nvidia RTX 5090 for that trailer. I’d imagine that the game will require at a minimum a 2060 to run since that’s when Ray Tracing tech was first implemented and modern games seem to really be pushing that
I am with you on the love of the old games. But hardly anyone working on W4 did not work on the previous trilogy. This is a mostly new devs, on a new engine that have never worked on this IP. I hope it works out, yet can give no credit to this new game from the past games. Rebel Wolves is the new studio with many of the W3 devs. Not long formed, cant wait to see what their first announcement will be.
I'm worried the frachise will loose it's edge, cards are confirmed to be already scrapped from W1 remake, but even more characteristic humor might get the cut... I'm replaying W2 currently and the first courtesan we meet in Flotsam, laughs at a city guard, yelling for everyone to hear that during the visit in the brothel he couldn't get his willy up. After guard gets mad some other townsman standing nearby says that she's a fine woman and to leave her alone! Of course everyone knows her by name too :) She didn't seem too oppressed... to me at least. Her cleavage sure wasn't! Girl was the funniest participant of the conversation and very vocal at that xD I hope CDPR can still get their might and magic going unlike that unlucky guardsman called out in the middle of town square. Likley that will happen tho...
We'll see how they handle all of it. There is a real danger of them messing up everything, in the pursuit of trying to make the game more mild, so nobody gets 'offended', but in the interview they do mention, that they make games for adults and that's their goal - to continue on what has been working so far. So if they make true on those words, and can produce the level of grit and entertainment from the first three games, they'll succeed in continuing the legacy in a good way. And if Witcher 4 delivers on what it needs to deliver, it will give a very good sign to players, that the narrative virus is finally going away.
It's pretty easy, CCPR clearly panders to people who hate gamers, men and pretty much everyone else who isn't them. I'll happily respond in kind as that whole "the other cheek" thing isn't my style.
That does seem to largely be the case. I only hope they keep their heads and discard it, in order to at least have a good continuation of the legacy of The Witcher.

It makes the company position clear for all sides, and I'd respect a company for being transparent; this is in contrast to the rumor (stress: rumor) that BioWare plans to hide the wokeness for Mass Effect 5, just to introduce it AFTER many customers have purchased the game. With that being said, ideally, the company openly promotes their ideology, and the customer decides to pay for it or not. Everyone wins.

That would be the honest and honorable way to do it, yes, however the people pushing and promoting woke and DEI ideologies through companies are fully aware how badly it will be received, so they are never going to make one of their puppets shout it out loud. The rumor you are speaking of is just one more way they can do it, and the fact that Bioware hasn't addressed it speaks loudly. They prefer to work in the shadows and if they can bamboozle enough people, that would be the win. The moneywell has almost dried out seeing the layoffs that are happening, and a lot of studios are on the brink.
Ciri is the only continuation of the saga, Always was the main character of the arch. The only thing that matters is that, this is a majority new developers at CDPR, using a new game engine (as of new devs) at CDPR, therefore new to the IP of the Witcher. This project deserves none of the credit from the past games. It is to me, a new game from a new team with a new engine and any recognition is name only. All to prove and I have no confidence.

Ciri looks fine, shes been a hardcore witcher fighting monsters for years, she has gotten about 5-10% more gruff, as would be natural.

Oh, Ciri looks very good IMO. I truly don't know the reasoning behind people's dislike for her, but everyone's got their tastes.
