Hi! I know this series has already been filmed, but for next time: It is a common misunderstanding that the h2/o2 generator "wastes" one gas if both tanks are not available. In actuality, it isn't that realistic. If you have 100 units of ice, it'll convert to 100 units of either hydrogen OR oxygen (or 50 of each if you have both). Not 100 of both. So there is no harm/waste in not having an oxygen tank. Personally, I like to use ice to make hydrogen then use vents on depressurize to fill oxygen, rather than wasting ice/energy on oxygen unless you're in space or a planet with no atmosphere.
Say what you will about the spiders, but at least they have that southern hospitality . . . they're always bringing gifts when they drop by to visit. Thanks for the video
Because of you announcing you gonna play space engineers a while ago I went through a rabbithole and watched nearly 60 space engineers videos And now i found it to be my favorite game thank you for introducing me to it
Space engineers h2o2 generator technically breaks physics. If you have no oxygen tank, then it instead doubles the hydrogen yeild. And if you have no hydrogen tank, it doubles the oxygen yeild.
@@Rhadamant yeah, I don't blame you.. I had been playing for years and only found out recently about this quirk... Personally, I wish it was an option to up the realism.
Ah,Space Engineers one of my favourites. I like the game but I found it to be lacking in some aspects or tedious in others. For example you can't do much with handheld weapons, you will be instakilled by a turret from far away and there are no human enemies anyway. I am always missing some component or resource and need to go digging. And to make a basic mining ship you need batteries, gyroscope, thrusters, cockpit. There is no good source of power for batteries, because uranium spawns only in space. It's hard to tell if you put enough thrusters, if you load your ship with cargo and try to brake while flying this may overload your battery(only source of power, remember, no generators) and your ship will just fall down and crash. And if you try to fight enemies, their turrets will target your cockpit, quickly destroying it and you will be ejected from the ship. There is nothing to do on planets, there is ground... and trees... you can be periodically attacked by wolves of all things. I had to install mods to add enemy bases and ship spawns. Also the speed limit of 100m/s is annoying, it doesn't feel like you are able to engineer an actual ship other than a block of thrusters with weapons/drills attached. Again speed limit and aerodynamics mods come useful. So you need to learn what the problems with the game are and find mods and ways to work around them to make the game more fun. One cool moment was when an enemy base spawned a few km away from my base, so I set up artillery turrets and flew a remote cotrolled drone with a camera to guide my artillery turrets.
I enjoyed it more than I thought I would but I can also imagine that without mods or multiplayer, there'd quickly be very little to do that would feel like progress and instead become more of a sandbox game with very few consequences. For me that would mean probably not playing anymore out of boredom, even knowing there are mods that could spice things up.
@@Rhadamant it definitely is more of a sandbox game. There are a few scenarios with the base game and some of the dlc's which are decent. But it's definitely the mods that make this game shine - they can add enemy bases and more aggressive ships to give you a lot more consequences. There are some really cool scenarios made by modders too. The most well known is probably escape from mars. I've watched hundreds of hours of people playing the game and it can be different each time. Though they have very different ways of doing, I think both rimworld and space engineers are great frameworks on which to craft a story. SE definitely requires more player-led storytelling though.
Ohhh i understand, so you streamed all 10 hours at once and are breaking it down into episodes! man it must be annoying getting comments about stuff you learnt how to do after XD
I streamed like 13 hours at once and broke it into episodes, I actually say that multiple times throughout the series, have it written in the description, say it in the outro .. but yes, people often ignore the dozens of messages that it is pre-recorded and just tell me what to do anyway like I got some sort of Back to the Future Time Machine or TARDIS

Cool, that's actually very helpful to know, thank you.

I brought you a computer cobbler...and Mrs. Fuzzy Legs has the 3 "Beam" Casserole.
Haha true, they are generous

Ahh you're welcome!
Hey Rad, i hope you end up doing a full serie on Space Engi. Enjoying you going thru the game in the miniseries already. Love the content !
That'll be up to you all in polls going on right now
Always nice to have another Rhadamant video to watch
Hope you enjoyed it!
Looking like a rough Eagle from Space: 1999
Oh I don't know that reference but cool that it matches up!
Thanks for the awesome content and great videos!!
Glad you enjoy it!

Yeah you're the 2nd person to say that in the comments, I had no idea, fun that it works that way though lol

Is that audio delayed only for me or others have same issue ? I think last vod had it too
Yes, it'll get fixed a little next episode
Impressive
Thanks

Ok, video links are censored. I uploaded the artillery video on my channel if anyone wants to see it.
Thanks for your ... randomness =]
to be fair there are insect that are born pregnant. Don't ask me how many type of bugs that have this talent.
Okey dokey
Hey Rhad, I'm enjoying the miniseries! I'm curious, what were your thoughts on Space Engineers? How much did you enjoy the game?

so I know that you dont have any DL's or mods, but does that mean you dont have access to build planner?
No I have access I just don't find it particularly useful until I have a full assembler
