You know Gunnar, you have a wonderful attitude to these experiences and I don’t think I would have been as philosophical about it as you! I thought you did a great job of documenting the process of trying to photograph an elusive bird and your footage of the black grouse’s environment was beautiful. The fact that you found that one grouse was definitely a real achievement - thanks for taking us on this journey with you. Looking forward to your next movie 😀
Thank you, Stephen. These kind comments do a lot to my motivation. It is funny to see how down I am when starting this story off and at the end I am left nearly speechless. You just never know where these ones are going to go. I have some material that still needs some editing, so it will not take too long for the next one. Cheers, G
There is not too much needed to get me hooked, and then we are in for good! Looking forward to the next project now. Thanks for tuning in as always, Terry :)
Well done Gunnar! Loving your work! I totally agree on the whole it's more satisfying to build your own setup/ or game character for that matter. Happy hunting!
I totally understand that sometimes it is just not possible, if animals or time wise. Not everyone has as much time as this dude here to spend it in the forest :P It is just so satisfying when you go the whole stretch, good to hear that you feel the same way, Darren! Thanks for tuning in, G
Experience wise insane, all those evenings and mornings in the marsh are way more beautiful than expected. Looking at the footage I would say I am really jealous of yours! I will have another chance next year, maybe that time I get them also in sunlight, that would be helpful :D
How dare you, Tony, for showing up late on a Wednesday :P If you think my videos are good, check out the ones of Filip Blaauw , that is some serious Black Grouse video material. Maybe next year for me. Thanks for tuning in, Tony :)
Really nice videos. I do enjoy the format and how you leed us through the your trip. Definatly not a failure. Keep on with your awesome work. Well done!
Glad that it did not disappoint. Im very much looking forward to next year now that I know a bit better about the black grouse. I used the same music as with the capercaillie last year, I thought it fits for these quite a bit similar birds. Cheers :)
@@GunnarDresler Thats for sure about the music part. Even though you didnt get the picture you wanted, you still took us on a trip that wasnt all about succes, but about the beauty of an adventure! thank you Gunnar! keep on thriving!
Hello Gunnar. I found youre channel by "accident". I have allredy watched about half off youre content and im really imprest. Whery whery nice flow. Youre production skills impres me. Ceep upp the good work and succés will come youre way 👌
Hei Conny. Thank you for the very kind comment. I hope you did not see anything from early 2019, it is rather embarrassing considering the production :D I think we going a good way on the channel though. Maybe one day I get two designated cameras, then we are really up for no good! I keep it up, cheers
I am not sure if I see what you see, at that time I just see a reflection in that corner. I have to look at the original :D Thanks for writing the time.
Keep it up mate, I haven’t seen a video from you for awhile so glad this one popped up. It’s Definitely not a failure you’ve learnt something and got some nice shots along the way. 👍
Maybe you should consider notifications then, Ian (I do not use them :P). Really glad that the algorithm got you in once more and you enjoyed it, I am going a bit under the radar lately I think. I am very happy about my meeting with the black grouse, cannot wait for next year! Cheers, G
No you are not fail,, you are trying,,,, we have always the lot of way.... For success.... 'In the early morning just spend your time with walking for 20-30 minutes..... ' It's a Most effective way.. To get the right direction... Truly... And honestly....
Hey Richard. That sounds interesting. Do you mean in the lek area or in the area in itself? If you have any more detail I would love to here since I don’t know much ;) thanks for the comment!
Thanks for all the information Richard! Really interesting. Can I still cut it at this time of the year? Won't the heather go into some kind of winter sleep stuff and not really grow anymore? Or do you mean I should just start to cut it a bit when spring is arriving?

Nice job on the Black Grouse, Gunnar. Your perseverance paid off. Not easy for sure, to find certain wildlife.👍👍

Great atmosphere Gunnar. I loved the combination of music and shots you made! You did a great job :)

I guess that is good advice.... unless there is a Black Grouse playing infront of your tent that morning :D Thank you, Ketankumar!
You need to cut or fire the heather in the spring they like new heather shoots to eat.
Hey Richard. That sounds interesting. Do you mean in the lek area or in the area in itself? If you have any more detail I would love to here since I don’t know much ;) thanks for the comment!
Hi .on a Grouse moor they burn the heather for new shoots. So if there’s heather we’re you seen your grouse this well help keep them there.
And you could start feeding in one place were the best for you to film them now the winter is coming.
Thanks for all the information Richard! Really interesting. Can I still cut it at this time of the year? Won't the heather go into some kind of winter sleep stuff and not really grow anymore? Or do you mean I should just start to cut it a bit when spring is arriving?
Hi cut it in the spring and the new shoots will be very for young Grouse . But you start feeling will need to keep them coming over the winter.
