Hi, super good video thanks ! It's maybe a dumb question but i reproduced what you did and the plane is not going down without vnav and not indicating LAND3 so i don't know what to do to perform autoland :/
I have the latest update from PMDG and beneath the ENG 1 Display is says "NO AUTOLAND" in Yellow txt. Why? How do I fix this so I can use the Autoland feature? Thanks
Having two independent autopilots provides redundancy and improves the safety of the Autoland system. If one autopilot were to fail, the other would take over and continue the landing procedure. This redundancy also ensures that the system can operate even if there is a failure in one of the aircraft's other systems. Cheers
Hey, excellent video! I would be grateful if you could clarify a doubt of mine. I was told that Land 3 only comes on aircrafts which have 3 autopilots built-in (fail operational), so how does it come on a 737 which only has 2 autopilots ( A and B )?
Not 3 autopilots but fail operational has additional servo on the rudder to be used for auto rollout. That's given the mcp installed is Collins MCP and the standby installed is ISFD (the ISFD acts as 3rd autopilot).
All you need is to change the Autoland mode of operation from Fail Passive to Fail Operational using your FMC CDU .For more clarification on that watch this video that explains in detail your issue : ua-cam.com/video/ZceDxxEnbtg/v-deo.html
if you see that the G/S pointer is not showing on your PFD you need to start with arming LOC first then as soon as you see the G/S pointer came to view than you can arm APP Mode.
The Autothrottle will automatically disconnect at touchdown whereas the Autopilot needs a manual disconnection. There is no specification on when exactly to disconnect to A/P during ROLLOUT it may refer to the Company policy but you have to disconnect the A/P before exiting the RUNWAY , common sense right?.
It depends if your 737 is fail op or fail passive. A fail op 737 has electrically operated rudder actuators. In other words autopilot can control the rudder in order to maintain the centerline,it is the rollout indication on the FMA. You can leave the Ap until you re about to leave the runway. If you have a fail passive 737 which means no rudder for the autopilot, boeing recommends to disconnect the AP ASAP after touchdown.
@Hk416 thank you for your detailed explanation actually i forgot to mention that i was doing the Autoland in Fail OP option which means that the Autopilot has ROLLOUT control at touchdown unlike the fail passive which has no ROLLOUT available for the landing where we have to disconnect the Autopilot at touchdown.

Straight, clean, excellent. Thank you!
Another to the point, exactly what we needed to review a CAT III autoland on another MSFS airliner. Thanks again for another great video!
Definitely the best video tutorials for the 737. Thx 😄
Should prob put ALL of the details in... HGS runway length/slope on pedestal?
when do u disingange the vnav or dodesit disigange by its elf on approach mode?
how do you have mcp spd on while your on vnav? im trying to get the “fmc spd” to go away so i can use the mcp spd, but its not letting me
Did you use the speed intervention button?
@@FromStartupToShutdown i pressed speed but it doesnt do anything, and if i press vertical navigation all it does is turn off vnav

why wouldn't you use fmc speed?

Love it, short and simple. just how it should be
Very good, a quick step by step video! Thank you very much.
Why do both computer displays have to be set?

why when i want to arm cmd B, it switches off everytime after a couple of seconds?
That can happen for many reasons , i suggest you to watch this ua-cam.com/play/PLxEf1yYpOcvDk8mYMc2VMURX_3VBKJy0h.html
For some reason i dont get the word “rollout” it only says “flare”. Can someone help please?

@@FromStartupToShutdown thank you!!
Great video. Landing Checklist after Flaps 30 always.
Whenever I’m coming in on the approach, LAND 3 never engages? What do I do?
you need to configure your PMDG MCP to Fail Operational mode watch this video to understand that ua-cam.com/video/Va1l29HYCZ8/v-deo.html
So a CAT 3 autoland will only engage if the visibility is below a certain threshold?
CAT iii is a type of approach that we can conduct when the visibility is very low and it requires an Autoland in order to be accomplished.
@@FromStartupToShutdown yes but I’ve tried to run an autoland in clear visibility conditions and it never engages
broo you did everything but after localizer capture u should set the runway course
Your are completely right , i forgot to set the HDG for missed approach in case , thank you
Will it have auto flare ?
yes
Thanks! You had me chuckle with the little hand animations!
Question: shouldn't you arm LOC before APP?

Great video, How do you control the speed? You don't have n1, or speed turn on
Normally the speed is managed by the FMC , in this example i used the SPD INTV button to control the speed manually.
Great instruction!! Thank you for your time and input
the ils doesn't hook on to me, I can't land
Thanks for the video, appreciate it! Question, with Autoland, at what moment exactly do you disconnect the AP and AT?

I have another question : when i'm about to land, I open the landing gear and it disconnects me from autopilot, is it normal ?
No it's not normal
More detail then videos 3 times the length. Thanks!
Thank you soooo much, I cannot thank you enough ❤
My app mode sometime suddenly off and can't turn on, so it can't autoland. Any solutions? Btw your video is nice❤
It's normal that APP Mode turns off when both LOC and G/S being captured and locked , unless you have other issue
is it out yet?
It's coming soon , it's on Beta testing phase .
Hi ! Great tutorial. How do you know your course and NAV frequency to catch the ILS ? Do you use something out of the game ?
I'm using Navigraph Charts in combination with the free tool for flight planning which is called Simbrief.
Yes..also, if you slam init ref having setup a arrival via fmc-this page will tell you course, ils frequency, and wind..and your vref selected speed.
I follow the tutorial but both ap won’t connect it just changes sides
Do not press the A/P button on the MCP, press the autopilot disconnect button twice which is over the yoke
Cockpit needs a texture upgrade if this for msfs
its not msfs its P3D not fs2020
@@flightstatic4662 this is FSX.
@@Aviator738meh p3d is based off of fsx doesn't really matter, hard to tell the difference
@@flightstatic4662 i know, and you can just look to the runway, runway lights, ground textures and texture quality of the cockpit here in the video

Good video keep up the great work!

Thanks man!
EXCELLENT! 👏

Great tutorial. Subscribed
Awesome, thank you!
Great explanation thank you very much
You are welcome!
Saludos de 🇦🇷👏🏻
well now i dont need to manually land anymore
What mod is this?
PMDG 737..
Great video
superb!!
Daag ! Interesting
TOP TOP TOP ❤❤
you should probably clarify what sim this is.
Doesn't look like msfs
Nobody said it’s msfs
He is making a video about auto land onpmbd aircraf
Microsoft Flight Simulator is mentioned in the video descrption though. So who knows.
@@CMDRRustyDog it’s a FSX
The lighting and textures look too bad to be from msfs, likely fsx or p3dv5.
Not a fan of the arm. I hope that can be turned off.
