i really like the parallel between the end of episode 1 with nick all smiley and hopeful while charlie is worried about him, and the end of the season with charlie being the one all smiley and hopeful while nick is the one who's worried. i think it's such a reality check for both of them.
Season 2 was Charlie being there for Nick when he started coming out so that he doesn't have the same experience, season 3 will be Nick being there for Charlie so that he can move on from what happened and truly be happy
fun fact, the song used at the end “ur so pretty” is will gao’s song (the actor who plays tao)!!! him and his sister make music, they’re called wasia project! anyways I thought it was really cool that they included one of his songs in the show
The Finale (with the boys talking on the floor) is a SACRED moment! It was handled with real tenderness and delicacy. Dont know how much of their conversation here was written or improvised. The kiss on the forehead caught me off guard. So beautiful.
Kit Connor is an absolutely phenomenal actor. I can't wait to see where his career goes. His performance in that last scene broke me. Everyone else is good too, but Kit in on another level and he was only 18 as well. Crazy.
I don't know, I think the Isaac storyline was really well done. Like I think it's a really good example of why season 2 would be a good rewatch. At first it appears he's maybe jealous of his friends for all having some pairings while mayyyyybe having a thing for another boy. But the reveal he's asexual brings it all into focus. He was jealous cause he felt something was wrong with him for NOT being interested in that. Then the quiet moments like right after he asks Charlie how he knew he liked Nick. You'll notice Isaac look at this other boy but then look sad afterward. The clues about his true storyline were always there, we were using the wrong framing just like his friends.
nah, even with the context/foreshadowing i still wouldn’t say it was really well done. i’m glad they showed it and that they gave him some spotlight, but it definitely felt rushed. his outburst after his friends kept egging him on to get with james just never got addressed afterwards, that felt incredibly out of place
@@FrNSICsthey are doing at least another season, so we’ll probably see more of Isaac talking to his friends next season and addressing how their assumptions can hurt him sometimes. He’s just at the beginning of his journey, his storyline is far from over, so I don’t think it makes sense to say it was rushed because some things weren’t resolved.
As someone who’s always kinda questioned if I’m ace, I caught on RIGHT away. Being surrounded by ppl kissing and getting uncomfortable because 1. you don’t really get it and 2. because you feel pressured to find someone to do the same with but don’t really want to is SO relatable.
This finale is one of the best I've seen in any show. Kit and, most notably, Joe stepped up their game this season and created the most poignant last minutes of a show I've watched in a long time. The delicacy in which it was done is a testament to all involved, especially Alice's writing. Then there's the relationships of Tao & Elle, Tara & Darcy, Isaac's self-discovery, Imogen's awakening (we think). Not to be outdone was Ms. Sigh, Nathan and Yousef being more than just allies. This season literally topped its predecessor and no doubt season 3 will excel beyond this one. Good news is, Alice has been working on the script already and season 3 may start filming as soon as October, at least that's the latest news; one can hope. So much to say but I don't want to write a book, so I'll leave it there and, as always, a great reaction Joe. Well done.
Agree. I think Tao had the best character arc this season. He's now one of my favs! Amazing that this is Joe Locke's first acting gig. He is just getting better and better.
i love this season so much!! in this episode I keep repeating four moments: when charlie jumps into nicks arms after he comes out on instagram, when nick asks charlie if he wants something to eat when they are hanging balloons, when nick and tao have their conversation about charlie and tao's dad, and from when nick and charlie go into nicks room after the prom up until the end of the episode. so so so good!! yeah, heartstopper was joe locke's first acting job so it makes sense that he has improved so much from season 1. i think his acting was really good considering the fact that he had never acted before. but the final moments during the conversation between nick and charlie on the floor, kit did SUCH a good job with his emotions and the way he spoke to charlie and how he chose his words and how he touched him gently... it was all perfection!!
If they're going to continue following the comics for season 3, then no, he doesn't send it. There's an iconic moment related to this that I really hope they keep. It was one of my favorite moments reading it. The scene in the bedroom at the end is probably my favorite moment from this season. Just incredible how it worked its way down from just a casual conversation in the bedroom down to this extremely close up highly charged intimate moment. If Kit and Joe can keep up this level of emotional acting then, knowing where the story goes from the comics, it's going to be devastating.
they handled that final scene with Nick & Charlie with such care and thought, so happy it translated onto screen so well. (heartstopper is an adaptation of graphic novels since you were confused)
The moment Charlie enters the room dressed in his prom suit, the first thing that came to my mind was the 11th Doctor's quote "bow ties are cool" and Charlie wearing one, they most certainly are cool on him.
Nick and Charlies final scene had me ugly crying. When it wasnt in the earlier eps like the comics i thought they werent going to include it so it took me by suprise. Kit and Joe are such good actors 💙💛 The fact heartstopper was Joes first ever acting audition and job is so incredible, watching him keep inprobing is so inspirational and obviously Kit is amazing and never fails to portray a story to its fullest ❤️

the i love you is definitely better in the graphic novels so i was actually screaming at charlie not to send that so we can have a better version of it hahahaha

