I was wondering where all of the Tier 1 experienced players goes, turn out they werre all here today lol Glad to see even Bruce is coming back to play on this massive match
Eldar used way too much red on buffs. Not a single eldritch. I get the idea of getting ahead early, which they totally did, but once ig hits t3, every single point of red should be put toward nuking tanks. IG are so dependant on armor and eldritch is such a hard counter that I don't think any other use of red comes close to matching value.
I have no skill whatsoever but going into this faction war I thought I already knew the outcome. Once the guard got up their tanks and Baneblades the Eldar would just spam their Eldritch storms. Boom, game over. I was shocked to see that not only did the Guard win but not ONE Eldritch storm used.... lmao.
@@RandyJamminMusic Imho, it was why ig won. Their panzers were the only thing that got them ahead again. The eldritchs were both the I win button, but also the only way I win button. Pretty amazing dodging of eldar flanks and assaults though. I would like to hear what tipped them off, they started leaving bad fights before the eldar even got into position. It's like the astropaths out forsaw the farseers.
These are some very high level players though, there's a good chance that you won't even able to hit them with Eldritch without any set up. They can just micro their unit away
even under time field the tanks can dodge the core of the eldritch - which has also been nerfed a few times so I feel it's only worth the red with a perfect hit. Which requires warp spiders, which in turn are too fragile fro 3v3...
@@CtrlAltRetreat High level players know retreat time needed to go back to base and time it takes to get back to their side on the field so can move back just at the right time. The only way to catch them at flank is by the clever usage of the gate. Not talking about you retreat and there is a gate back at home base and then, you move to the other gate from there. Need to be done on a very less obvious timing and from an unusual angle. What Eldar players needed to do as a mobility based faction is using an invisible threat. The fact that IG have to move away fearing flanks is an advantage in itself. Threaten them to move away and take strategically advantageous position and sometimes do real flanks to show them it is not an empty threat. Generally don't show where forces are and use fog of war to hide your moves and only strike when needed. This is real hard to do in practice of course.
I feel like the Stormlord is under utilized in most IG games. This just shows how powerful the thing is, and while it isn't the best option in all circumstances, I feel like it tends to do better than the Stormblade.
Stormblade feels like it needs a legion in front of it to be useful since it is so easily overwhelmed with the turret not being able to rotate and not being able to fire whilst moving. Stormlord feels like it's always good. Got a gun for all targets even if it's slightly worse vs vehicles and set up teams than traditional baneblade the reinforce seems almost always worth it. 2 stormlords+stormblade and then vanquisher lemans for AV? Not sure how you ever push that off. Maybe with 3 eldritch storms =D
They should give Catas a "sidegrade" like they did with the kommondos and give them a melee form. Where the Sarge could have a melts pistol or a Powerfist so they still maintain a bit of AV. GIVE MY BOYS THEIR KNIFES!
I wonder if there was a change to the AI when you play against the computer? I've been seeing some new playstyles, specifically from Eldar, recently. [SPOILERS] I'm sure the Eldar have a counter for Armor above and beyond the Avatar. Perhaps Seer Council? But those Stormlords were BEASTS.
Nah, eldritch storm is the eldarnhard counter to vehicles. They have the strongest hard counter to vehicles in the game and a well placed storm and two salvos from the double wraithguard would have killed a stormlord with 100% accuracy on flat ground due to how scatter calculates. The problem was that the eldar players kept burning their red on trying to push their advantage while they had it and didn't start banking for storms early enough as IG was starting to hit t3. A stormlord cannot exit the aoe for an eldritch in time even if the player reactly literally immediately from the indicator pop. I believe they couldn't even with a three second head start from standstill. On the other hand, the IG players were remarkably prescient, falling back from major pushes even when the armies were fully stealthed as soon as something smelled wrong. I know I would have been caught off guard by most of the cloak pushes or group teleport flanks. Crazy intuition from these players. This is the sort of gameplay I like to see.
Sorry I'm just trying to get into DOW 2 multiplayer and it seems every game I've played and every game I watch the imperial guard sentinal is just busted, high damage, high movespeed, super durable? Is that just a new player opinion or is it actually just a strong unit? Seems every game I watch it kinda crushes is there an answer for it?
Advice for new players 1/ Play on Friday, weekends and during European night time. 2/ Make sure to get the newest patch from forum's releases section. The link is in the video description. 3/ Find players to play with at the Discord channel. The link is at the video description. 4/ After joining Discord, give yourself an initiate tag or completely new tag depending on your preference by going to roles channel. 5/ And most importantly, add every non-toxic player you met on Elite Mod as a steam friend. If a new person rely solely on finding a room in public room list, there is a high chance that one will suffer from taking long to find a room and skill mismatches. An optimal way to find rooms for Elite while avoiding two forementioned problems would be like below. 1/ Host a new player room and go (Dis) to (cord) looking-for-games channel to gather new players for it. 2/ Play some games 3/ Send (Ste) friend (am) invite to any and all player who were in your room and were not toxic/blaming. - Doesn't matter if they receive it or not. Keep sending. There is a nice ignore invite button to stop all invites from a player and also invite notification only happens once. These two means invite spam is not a nuisance to anyone. 4/ Repeat Step 1 to Step 3 until you gather about 15 to 20 players in your friend list. 5/ Now, you have power to host a room and fill it up in a minute or two by using both (Ste) invite (am) and informing (Dis) on (cord) any time of the day you want and with players of skills similar to you.
You are only required to buy DoW2 Retribution for multiplayer. Other games/DLCs are not needed. In addition, Elite Mod is required but it is a free mod. All replays casted in this channel are from DoW2 Retribution + Elite Mod. Retribution is the second and the last expansion of DOW2. Retribution is a standalone expansion that does not require other games for it to work. Players created Elite Mod as patch support for Retribution stopped in 2012. For this reason, Elite Mod is also needed for playing multiplayer as unmodded Retribution is largely abandoned aside from single play purposes. Same can be said about Original DOW2 and Chaos Rising the first expansion. They are bought to enjoy single player content only. Elite Mod’s main function is the balance patch support for high level 1v1 scene. However, in addition, it adds some new content too. Bug fixes New faction - Ordo Malleus(Grey Knights) New units, wargears, skills and globals for each faction New unit portraits New army skins New maps A ladder system with ratings And most importantly, community support such as replays casted on UA-cam, Regular tournaments and other events with streamers on Twitch, a regulated Discord server and a forum website
The sentinel being objectively strong is there because the IG roster otherwise has things it lacks - melee options, jump units and then guardsmen themselves are amongst the weakest units in the game. Without the sentinel guardsmen would be really really trashy. And objectively sentinel isn't high damage, no, 1/3 less damage than a single tactical marine squad.
Eldar has the weakest tier 3 of all races at current state. Hope devs give Eldar a new decent super heavy unit like Cobra tank or buff the existing T3 units at least on the next patch.
Can't on the next patch but the long term plan is Nidz, SM, Chaos, Eldar all need to receive their T3 new units. Orks and IG were first to receive theirs. Leave your suggestions at (D)(iscord). The (l) (ink) is in the video description.
