I actually liked the movie. It was really dark (no pun intended) and eerie, and the plot is very original. It was strange to see a reverse vampire-dominated world, but it was pulled off well.

A sequel set years later when the script is flipped again. Humans have taken over. The last remaining vampires are hunted. Some rich assholes fancy becoming vampires in order to gain or regain immortality.
Besides the two just referencing another film, I think that line is cool too. To me, it's like by him mentioning crossbows, it's like he's bringing up old vampire legends again. He's in a world where like 95% and up are actually now vampires, and for those trying to cure it and restore the human race, it would seem to be hopeless. But, he's got a crossbow. one of the classic vampire killers, so it's like he's saying that what he's facing is really just the fairy tale that can be defeated, for those who know its weakness.

Other than the cheesy ending where the car drives off into the sun, the concept of the whole movie was amazing, how they showed vampires as a civilization. The themes and meanings behind the movie can actually reflect our society today. Loved the dark and chill tone of this movie.

It took me awhile to like the strangers things version(which is more original ironically), but both are gold. I think stranger things 4 makes it a masterpiece though with Max's whole story

Whenever anyone asking me to recommend a vampire movie, this is always my first answer. I like how ironic and sarcastic it is. The concept is so unique. Even though the ending is a little bit off, I'm still a big fan.

A TV show fleshing out this world would be Perfect if ever a remake or reboot happens. I love the movie, just wish there was more of it, cause it was such interesting idea and world and setting, & seeing it buildup to this world of vampires and then see the problems and effects that it has, as it just to tears down over time. There are cinematic moments when you fully understand humanity. This is a great movie and I will always remember this, in particular a heartbreaking scene you can choose to be the cure or the cause (I want to share it but don’t want to spoil ending so watch this movie).
The subsiders are terrifying but the scene where they’re all dragged into the sun was actually sad in a way. It’s kind of assumed most are good people who the rich and powerful turned their backs on when they needed help. It’s a real eerie reflection of real life

This movie easily warrants a sequel. They could go so many ways with it too: 1. People still holding onto their immortality because there's a cure and now an equilibrium to humans and vampires, so why turn back? The blood supply and substitution is there. 2. Humans having the fight advantage and now vampires are the victims and the ones fleeing/in-hiding because they're being force fed cured blood from the humans. 3. Vampires are now the minority fighting a war against the humans because they fear for their immortal lives. 4. Vampire baby snatchers, turning babies that are pure and have virgin blood and building an army of vampires. 5. A serial killer that purposefully kidnaps and captures females vampires, depriving them of blood and thus transforming them. civilisation
I agree, this movie should have a sequel and a prequel. Maybe a tv series as the sequel. And think about this, Bromley's company developed the blood substitute before anybody else, so he won't be catering to markets in America, but the entire world and the company will make millions. Bromley may be dead but someone might take over the buisness. There are lots of reasons why so many people chose to be turned into the undead, one of many were the elderly, they probably had illnesses that were going to kill them like how Bromley mentioned that in 2008 he was diagnosed with cancer and when the world changed he saw immortality and being the living dead as his cure. Next the human rights were abolished so you only had two choices, be a vampire or be farmed to nourish the undead civilization and die, that's why many were to afraid to see death as an option so that is why many turned. Thirdly, some were probably non religious and didn't believe in God's existence nor the existence of the afterlife that is another reason to not see death as an option and leads to the choice of becoming nosferatu. The young men in women in their teens or twenties didn't want to grow old but stay young and beautiful. So yeah these reasons would cause the vampires to wanna go to war against the human race.
this looks like a very good movie, i love how this and district 9 display action and interesting footage, but also send a strong message on how people interact with one another and need to get along in order to survive, there doesn't always have to be just one victorious race

Great movie. Very outside the box approach (vampires being the majority and humans having to hide in shadows) and great allegory for how we are all kind of vampires exhausting the world’s natural resources and farming animals to extinction.
The movie is really good. It reminds me of current events. It shows both political and inequality events.... I give it 7 stars. I wanted it to be 8 or above, but since there was no second episode, I left it with only 7 stars...
The humans could survive in this world: 1. Bring back chainmail armor. 2. Use bullets coated with silver. 3. Use flamethrowers. 4. Set traps during the day. 5. Use UV lamps everywhere. 6. Sell blood on the black market to pay for everything else.

Such an interesting concept, a sort of unique twist on the zombie genre, ruined by a terrible script, sub-par directing and budget issues. Instead of showing the vampire plague as being totally bad and irredeemable they could have instead showed us a world where 99% of people were living better than they ever were as vampires, at the cost of the humans cattle suffering in a world where they are at the bottom of the food chain and the conflicts that arise within.
Great concept, great cast, but they needed a stronger storyboard or established franchise to build upon like Vampire the Masquerade or even Underworld (set in the future)

This movie easily warrants a sequel. They could go so many ways with it too:
1. People still holding onto their immortality because there's a cure and now an equilibrium to humans and vampires, so why turn back? The blood supply and substitution is there.
2. Humans having the fight advantage and now vampires are the victims and the ones fleeing/in-hiding because they're being force fed cured blood from the humans.
3. Vampires are now the minority fighting a war against the humans because they fear for their immortal lives.
4. Vampire baby snatchers, turning babies that are pure and have virgin blood and building an army of vampires.
5. A serial killer that purposefully kidnaps and captures females vampires, depriving them of blood and thus transforming them.

I agree, this movie should have a sequel and a prequel. Maybe a tv series as the sequel.
And think about this, Bromley's company developed the blood substitute before anybody else, so he won't be catering to markets in America, but the entire world and the company will make millions. Bromley may be dead but someone might take over the buisness.
There are lots of reasons why so many people chose to be turned into the undead, one of many were the elderly, they probably had illnesses that were going to kill them like how Bromley mentioned that in 2008 he was diagnosed with cancer and when the world changed he saw immortality and being the living dead as his cure. Next the human rights were abolished so you only had two choices, be a vampire or be farmed to nourish the undead civilization and die, that's why many were to afraid to see death as an option so that is why many turned.
Thirdly, some were probably non religious and didn't believe in God's existence nor the existence of the afterlife that is another reason to not see death as an option and leads to the choice of becoming nosferatu.
The young men in women in their teens or twenties didn't want to grow old but stay young and beautiful.
So yeah these reasons would cause the vampires to wanna go to war against the human race.
I only remember this film because I somehow recalled Ethan Hawke was in this. But honestly this looks like an underrated gem, glad I found it again.

Wow. Not sure why i never watched this, but this was pretty good. And really gorgeous cinematography. Some of those camera shots were jaw dropping.
this looks like a very good movie, i love how this and district 9 display action and interesting footage, but also send a strong message on how people interact with one another and need to get along in order to survive, there doesn't always have to be just one victorious race

Great movie. Very outside the box approach (vampires being the majority and humans having to hide in shadows) and great allegory for how we are all kind of vampires exhausting the world’s natural resources and farming animals to extinction.

This movie is the closest thing we will ever get to a sequel to the book "I am legend"
Such an interesting concept, a sort of unique twist on the zombie genre, ruined by a terrible script, sub-par directing and budget issues. Instead of showing the vampire plague as being totally bad and irredeemable they could have instead showed us a world where 99% of people were living better than they ever were as vampires, at the cost of the humans cattle suffering in a world where they are at the bottom of the food chain and the conflicts that arise within.
How do you think it would be done better?
Great concept, great cast, but they needed a stronger storyboard or established franchise to build upon like Vampire the Masquerade or even Underworld (set in the future)
