The U.K. has raised hundreds of millions for these people. I hope the vast majority of that will be staying here in the U.K. to help those that come here and not to prop up the EU’s intake. What was it a French politician said recently, something along the lines of ‘the U.K. needs to take more, we’re not taking them all’. Much like they haven’t taken any of those sitting in that shanty town in Calais. Last I looked, 2.5 million have fled Ukraine, the U.K. has offered to take 300k, that’s 8%. Even during WWII. Polish people and polish soldiers, especially polish fighter pilots helped Great Britain to survive. But Winston Churchil in one face smiled to them but in other... In Jalta did not want to agree for a POLAND COUNTRY.
In 2014 more than 1 million Ukrainians fled to Poland when Putin attacked their country the first time around. This is now turning into a blessing in disguise as many of them are now taking in their newly arrived countrymen as are Poles who have always had close ties with their neighbors. Not to forget: Western Ukraine was a part of Poland until 1945 when Stalin ordered the borders be moved West. 100s of 1000s of Poles were expelled and resettled in Silesia and Pomerania where 100s of 1000s of Germans had to leave their property within an hour's notice and move West during the big post-WW2 ethnic cleansing.
This is the first time ever I read a decent comment on the border change written by a German I assume? I'll correct you a little though. Poles in Lviv and that region had literally an hour's notice - so had my grandparents. Now I live in formerly German Oberschlesien from where Germans were expelled gradually and that process lasted till 1950 so they had much longer time to gather their belongings.
You forgot to add that those poor Germans, driven out of their estates, had previously expelled Poles from these lands, taking their houses from them, and often murdering all Poles in the entire town. You missed such a detail.
@@marzenanikiel4288 Not really. Pre-WW2 Germans and Poles lived in those areas side by side - sometimes in conflict. Most ordinary Germans in Silesia or Pomerania had nothing to do with what the Wehrmacht did to Poles in that region at the onset of WW2. Just like Poles had no choice when Stalin annexed the Eastern third of Poland for the USSR and these people were then forcibly resettled on land (given to Poland in exchange) stolen from ethnic Germans who were driven out on no notice.
Can you see how these refugees are behaving? They are so grateful for help even we polish haven't offer them to much. They want integrate, learn language and work. Those People brought good value with them.

Now I live in formerly German Oberschlesien from where Germans were expelled gradually and that process lasted till 1950 so they had much longer time to gather their belongings.
You forgot to write why it happened, because the Germans started WW2 and in 1939 they were the same as Putin's Russia

Truth is Poland decided to help all those who were treated like shit by Russia or the West including Muslims from Russia.
I hope Great Britain will ease up on the red tape. Ensure there are appropriate processes in place to resettle Ukrainian refugees. Words are little comfort to displaced people. We can do more.
The kid at the end, by the fire. 😭🙏❤️
God Bless these wonderful Polish people for their hospitality & kindness...May they receive from God above much more than they give...🙏🙏🥰🥰
Why would god bless them, they didn't let in a single syrian refugee a few years ago, and now they are suddenly angels? To hell with racism and xenophobia.
@@heyyo162 Being real regugee means you are looking for help in the first no war country you enter. It's not "I want to go through Poland to get to Germany because it has better social benefit system".
@@Blanka1100 so they along with their children and babies should be thrown into the waters than to die just because they came to your country?
@@Blanka1100 They had no choice but to pass some countries that either could not, or flat out refused to offer them any help, like Hungary and Poland.
@@heyyo162 If you want to go to Germany don't use "Lukashenko travel" because you will be used and cheated. They should have been looking for help in the neighberhood. Lukashenko used them as a weapon to test Poland as Nato member state. It was a hybrid attack. It was about country's safety. Not about migration like 2015.
Where are they heading to? England...like all the refugees do🤔
Not welcome in Britain 🇬🇧
these people from poland are amazing!
What a war can do to people.

they not diverse enough for the UK government to take them
Great and appriciated to these innocent people of Ukraine - they are really suffering a lot. I feel sad and sympathy to all Ukraininan people. The dramatic situation for every family - suddenly have to leave their beautiful country. Stay Strong - We stay with you. This is Putin´s war. His time is comming to the end. Best Wishes from STOCKHOLM - SWEDEN
Let's hope that his end does not result in our end ;) What with the magnetic poles moving farther apart, a reversal is on the horizon then who knows.
SUFFERING ? ua-cam.com/video/gxVtAj2sKho/v-deo.html POLISH BORDER ON THERE MORE CARS VANS COMING INTO UKRAINE WAKE UP MAN
Tragic yet beautiful story.
It's official government policy to allow in as many refugees as they can. The politicians, of all parties, are following one of the instructions from the World Economic Forum, which is to increase the diversity of the population. The ultimate aim is to have a one-world (unelected) global government.
Covid took a back seat pretty quickly
Shame about our Brexit Govt then - perhaps it fears a backlash from the Gammon demographic?
Great that ordinary Brits are helping. Hat off to Poland Moldova Romania and those equally brave Russian demonstrators.
Not our concern. Kindness always bites you on the ass. Uk is slowly turning into a third world country full of third world people

One thing I am sure ...
Not heading Russia or Belarus.
This is an uplifting story of volunteers coming to the rescue on a large scale during a humanitarian crisis. There may be hope for humanity yet. I have become more cynical as I have gotten older, I should revaluate that cynicism after seeing this video. Best wish to all from the USA.
A few good deeds do not change much. Cynicism and a touch of paranoia keep things real.
@@chestikov2011 i m German. I was only born because my mother and father were helped during their flight at the end of ww2. By polish people and later good hearted people in Germany. Every individual help has ripple effects. Forever
@@awpetersen5909 I'm glad it all worked out for you A W. Jurgen Klopp 4 ever. If you were born post war you must be getting on in life and maybe have children and grand children. I wonder why Germany who I saw as rational and pragmatic sent weapons to Ukraine going totally against their rules?
@@chestikov2011 international pressure, being called egoistic if Germany would not help Ukraine with weapons. Everyone was in shock because of Putin's betrayal of invading a sovereign country. Sudden fear that Poland, the baltic states etc.would fall prey next. Everyone I know is shocked and in disbelief. So I guess one can say, it is fear that changed all principles.
@@awpetersen5909 Similar to other nations, the US prohibited all ‘new investment, trade, and financing by US persons to, from, or in DNR and LNR regions of Ukraine. The Soviet Union let Ukraine do it's own thing ie declare independance. Within other countries Moldova for instance separitist areas pro Moscow similar to DNR LNR were attacked, so over the years The Russian Federation have given these places aid. So my point is when the Ukrainian army clashed with these seperatist states (Battle of Mariupol 2014 ) these conflicts went on and on. The EU sucks in the Baltic states, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova offers BIG MONEY and trade. The refusal of the Ukrainian President to sign EU trade deals led to violent protests not just civillians, paramilitaries and agents provacateur. Biden made a slip of the tongue when he said OUR border between Poland and Ukraine,, then corrected himself. ( Freudian slip) NATO expands like some Napoleonic adventure.
So sad , I feel very very sorry
They don't feel sorry for you because you are brown and Indian. They only care now for Ukrainian because they are white European with blonde hair blue eyes.
