Fantastic video Paul thanks so much!! Tom had the best day, I am one proud fiancee! Cannot wait for us to be husband and wife next year 🥰 xxx
Well done, congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
Thank you Jen. Glad you enjoyed it. Tom was a star and it was a pleasure to hike with him today. I really appreciate him joining me in a video. He’s a natural and very inspiring to others to get out and enjoy the beautiful countryside. I look forward to seeing the photos of your big day.
...new subscriber viewing from Portugal ....Have seen a few of your "therapy sessions"..and truly, truly enjoyed seeing the views and some real happy people....Thanks for the effort you put in to this stuff...
A very, very good video, Paul. As you say, 'You don't need to be a fitness instructor or a skinny minnie, take your time and one foot after another, and you have got this'. Fantastic encouragement to your viewers to get out, and enjoy the countryside,
More power to Tom for having a camera in his face, seems like a solid bloke. What a great day on the hills!
Nice one Paul. Good on you Tom! Best of luck. There are no strangers, just friends you have not met yet!
Nice little video Paul. And good sport Tom well done for getting out there great scenery up there!!
A bit of me wants to see that sequel when Tom gets a tent and does his first wild camp. ⛺ 💪🏻
Great vid, good on yer Tom 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great idea Paul. We'll done Tom. Big incentive for you there 💪🏴
Great video Paul, and well done to Tom, keep it up Tom.
Great to see this , memorable day for Tom.
Great idea this interacting with fans mr messner you should a wild camp with patreon member and do a q&a with them
Well done Tom lad!! 😊
I think this has been one of your best videos Paul. Tom looks like he had an amazing time going on a yomp with yourself. Glad you both had a great day 😊
That was lovely Paul. When finances allow I'll be joining the group then. This is why you have such success - approachable, open and enthusiastic for the outdoors. Loving this daily moment of time out.
I adored this video. Two very real chaps, one is a LEGEND 🙌 👏 🙏 and one had an INCREDIBLY LEGENDARY 🙌 👏 ADVENTURE 🙌 👏 with a LEGEND 🙌 . PAUL, you're The Best guy ever for making that hike happen. Blessings all around 🙏 ✨ 🙌.
Enjoyed that! A great little adventure and a good, positive way to spend time. All the best to him; he seemed like a really nice chap.
Enjoying the daily vlogs 👍🏻
A great video and a lovely thing to do. I hope you meet Tom for a wildcamp at some point in the future.
Maybe you could make a living guiding hikers in your favorite playgrounds?😊 tiny groups?😊
Derwent Edge was one of my go-to hikes in the Peaks. Been a while since I've been though. My usual route starts at Cutthroat bridge, up to Back Tor then down to Howden Dam and then one of the various routes back alongside the reservoir back to the car at Cutthroat. Between 10 and 12 miles if memory serves 😁.
10yrs ago i went wild camping up in sunderland with a bunch of strangers i met online in a group lol, was a great decision. we still have wild camps either there or down my way
A stranger I met on the Internet.
What could go wrong?
Well done Tom and Paul great video.
A lovely video Paul, it was kind and encouraging, and Tom I wish you many years of happiness in the great outdoors
Man, the boulders look like sculptures up there! Beautiful scenery. It is very nice of you showing that fellow around. You’re doing well for the June challenge!😊
Great video, lovely to see one of your Patreon members joining you or was it the other way round….
Great to see you and your followers meeting up for a hike.well done Tom,good luck for future hikes, camps etc👍🏼💪🏼
Fellow sheffielder here mate once again, a very different and interesting vid.
There's nothing wrong with strangers, as long as they don't give you sweets in the outdoor shop and ask if you want to see some puppies 😅
🤣 Unless female, in which case I'd be happy to accept the sweets & see some puppies...!!!😄✔️💯🙄🤪😉👍👊...
Oooooo puppies 😆 I could get banned from UA-cam, so I'll shut up now !
That was a beautiful hike! Thanks for sharing!
Nice fella him
It looks so stunning. One day I will make it up from the isle of wight and do the trek.
I'm a Peak District virgin, although I was born in the Midlands and was an avid walker and wild camper for the first half of my life. Work and family then took over so the opportunity for such escapades decreased in ratio with the increase in my waistline. Luckily I live on the edge of a National Park so I can be out for a walk and back in time for the cat's teatime now.
Best of the daily vlogs yet! Maybe more of these in the future? If you can find some willing strangers 😅.
lovely Paul. I am setting off from home in Jersey by ferry to St Malo, then on my electric velo to Redon in Brittany. Here I join the Veodysee which I hope to follow all the way down the Atlantic coast of France to Hendaye on the Spanish border. I will be bike packing most of the way and must say have taken a lot of inspiration and knowledge by watching you on your UA-cam adventures, Regards JM
You sound like a good inspiration yourself- thanks for sharing 🙏
Is that Rock formation near Kinder Scout because i’m planning to go to the Peak District, some point this summer and cool video keep up the excellent work
I've met up with plenty of strangers to go hiking with and they've all been good company! The only negatives I've had to deal with is being ghosted, which wasn't any big deal
Thumbs up for Barms 👍
Wicked video paul , looking my self for my first camp , got some good ideas thanks
I've really enjoyed your daily videos videos. Simple wholesome outdooryness.
