I accidentally created an interplanetary connection between Glacio and Calidor. From the lower levels of Glacio I was setting up Astronium delivery and my track linked to a post in the Obelisk layer of Calidor.
Vanilla no cheats: 1. decide where (map link in video description already) 2. build railway up to terrain height limit 3. Make some stations 4. unpack midair and look, you can connect them 5. continue for in-between section and you should get an interplanetary railway
Who needs rockets when we have trains? Btw amazing project! You just realized the dream of an interplanetary way of travel. LoL I've seen some people trying to make bridges to other planets but it never worked.
I will use this method to bring all space probes to one planet. You can move space probes by attaching a winch to a packager or dynamite and then placing the packager or dynamite on the probe. When you hold the winch it should move the probe. You can also use any tier 1 slot item and place it where the probe scanner goes.
2024 UPTATE For those who are trying to use this mod nowadays, here's an update. Everything still works, the mod is still compatible. It basically removes the max length or rails pathfind, so it looks infinitely for another post, even if it is on another planet. Forget the map that shows all planets around Sylvia; they all still stack up aligned with their North/South pole. You can turn the mod on and off at will with the Modloader. It does not break the game, and rails still work even when disabled. Tips for doing this in survival mode: - Finish the game and all quests (Unlock all gates and all rail-related blueprints). - You don't need the mod yet. Starting with Sylvia, create a pillar (level blocks are good for this) at the North and South pole of each planet you want the rail to pass through. You don't need to build very high, just enough so that the post doesn't conflict with another one and is able to find the other post at the destination planet's opposing pole. - Launch the game with the mod activated and simply remove and place the post. It will tether with the other. You don't want to have this mod on at all times since it makes it very hard to use rails properly. Once I understood how the mod works, I just laid all the rails the way I needed, then launched the game with the mod on, connected all rails, then launched the game with no mods again. Any rail post can be a potential tether to another post, so be careful with those Glacio and Calidor posts lying around. Anytime you place a post that finds another post, it can dig a hole along the length of the rail, going through caves and your base (sigh).
this helped but im having a problem where the posts arent finding any of the other planets posts except the glacio pre generated ones. So basically any planet I try to do the posts will always connect to a glacio post, so legit I can have the train rides going like 30 minutes from 1 planet to another. I find this extremely weird.
@@davidslauksteins8715, it is hard to use posts properly while this mod is active. What I did was lay down all the posts I needed for the track (you can use the view distance as a guide since it does not matter how far apart the posts are located. I kept the next post within my viewing distance and so on...). The last one that connects to the other planet must be perpendicular to the ground, facing the sky, preferably on top of that respective pole gate. Use terrain block tools to make a smooth pillar. Do the same on the other planet and only then, turn on the mod and start connecting all posts.

That would be a trip, all connected, despite different orbiting velocities. If, instead, a train loop was made at each orbit, then each trainer would move the same rate.
My other comment was stupid lol i didn't know it was a mod, but thanks so much for showing us how to get the mod, you can automate getting all resources with trains now Easily, I don't have to go to Vesania manually now to get lithium for my RTGs
Unfortunately, shortly after I posted that comment, I discovered that it is not a game quirk but a mod, so unfortunately no nanocarbon alloy farm for me
Hi. I still do not understand, to connect the planets train can only be in this specially made mod game? playing in the normal steam version of the game does not work?
why does mine always connect to glacio? doesnt matter which planet i try to set it up from and N or S, always only connects to the random auto placed things on glacio.
Help anyone, I've tried using a large rover in creative to go build a path to other planets and put railways on it from glacio, when I get too far away the created path turns blue and I float away, the rover floats away
Unfortunately, it's modded. From what I know, it can be done on vanilla, but it's extraordinarily hard. The mod removes the length restriction on the rail posts, so that you don't need to bridge all the way to the seam between planets to set up the railway.
so %100 automated nanocarbon alloy farm is possible! WOW
Fully automated, but really slow. it took a while to get just from Sylva to Vesania, so getting between Glacio and Atrox would take literal hours.
@@gaster000 But hey, at least it's automatic. Btw, do you mean in-game hours or IRL hours?

If the developers would just add a shipping platform that uses a large resource or gas container to automatically send good to your home base.

automation is not connected to planets very nice :D

This is the coolest thing I have EVER seen anyone do yet!!
Unless you’re in a special solar system this shouldn’t work. Some planets travel faster than others in the base game right?
The actual terrain of the planets doesn't move, those are just skybox decorations moving around the orbits.

I get that it works, but the rocket seems a bit quicker. You accelerated time after calling the train from Sylva and it still took a bit to arrive.
this has more potential bc it alows automated interplanetary transportation

I would make a Fraght yard one main planet but also build a offworld train that can go from planet to planet but u have to pay to go to other planets

Question though, how on earth did you lose your shuttle so many times you locked every landing spot??

Is it possible to get from Novus to Atrox to make a loop?
yes u can