I feel like Imogen looking at Sahar may be a red herring. I think she may just be struggling with her poor love life and is in awe of the confident Sahar. Imogen has taken so many knock backs and was drifting between friend groups. I think her emotions are all about platonic friendship and not bisexuality
idk if I'm reading too much into it or like making stuff up but I swear this season Charlie never wore short sleeves like even when they played rugby he was the only one wearing a sweater and when they were in Paris even though its summer he's wearing sweaters and long sleeves or shirts over t-shirts like idk if its been hinting at it all season or idk
There was one time when he was at the park, which honestly surprised me. I don’t expect to see him in short sleeves again for reasons that will be explored more later. I mean the pieces are there now, but the puzzle will be put together more fully later on.
Little bit of behind the scenes info - the very last song heard in Season 2 in this episode was produced by the Wasia Project, with two members, Will Gao who plays Tao, and his sister Olivia. Will doesn't sing, but plays the piano in that song which you can clearly hear. Will's sister Olivia is the one you hear singing. Beautiful isn't it? Will and his sister are very talented. Song is called "Ur So Pretty".
this season was so powerful and so emotional i cryed in nearly every episodes its was so beautiful to watch and the cast and the writers and everyone who was in this and music its was perfect and u can feel the connection and feel there pain as well its perfect and i love it u can see how much he love char and care for him and i love it and i do agree with u nick is boyfriend that char need in his life that will stand up for him and just be there for him its was so beautiful to see this and kit and joe who played {nick & char} need to get warded for this its so beautiful scene .
The fact that Nick didn’t have one big coming out scene but several comings-out of varying size is absolutely realistic. And next we’ll have him coming out to his extended family during the summer vacation in Menorca, and then to his classmates who weren’t at prom when they start school again in the fall, and then it will be his other extended family at Christmas, and then it will be his college friends, and so on and so on, ad infinitum. And the “I’m bi, actually” is also frustratingly realistic. I’ve stopped saying it, because nobody cares. They’ll make assumptions about you based on who you’re with, and there’s so little you can do to control the messaging that you’ll go crazy if you try. At this point, I feel like the only people who need to know my exact sexuality are the people who need to know my sexual history, i.e. my doctor and my current or future partner.
True. It’s sad, but Nick’s shoulders are broad, and Charlie needed a rest…. I ache for them both. I’ve been them both, at different times in my life, and sometimes it’s just imperative to shift the burden. Sometimes that’s the only way through.

Is hearstopper production separated from other shows?.. like netflix is one of those who barely pay for writers and actors... or whole production has contracts based of laws in UK? Like I really wish for writers and actors and supporting actors get more fair wages.
I'm not sure about union rules and/or contracts, so don't @ me, but Heartstopper is produced by see saw films FOR Netflix. Plus it's based out of the UK, and the whole cast is British, so idk if it is a stuck project, or do British contract rules apply to it. However, a S3 is confirmed.
I have a question as an American viewer to people that live in the UK. So is everything in the UK walking distance? Are Charlie and Nick neighbors? I ask because I noticed both Charlie and Nick walk to and from each other’s places, like Nick walking away from Charlie’s house in S1 umbrella scene and Charlie walking away from Nick’s house in the last episode of S2. Do they live near each other? Is it because they’re in the same school district?
As an Irish person (Ik I’m not from the uk) but yes everything is walking distance I think the creater confirmed that they live a 10 minute walk from each other. It’s the same here
Being ace myself, I was really looking forward to Isaac's representation on this. I think they handled it well right up to the scene where the random artist talks about what it means to be ace. I also felt like it was way too convenient and rushed. I would have appreciated it if they had taken a bit more time with it. But either way, asexuality is so underrepresented I still cried my eyes out all throughout this season lol
Yeah, I don’t mind that as a story beat it just felt very rushed having just come from his chat with James / running off from his friends and then straight to that, would’ve been nice if it was paced a little better is all (still a decent story overall though, hope they delve more into it in season 3)
Sucks waiting but yeah they ended it on that because they have season 3 confirmed. Also hopefully not spoilers but potentially spoilers. There is a good chance they are setting that up for a pretty fun scene to start season 3 off with.
Idk Sahar is indeed the extra friend for a while in the comic books too, it takes more time for her to develop, and I'm actually glad that they didn't try to do much here. They just introduced her, there's plenty of time. Meanwhile, there were MANY characters that were already introduced in S1 that needed development, and I think they did a great job at that, while also not losing focus of Charlie and Nick
Me having read the comics: Charlie nooooo don't send the message, don't send, don't send! I can't wait for the third season, the fourth volume was the hardest, the most moving with some very funny and some heartbreaking scenes, especially one that Kit and Olivia will have to shoot and I'm sure with their skill they will make it memorable . Let's get the tissues ready!
Only moments that felt heavy in the season: Isaac and the Ace art piece (deus ex machina anyone?), Ben's suddenly text barrage, And Darcy's mom (only caricature in the piece... even David had a bit of depth with his dad)
Issac was at Elle's queer art exhibit. Of course there'd be an asexual artists there and he'd be drawn to that piece. That's the beauty of art, even when you don't get it, you will connect with it.
I agree! That was the perfect environment for the pieces to come together. Perhaps the timing was a bit convenient, but I think the scenario was utterly believable.
I feel like they could have fixed this feeling too convenient just by showing Issac walking around not connecting with other pieces and then being drawn to that one
Dude it was a queer art exhibit in a big city of course there would be an ace artist. It’s just blinders, and you’re not alone there, that’s why they hung such a lantern it. Understand I’m not accusing you of anything everyone else doesn’t do too, buts it’s why representation is important. Also yes Charlie has been weird about food since season one. How much did he need to play with the cereal he let get soggy to more clearly telegraph that? All in all I’ve enjoyed your reaction but I had to poke a little fun.
I thought the Heartstopper season was good, my guess is that Charlie sent the message where episode 8 ended, I'm waiting for season 3 which will be in 2024, I read that the puzzle would come in the summer of 2024
The next season will be all about anorexia problem mixed with the i love u.But there will be another minor lovely problem and a huge problem.S3 might be less nick and Charlie and more side characters tho

