what substrate do you use in the emerged plants?

before some1 told me that you can't planted the plant if on the stem there's still have some leaf.. you need to cut down all the leaf on the stem then you start planted it.. if not it will rot inside the soil and the stem will rot aswell..

Mas mau tnyakk dan konsultasi , aku kan punya aquarium uk 60cm + lampu s600 subtratnya bakteri , rumah , pukdas , pasmal halus (no.2) trus tak bkin bibit carpeed seed dan tumbuh carpeed seednya gak maksimal sma skalii apa bisa tak tanaman langsung / di tutup sma monte carlonya yg udah daun air tnpa harus membongkar semua subtranya dan gak pakek c02 jga , apa bisa mas tumbuh smpurna monte carlonya kalo tanpa bongkar semuanya ??

What I'm afraid of with plants like the Rotala Walichi is if algae gets on those plants, it is impossible to clean them.

In my personaly experience, (if healthy) walichi seems to be a fast and strong enough grower to combat it. You might get a little bit on the lower leaves, but when the conditions are met to grow it, its growing multiple leaf nodes a day. Even when my first high tech tank got taken over by algae, it was one of the only plants that was not overtaken. I would suggest mastering balancing tanks before getting into really crazy species
