This is what I think Nintendo wanted to do with the boss battles. They obviously wanted to use a wonder effect for each one. Each one is probably different, and Bowser JR is just there to be the character to fight but the wonder effect is what makes each one unique. But yes I wish there was more.
I just wish they'd make brand NEW characters for the bosses, not just enemies but bigger, like genuinely new, that would've been so cool, and fans would've ate that up, but yeah, it's not THAT big of a deal, if the bosses are still fun

@@NickMario1 I don't mind them. I feel like their as important as Jr. and Kamek to Bowser's main cast. Its just that Nintendo doesn't really do anything with them made them memorable 2D games as of late. I feel like they definitely could of benefitted in Wonder as the gimmick in that game is being weird and whacky.
Okay guys let me give you my opinion, the game is amaxing, bosses dont have much variety but are still fun and different each, the game gets more difficult as you go, i dont know what the reviewers are talking, and i would know i just 100% it, hope you guys read this and you too nin10doland (also the special world levels are the hardest)
Plus the bosses aren't that bad I still enjoyed them so plz chill guys

Thanks for your review compilation. Earned a new subscriber. Playing through mario 3d world for the first time right now trying to 100% each level and after 6 worlds it feels like such a grind which makes me sad because i loved the early mario games so much SMW was the perfect 2d side scroller until DKC came along. So looking forward to wonder this friday!
What's crazy is you are only half way through the world's as there are 8 normal ones 3 specials ones and the final one for 100 percenting everything. Having completed the challenge myself I would have to agree it is stupidly tedious
I think that a lack of difficulty is sad, but I think that with the badges, challenge runs will be much more flexible, and we will be able to make more difficulty ourselves.

Challenge can’t pick up coins but you have the coin magnet badge.

If you think about it... classic Mario games didn't really have too many bosses.
Super Mario Bros.: just different iterations of Bowser.
Super Mario Bros. 2: Just like four different ones and many repeated ones.
Super Mario Bros. 3: Much of the same repeated over and over.
Super Mario World: Probably THE one with mostly different bosses, with a few harder versions of previous ones.
Super Mario 64: Just Bowser Three times. I guess mini bosses can count, but they're mostly skippable too.
This game is hopefully the start of a new "series" of Mario games so we can see something new in the future. Or perhaps some free DLC.

Like you said bosses and music really dropped my expectations but overall I think i will enjoy the game
About the difficulty: Note that the developers were talking about getting all of the badges - which is not the same as completing the last level. It might be the case that it is easy to "beat the game" and make the credits roll (which is how most games are reviewed), but it might be a challenge to be a completionist and 100% the game (which is beyond the scope of most game reviews).
as someone who 100%ed the game, there's only three really hard levels in the special world, but those levels are GOOD

I’m honestly genuinely disappointed about our original boss battles. They had a long time to perfect and make boss battles fun but instead we just got the same old same old I mean it probably is still going to be a phenomenal game but it’s still disappointing.
Only thing i dont like is the boss battles. You literally fight bowser jr. Not even anyone else
that's the only boss battle showcased by nintendo, there may be more unique bosses that we haven't seen

Difficulty levels in order...
Journalist- Even for those who can't play video games, you can beat it by flailing wildly at the controller.
Story- Basically easy mode that you can hardly die in as you're made to be basically immortal, unless your a journalist who is flailing wildly at the controller.
Easy- The actual easy mode, the challenge is basically nerfed from normal and you get more powerups/health or etcetera to survive most things.
Normal- The kind of level of play that many people will be doing and how a game is meant to be played. The game doesn't help or hinder you, and is usually the intended level of difficulty.
Hard- Adds something to the game to make it a little or far more challenging, but it's still within the realm of doable to those who have been playing the game on normal to learn the basics.
Elden Ring/Inferno- Frustrating at times, but rewarding if it's made to be manageable. Usually high precision and execution required to get anything done and a single hit is a kill even if you have powerups or full health. Otherwise it would be a waste of the players time if it's completely and truly unfair by cheating the player constantly until the player figures out how to start cheating it back. In a fighting game the AI is reading your button presses and is reacting to them faster than a human would. In a FPS, all the AI enemies are basically hit-scanners and won't miss if you stop moving for a second.
The predicted level of difficulty: Story-Normal, with some flecks of hard, you'll likely never be lower than ninety lives once you get that many.

