- Come join me for a tour of my friend Catherine's garden. Located in the peaceful countryside of a coastal town, her garden is a relaxing and beautiful space. Despite the challenges of deer eating her plants, she’s done a great job making her garden thrive. Gardening alongside nature can be tough, but she’s made it work wonderfully. Her husband Josh, who is a skilled carpenter, also adds his touch by building things like the entrance arbor, trellises, a pallet walkway to a nature deck, and soon a garden shed where they can sit and enjoy the view of her beautiful blooms. I hope you enjoy this tour of Catherine's lovely garden. Thanks for watching- Steph 🌱 (Gardening in Massachusetts zone 6b). #gardening #gardentour #landscape #design #plants

Catherine’s garden is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us Steph
Thank you to Catherine for sharing her beautiful yard and gardens with us. Those morning glories are beautiful … are they as invasive or a more tame variety of glories?
Also loved her greenhouse… did her husband build that himself from ordinary windows?
So unique.
Thank you Steph for taking us along on your visit😊❤️
Thank you Catherine for sharing your beautiful gardens with us, everything is so beautiful...and thank you Steph for taking us on tours of other gardens so we can enjoy the community you're building and have built around Hooked and Rooted!

Thank you so much 💚
So beautiful and peaceful, Catherine, thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you, Catherine, for sharing your lovely garden. I have added plants to my list of things to grow next year.🦋🦋🦋
Those white alliums are actually garlic chives and they’re edible! Mine are in bloom now too and are covered in pollinators!
Aren't they spreaders???
@@zoreslavazinczenko1060 Yes they do spread easily. I have mine in a pot to keep it from spreading underground and try to cut back the flowers before they go to seed.
Thank for sharing Jess! 🌱
I've lopped the top off all of mine, although the seedheads are so pretty.
I couldn't understand the name of the vine with the little pods. Would you consider printing plant names in the screen?
She has a beautiful garden. ❤❤❤
Wow Steph its so beautiful i enjoy every moment of the tour thanks for sharing...🎉🎉❤❤

Hi Sherry! You are so welcome. I have really enjoyed visiting my friends in their gardens this season. Thank you so much for watching 🌱
I had to get rid of my hops because the spotted lantern fly loved them. Beautiful garden!
I planted those pink morning glories this year and love them will plant more next year.😄🌸
They are gorgeous Linda! I can't wait to try them next season 🌱
Catherine, what a beautiful garden youve made.
Very natural and insect friendly.
Wonderful to share plants with planty friends too.😊
I agree! Thank you Jo 🌱💚
7:59 - I highly recommend growing Tithonia! Blooms from mid-summer to fall, drought tolerant, and all of the pollinators LOVE it - bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds! It really makes the garden come to life. One of my favorite annuals.
I absolutely will, its so pretty and you're right, lots of pollinators. The drought tolerant feature is also a bonus! 🌱
I always enjoy these garden tours! I get my gardening notebook ready to write out ideas.
I love them so much also Jenn. I find them so inspiring and I always learn something from other gardeners 💚
Thanks for sharing this video, Stef. Catherine's garden is beautiful!!
Thank you for watching Bella 💚
Thank you Steph for bringing us along. Beautiful garden Catherine, thank you for sharing. The white plants you showed in the beginning of the video, look a lot like garlic chives. 🌸🌸🌸
Such a lovely garden, Thanks for sharing it with us.
Thank you Ana 🌱
Lovely so enjoyed her garden.
Beautiful garden.
Wow! What a lovely tour and Catherine is a wonderful gardener despite those pesky deer! Those white alliums look just like my Garlic Chives which are blooming right now. What was the name of the Hydrangea you thought was Pinky Winky? I winter sowed Lone in a Mist and it spread all over my garden giving it such a stellar quality!! I saved a bunch of seed to give away and start again next year. Thank you so much Steph and Caherine.
Loved all the beautiful plants! Thank you both for the great tour!
I am going to try those Mexican sunflowers next season also Steph I live in zone 9
This is a lovely and expansive garden tour! So much design and care shows in all of Catherine's garden rooms! I've gotten several new ideas. Also, could you tell me the blue hydrangea variety @ 24:30?
Hi Stef 🌺.Your friend has a pretty gaeden and I love the hydrageas and the double morning glory, I have the regular flowers from morning glory . Have a great day .🌺🌻🌺
The allium in the beginning is a garlic chive. You should put them in your cut garden bed and use them for flower arrangements. They will reseed but i just make sure to cut them before they do.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Steph! What a beautiful garden! Thank you for sharing this garden with us. I believe the morning glory you were eyeing is called Split Second Morning Glory. Just wanted to warn you though that they self-seed prolifically. I grew them 2 years ago in a pot on a trellis. I put the trellis away during the winter with the dried up foliage and blooms. I didnt realize as I dragged it to the garage that it scattered seeds along the way to the garage and now it pops up randomly every year. Lol! However, if you don't mind it self-seeding then it is definitely worth growing. 😁
Wow! Her garden is so gorgeous!
I wonder if it would be a good video to share seeds for annuals and Perinials that have worked well.
I bought a lot of seeds not knowing where to go and had done serious flops… just thought.
Deer love anemones
The white are garlic chives. If you let them go to seed, you'll have then Everywhere
White alliums are garlic chives which can be very invasive after seeds drop.
I love these videos. Please use a better camera to get the true green colors even in full sunshine :)
I feel Catherine's pain with the deer damage. They munched off nearly every single hydrangea bloom in my yard. My grandmother had a large yard, and she grew so many different plants. I don't recall her having trouble with deer or bunnies. She lived in a little tiny town of about 700 people. Catherine's garden reminds me of my grandmother's garden.
Hi Jennifer, It can be so disheartening. Its been especially bad this year for some reason. Their populations have increased a lot which isn't helping our plants.
Beautiful garden areas❤ Do you have a water system for all of this, or do you water with a hose?
Hi there! I'm not certain, I can check with Catherine, but I am fairly certain that she waters by hand and depends on rain.
So Beautiful, how many acres she has? ❤
Wow, impressive dahlia garden. Do you know the name of the dahlia at 9:12?
Hi there, That one Catherine calls the Coral Pink Dahlia. I believe it was shared with her. It is a real beauty!
I’ve never seen a double morning glory. I wonder where she got the seeds?
Hi Amy. It's called split second and Catherine got the seeds from baker creek.
The plant in the head pot is tradescantia
Thank you! 🌱
sorry to be a bother but could you link the amazon plant protection bags for the winter that you put over your possible tender chrysanthemums or other plants please~ there were soo many listed on amazon and I wasn't sure which one you got
Hi Lisa, here's a link to the shrub cover: amzn.to/3XsvMZ9
@@HookedandRooted thank you
!
Does gomphrena need to be pinched to get bushy? Mine are always so spindly and leggy - just one single stem with a bloom. ❤
Hi there! There are taller varieties that can be more spindly, and then shorter varieties that are bushier. However, I find that even the taller varieties if you plant them close together, they look much fuller and hold each other up.
What is the name of the morning glory?
split second
