I was thinking the same thing! I would love it as wrapping paper but I know it would be really hard to ship in a roll. Maybe as folded sheets?

Just remember that large stores do their Christmas stuff a year in advance as well! I wouldn't worry about doing things last minute honestly.
I'm in a minority then 'cause I still love speed-paints and I hate the short video revolution. I'm sad that all the old creators never or seldom do them. I really love them and I learn from them, just this lovely section in this video got me so inspired and I learn by watching others.
I totally get that you changed the channel to better fit your vision and for you to feel better but I can't deny that I get super happy and excited whenever you include speed-paints. ❤️

Honestly filming while doing something productive is SO hard. Especially when you just feel inspired and want to do something NOW. I watch your vlogs because I just like hearing you chat about life and knowing I'm not alone with business struggles haha, so not seeing you actually doing the process of creating art wouldn't bother me at all (please still show us finished pieces though if you're going to continue doing vlogs). ❤️
Also was super nice to hear you talk about your art and sound passionate about getting back to what feels like you. The buns are SO you and I totally understand what you mean after seeing them finished with their detailed fur and dresses. Just absolutely adorable and I can't wait to see all the goodies you make with them!
The fur texture in your art always impresses me. All the buns are adorable.
Baylee in the future it might be a good idea to pick up some empty copic markers if you have the refill bottles and are struggling to get a specific color you know you'll use a lot of - like with the bun fur color. You can always mix and make your own marker colors!
As someone from a warmer area I was astonished to see snow on the ground this vlog! The bun designs could make great themed holiday cards too! Or like someone else said wrapping paper. I don't really watch any of your game content so it's nice to hear you're hoping to make more art.

I've learned I'm most productive when I do what I want in the moment and don't think about it. To me, it's better to go with the flow creatively because then if you don't feel like doing that certain activity in a few weeks time, that's fine, you did it when you wanted to. It just feels way more rewarding as well because my brain is hyped to be working on it.
Agreed. That's why I don't want to schedule specific times to do art.

Wrapping paper in general might be a good idea for your store.
You can go for holiday paper, but you don't have to.
People have birthdays in all seasons and different paper for different seasons would also get your creative juices going.
My birthday is in summer and I would probably jump in joy if my present was wrapped in a Baylee Jae Wrapping Paper. With ice cream, pool floaties, maybe even a mermaid bun comeback?
Every season has so much to give! If not paper, maybe a seasonal washi tape? Or sticker sheets? Acrylic charms?
I know your store hinges more on holidays, but giving the seasons themselves more focus might give you a more flexible store update schedule.
I feel the same way about not creating art that suites your own tastes. I'm trying to phase out my old cutesy style because I made that type of art for attention and supposed easy money but I didn't create that art for me and therefore feel less attached to it compared to my trueself art.
Make art that matches your brand and now that you're all settled in, you can let the creativity and inspiration run loose!
I can’t imagine having mild winters. I live in Buffalo NY where we can get some pretty crazy snow storms and since we’re off the lake we get the “lake effect” snow which can dump as little as 18+ inches in less than an hour. Fun times, fun times. Yes I’ve been stranded at least 3 different times over the years 😂.

Don’t feel rushed for Christmas. You get done what you get done; you’re only 1 person. Big companies start planning for major holidays 4-6 months in advance.
Art is a part of your life and you don't broadcast your whole life. So you don't have to show us everything you make
The Christmas bun-buns are so cute. And the gingerbread cookie was so cute, especially when you were colouring in the buttons, it made me want to poke its belly like the Pillsbury Doughboy on TV.
The morning clips are so aesthetic and happyy
I'm personally not a short form content fan. I think it's creating an instant gratification generation. The constant need for more more more instead of enjoying the process. I guess I'm old school...or maybe just old in the social media sense, I like long form art videos. But that's just me personally, I hope you find something that works well for you.
Maaaaan, I related so hard to your ramble about making time for art, instead of only prioritizing things for your shop. I've been feeling the same way for the past few months. Like I'm in the same exact situation over here, even the recent move part. I finally made a schedule (because I also thrive when I have one) and decided that Thusdays were my fine art days. Also I give myself a half hour of wind down drawing time at the end of every work day. It's been a game changer.
And I freaking loooove the way the winter bun buns turned out! Weirdly enough, the pinecone and pine branch are my favorite parts. 😂

It was refreshing listening to you ramble on trying to make time for things you enjoy. I thrive on structure and routines but I struggle so hard to maintain the order. There is some other baggage that I’m going through that amplifies this problem but listening to you vent makes me want to figure out my own garbage more and gives me ideas on how to.

While I love your art work, I can absolutely tell what you mean. I fell in love with your style and how it almost has a vintage feel to it. Your digital art is gorgeous, but I love your hand drawn pieces way more. As you said, there is a lot more soul in them for you, and it really shines through in these buns. You can feel the love and fun that you had making them through the screen. They don't have to be limited to Christmas Buns, either! The bunnies remind me in general of more just the winter holidays, so that's something to keep in mind as well! Not everything has to be for the holidays. It can just be a seasonal thing too.
Light up bun ornaments sound super adorable! Depending on price point and how my budget works out I'll have to try and snag a set! And depending on if I remember to hop on the shop update right away 😅

I just don't get why people don't watch speed paints anymore... I really do enjoy them, especially when I'm doing art, too, because I can have them on in the background, listen to the voiceover and it's really nice. Love the buns, they look gorgeous!
Same here! I love speed paints and learning from someone else and their process. Oh well. There are still some artists who still do it. I loved watching Baylee create these buns.

And for what it's worth, I personally love when you use older art for shop stuff. It's always nice to see stuff from the past that you still really like. Although I do understand that it feels like a cop out of sorts. But! I'm glad you got back an itch for art and created something you really like!

Have you tried creating/painting digital art in a more traditional way? That is what I do. I don’t use flat color but paint everything in, shade and highlight and so forth from there. I can’t use most traditional art products due to allergies, so this is my main option anyway. For some projects it could give you the look you want without the additional time of scanning and cleaning up. And you could screen record some to have some footage if you like.
Love the buns and the painting timelapse, by the way. There’s something magical about watching a piece from start to finish.
Painting when you’re in the mood just means you are WAY ahead for next year’s product designs.

Dude I totally get the shop art vs personal art thing! I’ve been struggling big with that recently because the one product in my shop that sells semi-well is one that I designed solely for the shop and not just because I wanted to draw it. It’s hard to know how to go about making my own art anymore because ive been posting online for years and I have a shop. I’ve loved doing pen sketches lately but I feel such guilt because my pen sketches aren’t shop worthy. So I go and make digitally art but I feel so disconnected from it. It’s a strange spot to be in