The fact that bosses were never shown told me that the bosses weren't anything worth writing home about.
Of the seven worlds, they already had one boss covered by Bowser. So they had to come up with six bosses. Then they had one covered for Bowser Jr. So they only had five to work on. They could’ve just had one be kamek and then all they had to do was come up with 4 new ideas.

What was Nintendo thinking
After 100% the game this morning, the difficulty primarily comes from the end game. The one thing I wish they’d change for difficulty sake is to lose 10-coin collectible on death (post checkpoint).
I actually don’t mind the bosses as Mario bosses aren’t that big of a deal in the first place but I’m happy that Bowser JR had a bit in the spotlight as I missed him from NSMB on the DS
But after so many 2d Mario games and with this one especially, we would hope just as much emphasis on the bosses would be taken as the levels with the powers of wonder. Bit of a shame but maybe they are still hiding bosses until after release have a hard time believing it’s only bowser jr for every world and every boss encounter until Bowser at the end.

I knew that Super Mario Bros. Wonder would be strongly reviewed positively, because I figured that it would be an IMMEDIATE smash hit. Honestly though, from what I heard from you regarding the minor spoiler about boss fights, I feel like that Nintendo is TOO lazy to add unique boss fights. I have a feeling, however, that Nintendo should have free updates added to Super Mario Bros. Wonder after its release tomorrow, and maybe that would make the game better. Perhaps, maybe they should do free updates adding maybe a couple new characters, which would also make it better honestly. Regardless, I will still look forward to playing this game after I grab it in the mail this Saturday, since I fortunately pre-ordered it ahead of time, and despite Nintendo being somewhat too lazy to make the game even better.
That boss thing really made me upset, i expected at least a variety like in new super mario bros 1 and 2 xd

I don’t really mind that the only bosses are Bowser and Jr., but it is weird that there’s not even a boss in every region of the map. I’m also disappointed about what people have said about the music. The music, especially in games like Odyssey and Bowser’s Fury recently, are a big part of what makes playing the games so enjoyable.
I think it's great, not the greatest but is good enough to keep us company until what we truly desire: a 3rd Mario Maker and 3d adventure game.
My guess on why Nintendo devs said this was going to be super hard is that it's just hard to complete. Easy to beat, but hard to complete.

I knew the levels themselves weren’t gonna be hard, obviously the devs were saying that collecting everything is hard not the levels themselves.
I had literally called it when the first boss was revealed. I knew we were only fighting BJ. I really hope the rest of the game makes up for it. But at least the New Super Mario Bros Series had different bosses for each world, yes the games did have the koopalings every time in every game but at least it wasn’t the same koopaling in every world. Which is why the New Super Mario Series is amazing series and it’s garbaged on just for its bosses. Wonder doesn’t have that.

The other day, I realized that comment the devs made about the difficulty was bs... THEYRE THE DEVS. They know how to beat those levels
6:44 the game not being too difficult isnt something im looking for, it's not like im looking for a dark souls experience. i'm just looking for some good ol mario platforming fun. sometimes people gotta go into a game with a mindset, not EVERYTHING needs to be super difficult, plus while i can do difficulty (and i would know because i've played and cleared after alterna in splatoon3, champions road from 3D world, trial of the sage leaf in pikmin 4) but lets just say i hated every moment of them. while i think they would do good to have some pretty challenging stages like donkey kongs KONG stages, the whole game does not need to be that, mario isn't that type of game. if you crave that KAIZO experience play mario maker. im playing the game to have fun, not to be overly angry and stressed out on a stupid hard level for hours.
