    I'm a fan. I found today the Chicken Of The Woods, and even though I don't have a freeze dryer, I'm looking for alternate preserving solutions.

    We just found some here in OKla. We made fajitas with it? Just mixed bells from the garden and onions. Mexican seasoning and bam! Fajitas!

    I have not tried chicken of the woods yet I get so nervous trying mushrooms even when I know they won’t cause harm, but I bet they are delicious if they taste like chicken! I love the relationship you have with your mom that is awesome you two do so much together!

      COTW is a very safe fungi to try as there's nothing else that looks like it, but I understand being nervous. I just cooked up a batch like chicken nuggets and my family loved them.

    Recipe alert! We dip in an egg wash, toss in fish crisp. fry in butter. Serve in a basket with fries and bbq sauce. My kids love the "chicken fingers". Tastes like a mozzarella stuffed chicken finger. soooo good.

    Definitely a lot of mushrooms. As meaty as they are...the butter and garlic would be first on my list, but you have enough to experiment with for sure. Pot Roast with the veggies and mushrooms added...steak and shrooms, salad...possibilities are on going..😂😂🤣🤣😁😁😎😎

    We just bought a freeze dryer. It hasn't come yet, but can't wait to get started. I have so many herbs right now that need to be harvested. Thank you for showing the basics.

    I have not tried chicken of the woods either. But I am sure they taste good. It's good that you found three growing together. Maybe nature is rewarding you both for your great work on how you treat your wildlife & surroundings.👍🙂

    Where I live we have King Bolete shrooms , have had them powdered and sprinkled on top of popcorn and used in soup stocks , In Austrailia they have a thing called "chicken salt" made by dehdrating chicken skins and powdered it with salt and other stuff.. im no expert, never seen it except on UA-cam, might make a cool new spice for smoking or baking

    I want a freeze dryer soooo bad! I keep nagging my husband. He says I need a sponsor to pay for all the food preservation I do. Fruits, veggies and meats and all the equipment I want. So I told him to ask his boss if he would be my sponsor.😂🤣 Love your videos! 💗🙏

    Another use for the hash freeze dryer, funny to see you get more uses out of this..
    Found these last year in MIchigan, huge clusters bigger than a hat.

    Just chicken mushrooms. Not chicken of the woods. Too many people confuse the name with hen of the woods.

    Recently found your channel...love it! I've thought about buying a freeze dryer for a couple years now.. did you get the no oil pump or just the premium? If so is changing the oil easy?

    • @TheHoneystead
      @TheHoneystead  2 роки тому +2

      I just have the premium pump and the oil change is not bad at all. Plus I can filter the oil and use it again.