Is hearstopper production separated from other shows?.. like netflix is one of those who barely pay for writers and actors... or whole production has contracts based of laws in UK? Like I really wish for writers and actors and supporting actors get more fair wages.

I'm not sure about union rules and/or contracts, so don't @ me, but Heartstopper is produced by see saw films FOR Netflix. Plus it's based out of the UK, and the whole cast is British, so idk if it is a stuck project, or do British contract rules apply to it. However, a S3 is confirmed.

I have a question as an American viewer to people that live in the UK. So is everything in the UK walking distance? Are Charlie and Nick neighbors? I ask because I noticed both Charlie and Nick walk to and from each other’s places, like Nick walking away from Charlie’s house in S1 umbrella scene and Charlie walking away from Nick’s house in the last episode of S2. Do they live near each other? Is it because they’re in the same school district?
As an Irish person (Ik I’m not from the uk) but yes everything is walking distance I think the creater confirmed that they live a 10 minute walk from each other. It’s the same here
Being ace myself, I was really looking forward to Isaac's representation on this. I think they handled it well right up to the scene where the random artist talks about what it means to be ace. I also felt like it was way too convenient and rushed. I would have appreciated it if they had taken a bit more time with it. But either way, asexuality is so underrepresented I still cried my eyes out all throughout this season lol
Yeah, I don’t mind that as a story beat it just felt very rushed having just come from his chat with James / running off from his friends and then straight to that, would’ve been nice if it was paced a little better is all (still a decent story overall though, hope they delve more into it in season 3)

Idk Sahar is indeed the extra friend for a while in the comic books too, it takes more time for her to develop, and I'm actually glad that they didn't try to do much here. They just introduced her, there's plenty of time. Meanwhile, there were MANY characters that were already introduced in S1 that needed development, and I think they did a great job at that, while also not losing focus of Charlie and Nick
Me having read the comics: Charlie nooooo don't send the message, don't send, don't send! I can't wait for the third season, the fourth volume was the hardest, the most moving with some very funny and some heartbreaking scenes, especially one that Kit and Olivia will have to shoot and I'm sure with their skill they will make it memorable . Let's get the tissues ready!

Only moments that felt heavy in the season: Isaac and the Ace art piece (deus ex machina anyone?), Ben's suddenly text barrage, And Darcy's mom (only caricature in the piece... even David had a bit of depth with his dad)

Issac was at Elle's queer art exhibit. Of course there'd be an asexual artists there and he'd be drawn to that piece. That's the beauty of art, even when you don't get it, you will connect with it.
I agree! That was the perfect environment for the pieces to come together. Perhaps the timing was a bit convenient, but I think the scenario was utterly believable.
I feel like they could have fixed this feeling too convenient just by showing Issac walking around not connecting with other pieces and then being drawn to that one

I wouldn't say Joe was weak on Season 1. His kindness and hesitation were lovely. But yes this season his acting was really great.

Dude it was a queer art exhibit in a big city of course there would be an ace artist. It’s just blinders, and you’re not alone there, that’s why they hung such a lantern it. Understand I’m not accusing you of anything everyone else doesn’t do too, buts it’s why representation is important.
Also yes Charlie has been weird about food since season one. How much did he need to play with the cereal he let get soggy to more clearly telegraph that?

I thought the Heartstopper season was good, my guess is that Charlie sent the message where episode 8 ended, I'm waiting for season 3 which will be in 2024, I read that the puzzle would come in the summer of 2024
