On December 21st, the Cubs held a press conference to introduce shortstop Dansby Swanson. The organization signed Swanson to a 7 year, $177 million contract.
I'm a Braves fan. I'm a little upset he didnt stay in Atlanta. He was my favorite player watching them the past few years. I'm happy for him and his wife. Goodluck brother. Love ya and Cubs fans take care of my dude for me. Show him love and respect because he's gonna play his heart out for you guys!

I can not wait till our Cubs win another World Series. How emotional it will be when they interview Swanson and gets to say he won the World Series for both of his grandpa's favorite teams. I'm a 40 plus year Braves fan. I just want to thank Dansby for his years as a Brave. I respect his move, though sadly. I cannot fault him because what he did as a player's right today could not be done by the players in years back. He is a class act and good for all of baseball.

Go Braves. Dansby is a good dude, great leader, sharp guy, student of the game, a winner, excellent defender, plays everyday. He finally started to become a better hitter thru 2021. He was really the Braves MVP in 2022 with his clutch hitting. He picked up the slack from the 2 hole with some of our key players underperforming or injured. Hurts deeply to lose him and he will miss the Braves too. Will be interesting to see if his hitting will continue to ascend and the strikeouts can be held under control. If it does Dansby will be the best SS signing this season. And you can guarantee he will do everything to improve. Good luck Lt Dans.

It's almost been a year ago but when you're best employee does everything for you and brings you a world championship and MVP and you can't give him a 6th year you become known as a dick head Alex Matt Olson not even close to the clutch player that Freddie Freeman is a 300 hitter does not slump when we let Freeman go are chances to repeat were done and now this year we're not as good as we were last year and teams have got better and we're at the salary cap is Alex really doing that good of a job no other GM we've had has been able to spend money I know it's time to move on about Freeman but I miss watching the dude play every night brings a tear to my eye not watching him in a Braves uniform he's a great guy I think the team will take a step back this year
They replaced Freeman with another 'hometown dude'. Swanson ? He was great, but what do you do with Grissom ? Shewmake is coming up, too. Braves might be better without Swanson.

Grisham is good, I don’t see him better then Dansby, I think this was all Ron Washington . He kept pulling for Grisham and they let Swanson go . But I’m happy for him , great guy and player .
Life long Braves fan, first and foremost. Grew up with WGN and Harry Carey and Steve Stone. Great duo and Hall of Famers. Congratulations on signing Dansby . Personally feel he is best Defensive Shortstop in baseball. Offensively he has challenges and he will continue to battle those each and every year, to not fall into the bad habits he has a tenancy to fall into at times. Not bashing him at all and hope he has a All Star year every year, except when he plays Braves of course. He in my opinion is not worth 24 million or whatever Cubs are paying him . Just my opinion. Braves have plenty of great players and feel we can make up offensive he contributed at other positions and due it for less money . We can spend money on other players to have a more well rounded team. My Braves are trying to have consistency each and every year and to do that we have to all business when making decisions on players and we have to draft well and develop those players. Second we cant let personal feelings guide our decisions. But I grew up playing this great game and was taught alot about life with the great coaches and players I was blessed to play with . Honestly people won't probably believe me but at a early age I learned not from great people not to never ever do ANYTHING for 💰 being the driving force. That's for several reasons I won't go into. But I would honestly love to of had the talent to play in the Major Leagues , but I didn't , but I would have honestly played for much less money than players ask for now and one reason would be I feel players lose their edge after becoming that wealthy. 💰 Comes with it own set of problems that no one ever really talks about. Plus many other reasons . I will root for the Cubs when not playing Braves and wish Dansby nothing but the best.
