Oh My Goodness! That big red roo is the most beautiful ever! His feathers are SO shiny! WOW! He’s really amazing…..tell him he needs to calm down so he can have some beautiful babies someday! The other roo in with him is beautiful too! All the babies are grown! Makes me want chickens even more but I’m not trusting of roo’s! LOL! I love your names for them! Great video Lolly! ❤❤❤
Hey Debi! 😃 You are right, he's absolutely beautiful! I had to get rid of one just as pretty last year. The red ones are just firecrackers! It makes me sad that they are not more gentle because they are walking ornaments all year round.😥 Also, these are the ones (eggs) I worked so tirelessly to save and they are my babies!🥴 Chicken life can be rough! Anyway all the babies are grown and I love the new hens and can't wait to see their eggs.🥳 Lolly❤️

Guess what I did after I said I couldn't take on any more animals right now...I got me some chickens...so I'm officially a chicken mama lol! 🤦♀️ It started with a rescue chicken about 3 weeks ago and of course she had to have some company so I got two more from a friend! The rescue one is the sweetest thing ever and I'm a sucker for any animal that needs help! 🥺 We've named her Zelda! Have a wonderful weekend! I love that you rescued that sweet little girl and chickens are super social so you did right to get her some siblings!🥰 Chickens are so docile for the most part and just a joy to watch. I hope you truly enjoy them since I know you are already busy with other animals. Pigeon has not met Honey-Belle yet! I am going to see how it goes soon. Can you imagine if they became friends. Someone who speaks the same language and looks so similar haha! Lolly❤️

I do have a question about roosting bars... How big are yours for your chickens? Should their feet be flat on the bar or should they curl over the bar?
Great question! Absolute best scenario is flat surface that does not have anything that will splinter their little feet and that is wide enough to keep their feet flat. Millions of chickens around the world curl their toes around bars but flat is more comfortable and when it's cold, their feet are completely covered under their warm bodies that way instead of in the cold air wrapped around the bar.
