@luoken413 Hi! Yes they are good all year round. The thing is, in summer, these mountains tend to be really humid and hot. By the way, watch out for mountain leeches as well. In winter, you’ll get a stable weather and great views of snowcapped Fuji. Autumn 🍂 is great as well. The foliage comes late in these mountains. Usually in December.
@@JohnHikerDolar, thanks! I'd love to see more of these types of videos. I love hiking and climbed Mt. Fuji in 2018. I would love to go back to Japan and explore more mountain trails!
Hi John, great video. Do I need special gear if I will fast hike from Okura -> Mt Tonodake -> Mt Tanzawa and back in mid Feb? Do normal trail running shoes without goretex sufficient?
I live in Kanagawa and have been saving these neighbors of mine for cooler weather (went straight to the alps for the summer lol). Do you recommend any trailhead/parking area access for parking a car without snow tires? It’s my first winter in Japan, so I’m not familiar with where roads might get sketchy in this area (if they even get sketchy at all this time of year). Thanks for any advice!
In Okura Bus stop, there’s a huge parking space but it’s not free. It doesn’t snow much in Tanzawa so I don’t think you’ll have trouble parking. Hakone area doesn’t get much snow as well so you’ll be fine without snow tire.
These mountain peaks are the perfect day hikes in Kanagawa Prefecture! So, which mountain peak are you going to hike first? 😊
Good job, thank you for the video
Thanks 🙏 a lot.
I live in Kanagawa, thanks for the information brother.. 🔥
You’re welcome brother! Have a nice hike.
This is amazing! Can you share what season (Month) you hiked these mountains in? Are these peaks good for year-round (4 seasons)?

Hi!! If there’s no snow! You won’t need extra equipment. My trail running shoes aren’t goretex either and they work just fine in dry winter. 🥶
I never run on snowy grounds, normal trail running shoes should be fine at the top of the mountain, correct?
@@pisit3 yes! 👍
Thank you John!! Have a good day!!
@@pisit3 sure no worries! If you have questions don’t hesitate to reach out! Wish you the best
