We just bought my 11 year old daughter a pair of these from the NPS outlet shop - she found them and I have not seen her so happy in ages! She had to have them. Great boots. I almost feel sorry for anybody who messes with her. Almost.
Glad you compared them to the old boot! I have not had my hands on a pair of gripfasts since probably the late 90’s or early 00’s, so it’s nice to see a current boot compared to what I remembered! Thank you!
Little tip, don't do the first tie then the loop the same way.
For example, go right over left then left over right, you will never need to double knot, and your laces will never come undone.... You are welcome!

Those older hi shine aged well, doesn’t look like it creased or cracked badly. I need to figure out which to get, have greasy 8 eye derby boots and love them.

@@georgbourikas8374 alright. Thing is I had a pair of Steels but they didn’t fit right and I had to sell them. Size 38 was way too big for my foot, and 37 was hitting on my big toe.
I can either buy 37 and try to remove the steel toe, or buy 38 and add insoles and a cushion and the back of the foot. What should i do?

Never heard of lace code before this video. Having searched it I found it to be pretty interesting in how it related to the punk community and some of the harsh implications it carries.
@@xAZAZELx13 Maintaining a neutral colour and knowledge of lace code seems to be a fairly good way to prevent immediate and unwanted altercations while giving a good idea of what to look out for in those who do take part (even if they are dwindling in number)
@@xAZAZELx13 I purchased these boots shortly after watching this review and giving it some thought. Thought they were awesome looking boots, not to mention the cap will be good for preventing squished toes

They look fantastic! I am thinking of buying Solovair or Gripfast but because of the steel toe I am not sure what size to order. My Solovair 8 eye derby boots are UK 9,5 and they fit perfectly . Do I need to order the next size up or just to go for my actual size? What would you suggest me?
Basically the quality has gone down, those soles look like they’re gonna wear a lot faster. It’s really making me apprehensive to buy them.

Same! The hi shine ones are beautiful but the greasies feel like they'd be better at hiding scratches and dust
@@sdg1234100 If youre still wondering, don't get the hi shines. The coating tends to break after a couple months and the Leather is usually of lesser quality.
I just got these and went 1/2 down in US sizing due to what they said in the size guide. Did you do the same?
Nice looking boots
My old boots are beginning to crack big time and are worn almost flat. I have put them through hell and back. Might be time for me to begin looking into a new pair or two. Should I get variouse colours which match my outfits? I am a fan of the darker shades and rub-offs. Or should I just stick with black? Wondering what the popular consensus would be on this pressing matter. Thanx for any and all feedback. 🥾

Try buying Steel boots.... Burgundy or black.... The best boots ever. I have 3 pairs. Very comfortable

I have a pair of solovair 14 eye boots and I always straight lace them but I bar lace them mainly because my calves are big. But if you want to get them really tight look up a video on how you European straight lace boots. Oh and the lace length so those laces are from their 11 eye boots but I guess they couldn’t make correct measurements for 10 eye boots. Lace code in England it’s dead but in America not really and I prefer red laces not to offend people only for fashion. Honestly this lacecode stuff is pretty annoying.

@@paige6467 maybe in Europe or 1990. The other thing is that by respecting "the lace code" you're giving a moniker of power to boneheads and nazis. Me and my buddy wear red laces sometimes. One, because it looks good, and two, because I don't want to perpetuate the branding. If someone asks me if I'm a nazi (which they won't cause literally nobody gives a shit) then I can clear things up. And if they think I'm a nazi but don't do or say anything then that's on them 'cause what are you doing letting fascists into your community.

how do you go size wise for these? I’ve heard some people say true to size others say down a half
Did you end up going true to size?
@@dravenbbs66 go one half size down worked for me especially with this very generous last it is recommended to do so
Are they good in the snow?
You would have to waterproof them yourself. Which makes them hotter and harder to breath in the summer. Tread (when fresh) is great for gripping. Try to avoid shrinkage. ❄
Does that additional sewed on peice of leather make a bump on the inside? I would hate if it rubs on my heel like docs did 😢

If it is a true double layer of leather on top, that is, if you have the complete boot bellow the leather bump , everything is ok! and this boot also has a steel toe cap, I would like to know if it is between the 2 layers of leather or inside, and if the shank is made of wood like the solovair ones and then it can break or is it steel!