Here’s one for you: Do a collab with Kent Survival! He can’t hike as far as you, and he’s your opposite in many ways, but I’d love to see how he does on one of your trips. Don’t know if the other way around would work as well, but maybe! Cheers!
Tom, don't let Jo know, but if you need a tent, Paul's got a couple. Also, nice hike
Great paul . Like tom you have inspired me to get out i got my tent a couple of weeks ago just need a few other bits and ill be off in to the wild camping .plus you helped by highlighting some great spots 👌 👍
Lovely video. Top tip for Tom (don’t anger the rain gods saying you’ve got away with the weather) 😂😂😂😂
Nice to see a proper built lad enjoying himself.nice one
What a lovely heratwarming video, really nice to see you engage with your followers and acknowledge them. Credit where credit is due.
I've a sneaky feeling Paul will give you a tent
It's a cracking walk up there. I did it a few months ago and an RAF Airbus A400M did a flypast as I was near that place where you said you getting view by deviating of the path a few metres. Good to show that you don't have to be built like an athlete to get to some amazing views. Needs a follow-up video when Tom does his first wildcamp I reckon!
that was a lovely video
Brilliant video, good that you are teaming up with your audience, getting out there and enjoying beautiful places .
Maybe one day you'll grow up Paul and out grow hiking
Just a nice little vlog. 👍🏻❤️
Really good that. The first stumbling block I ever find is where to park /start from. Definitely given Tom some good tips and motivation!
Very enjoyable. Love the idea of a group hike followed by a beer and burger. Unfortunately can't commit as I'm typically on the other side of the globe.
I was at Back Tor yesterday (from Bradfield) - and followed by a great lunch and pint at The Strines Inn!
Good to see a plus sized lad getting out. Sadly they don't make gear for us fatties as much as for thinner people and probably that makes good economic sense. I like having the kit, all part of the fun of our hobby but hard to find 5XL clothing made for purpose. Do a few more of these accompanied hikes and camps, Paul. Reward your patreons.
Another great video Paul, I think your idea about organising some mini hikes would be a great idea, especially for people who are new to the hiking community (like me). I’d be very interested in learning some new skills! 👌
This is a great idea Paul, credit to you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Great video! Well done you two.
Great video. I only live in Rotherham and should start visiting these places, instead of been sat on my backside when I’m not working
This is great video content. Very good for mental health.
Enjoy all your videos, keep up the great work. From Canada Thanks !
Nice one Tom. It's great to get out.
Awesome video.
Nice one Paul and Tom
Well done Tom 👍
That's great you let him join you. Most people would not.
Nice one Tomm-o
Nice to bump into you today, great video as always
Wholesome content as always Paul.
it also amazes me how much open land there is in Great Briton. You think it would be over populated everywhere by now especially with how many people live there.
Great stuff Paul. Love it
Great video, and good luck Tom, and it’s definitely “barms” 😀
Good vid, show the ropes of outdoor life. All good. Yes, Andy has some crazy tents but affordable ones as well. He needs a big airpump.
That's dope he let you join him🙌
Great concept 👊🏼
Great video mate
Would Like to see more videos Like this one showing routes for different fitness and skill levels to see those fantastic views 😊
Great video guys.
great work lads
A stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet.
Great vid.
Brilliant Paul!
This is brilliant ❤
Have you ever considered taking a ‘newbie’ out wild-camping for a night Paul? Obviously they would have to ensure they have adequate kit for the night. I think it would give people confidence and it might be another income stream for you Paul!
It's a good walk up onto Derwent Edge; fairly easy from the cutthroat bridge lay-by. The edge itself is paved and generally not too tough. I must do it again earlier in the day. It was 8:20 when I got back to the car last time. Injuried again at the moment, but will be doing the prescribed physio and be up and about again late July.
Great video the camping idea is a good idea.
Nice views. They would look spectacular if the Sun was shining.
I understood him completely, clamouring over those rocks to touch the Trig point whilst so out of breath.
Those views over the rock edge would have my vertigo kicking in.
Good video, I enjoyed it. Best wishes to both of you.
Nice one 🙏
This one is really good one 🎥
Well Tom beats pubs and TV don't it
Have a bit of a natter? I think that’s the same as small talk in American English. Anyway nice vid Paul, just proves that most hikers are kindred spirits.
Great video Well Done to you Both for sharing your day with me Tom did ever so well ❤️ what was the app used to keep a note of the Triggs he had completed thanks 👍
Another great vlog. New to Wild camping myself. What are the chances of being asked to move on if camping around Derwent edge?
Can't help the feeling that your a pretty normal, decent bloke Paul. This just confirms it. Please unsuppress your inner gear review nerd though. Forget the trolls. Or at least tell us how you achieved it (counting the grams as I type) :)
Kudos to Tom for not murdering Paul 😋
Must resist..... dont say it Mart..... (first) damn! :)
👍
Think you should do one of these videos once a month or once a couple of months
That's the plan. I'm sure there's some really interesting stories to be told
@PaulMessner they would definitely be good watches, 2 way interviews aswel, bit of a Q&A session with beer or 2 lol
Stay off those dogging sites😂
😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Dear Mr messner.. I will be on mam tor and winnets pass on the solstice next week ( Thursday) .am a fellow utuber, but as I don't put my face in the videos I don't get the subs ( I started because of my grandkids , so don't care about subs ).. if you want to do somthing together let me know..
