    I love how you just run the dies thru once! And it was cut perfect. You did a good job making your magnetic plates! thanks

    Thank you for sharing this. I already own some of the vent covers to store my dies, so I really like this idea! You saved me some money so I can buy more dies lol

    Honey, you can turn your plate over so the curve faced down, the really curved one, and run it through. It will straighten out the curve and won’t hurt your machine. Once you do that, then every other time you run it through, reverse it, turn it over to the other side, and that will keep it from cupping or curling so much. You will always have a straight plate. You can do this with all of your plates that curl!!!

    Hi Angie. Thank you for the tip. It was the EPIC Machine that came out years ago and they had the self healing mat. It wasn't a huge selling machine, but I got it and loved it. I never thought to cut up my own self healing mats (I have 4, duh!)I love my pink one that is like yours. I will cut up one or two of my green ones. I don't know why the manufacturers of these machines won't tell us this, about the healing mats. My hubby can cut them for me, when he gets home from his trip or I may ask a person at HD to cut them. They are very nice and even if they charge me a few bucks it is worth it.
    You can get cheap magnetic mats at the Home Depot. I use them and cut them up to store my dies on. They are vent covers for your heat ducts. They come 3 in a pack and are about 12" in length and about 8" wide, and are about $4.
    Can you tell me or can anyone tell me the name of that die and who makes it, the one that was on "Bobbie's" Channel. I would love to get one, please?!
    I SUBSCRIBED and gave a THUMBS UP. Thank you.

    Thank you for asking, I pulled them both out and did a wiggle/flap test, by placing a medium size Anna Griffin die on each and wiggling it around aggressively and the Spellbinders won. As far as just placing them on the magnetic plate they are about equal, I would say size preference would determine which you might want to use. Hope this helps.

    I’m new to die cutting and am trying to watch a bunch of vids. I wish you hadn’t rushed through the stacking of the plates and putting the die cut ( up or down??) on the whatever you put it on! I’ll watch again, slowing down the vid but I’m pretty frustrated right now! 😞😞😞😞

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I'' try to make a new video that shows placement for dies. I was focusing on making an alternative magnetic mat. Now days you it doesn't matter as much which way you place your die for cutting. It can be die up with paper on top or paper on the bottom and die facing down. Some prefer to cut against the magnetic mat and keep the top acrylic plate unmarked which can be helpful when you are embossing and do not want to have cut marks pressed against your paper. Thanks again for watching!

    Did you know you can also use a "self healing craft mat" as a replacement for those "B plates" that warp all the time???

    Have you tried cutting into the magnetic mat so you don’t have to do the second embossing step?

    Hi. Great video and very clever idea. Just wondering what the measuring guide sheet you were using is? I have a Big Shot and have no idea what the guide sheet is or what it does. Thanks for any help in advance.

    Hi Angie. Love this video and as others are saying you are saving a few of us some $$. My question is, if I do not have the Little B grid, what else could you use, a sheet protector maybe? TY

    • @tinkstreasurez
      @tinkstreasurez  6 років тому +1

      Thanx for asking, you could use a sheet protector if you wanted, but I mostly did it, just for having a grid for if you want want to precisely cut a piece of paper with a die. Good luck, hope you enjoy.

    can i ask some questions... i didnt catch all the details. and why is there a need for another mat .. ie the magnetic mat..

    • @WendysCraftDen
      @WendysCraftDen 6 років тому +1

      Hi me again. The magnetic mat keeps your die in place instead of using a piece of tape to hold it to the card. I use the piece of tape at the moment until i can afford a magnetic plate or get round to making one, xx

    The rubber mat doesn't get cut when you run it thru to emboss?

      @tinkstreasurez  7 років тому +1

      Brenda Weidman do you mean the tool in one, for getting out the small pieces? It is from Spellbinders.

    what is a shim?

    • @WendysCraftDen
      @WendysCraftDen 6 років тому +1

      Hi I just read your comments a Shim is a piece of paper or card you put in so you have the correct pressure for your die to cut out nicely. When i first started die cutting i had no idea either. Hope this helps.xx

    Can't you take your mats to Home Depot and ask the man to cut it to size? (Go during a slow time or ask your pretty daughter to take it to HD?)🙄
