Alright, Jaron, I was expecting you to analyze Tamela when she was on Terrell's blue wall BUT I will definitely take this! Your analysis was on point as usual. 😃 I felt like she embodied different artists ie Crystal Meadows, the late Rance Allen, The Williams Brothers, at different times in the song. She did a phenomenal job!

I love Tamala's singing, the guys singing in the background and the orchestra that was playing. This is how black people do music as far as I'm concerned. This is the only way to do it and there is no other race of people on earth that can do music like us no matter how hard they try. Thanks Jaron for bringing this to my attention, I loved the performance, it was all of that and then some.

Brother, I am from Australia and African American Gospel Music is in my blood and soul. I was fortunate to travel to New York in 2006 and witness my idol, Patti Labelle live in Brooklyn. I just cried when she walked out on stage. Your amazing experience and knowing music and vocal control has made me become a better singer in my own lane. What you did at the end of this analysis, teared me up because God is good, Jesus hit your soul and spirit and stirred it up to appreciate the amazing vocal of Miss Tamela Mann. This type of singing helps me remember it’s gone be ok
This entire song brought back memories of some of the greatest Quartets of Gospel music thanks to Tamela's vocal prowess and the background harmonies (i.e. Jackson Southernaires, Williams Brothers, Chritianaires, and even the often overlooked "Cedric And The Haley Singers" when KC and JoJo of Jodeci were young boys in one if the greatest gospel secrets to this day).

It definitely seems she was/is working on performance aspects ex. the movements, stage presence, growls, style of music, etc. I caught some glimpses of "unfamiliarity" (for the lack of a better word) and "mental processing" during this performance. She killed though!!! GO HEAD, TAM!

i just found your station and am in love with it! lemme say: i can't sing, idk bout no particular techniques but, i'm a poet who loves what words say and do, especially in the combination of songs; how a singer emotes the words, to produce a particular feeling and use their body in conjunction, like giving a whole "on stage" theatrical play.

Unfortunately 5 years ago he passed away! The way you critique and flow with where the song roll my cousin was that with me. When you started talking about the song and began to sing. Tears began to flow my cousin had the gift of song and teaching music also.Thank you for sharing your gift I will be attempting to sing this song at my wedding on April16th 2022.
