10:30 Tehbotol = it straightforward means Bottled Tea, its one of the most famous bottled tea brand in Indonesia. The one you drink has the word "Tawar" on the label, which means "no sugar". Theres another one with different label at 9:40 on the bottom right which is the sweet version. Idk how British people take their tea, but that brand you drink there is pretty thick in flavor. So its quite surprising that you think you barely taste anything. 😅

Nasi uduk is a savory rice cooked in coconut oil and various spices is a staple food in the capital. This mix of white rice, coconut milk, salt, as well as ground lemongrass, bay leaves, and kaffir or lime leaves has a way of whetting one's appetite from the first bite. The combination gave nasi uduk a fluffy yet firm texture that does not stick. Nasi uduk makes a winning pair with side dishes like fried chicken, sliced omelet, beef floss, and tempeh stir fried with sweet soy sauce. This combination of flavors and textures make nasi uduk a choice meal for breakfast or brunch, as well as lunch or dinner. Like other iconic foods, nasi uduk have a long history. Its origins can be traced to other parts of Indonesia, and even the rest of Southeast Asia.

The song at minute 26:18 is entitled "Separuh Nafas", a song by one of the legendary Indonesian bands, Dewa 19 you can hear their good songs on UA-cam or Spotify, and I am one of their fans, called Baladewa

Your trip to Indonesia is really exciting😎, I hope your UA-cam channel is successful and continues to grow and can always provide cultural education about your travels in every country you visit👏🏻👍🏻. Oh yes, while you are in Jakarta, come to TMII (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah) there you can see all the culture from every region in Indonesia and don't forget to come to the Old City of Jakarta. If I may, I suggest you come at night there because the atmosphere is very exciting once😊
He is a street musician, not a gang member; he seeks money or tips for each of his songs. We, the locals, usually give him 5,000 or 10,000 rupiahs, or sometimes 2,000, if his singing is good. So, for tourists, giving him 100,000 may seem small, considering the exchange rate. The difference between dollars and rupiahs makes it not an issue whether to give him money or not. Thank you for visiting Indonesia. Typically, Indonesians are always pleased to see foreigners visiting the country, so there's a friendly atmosphere with many Indonesians greeting each other warmly.

Rp 100.000 is big money even for tourists in Britain. In pounds is just over £5. Usually we give street singer just £1. I think Jason is very generous person and kind. I wish him a very good luck and happiness.
the song sung by the street singer is entitled "SEPARUH NAFASKU" (HALF OF MY BREATH) and the song is very famous, the owner of the song is the legendary band from Indonesia, namely DEWA 19
You just missed the ultimate sweet dessert of Indonesia (arguably the best sweet dessert in the world!) at 12:58! It's called Martabak Manis, you should try it while you're here. Salam...
Jason.. you have to find a friend to accompany you to tell you about Indonesia.. and don't forget to prepare small change.. for buskers and beggars.. always use your right hand brother.. salute to you..
Regarding street musicians, they are not from a gang, but some are heads of households whose profession is like that, so there is nothing wrong if you give them money to help them live, by the way the money you just gave is very large and I am surprised but feel happy too, thank you Jason for your kindness🙏🙏

A little tips: always prepare bunch of 2k in your pocket if you going to the local food stall like that cause there are many street performer storming the area especially at at night, or maybe just try a simple sorry with hand gesture 🙏 and they probably will go away 😅 anyway, welcome to Indonesia 😁
A man who sings while playing a guitar is called a busker. He entertained people who were relaxing by hoping to give him sincere tips to support himself. He's not a gang member. You don't have to tip him if he doesn't sing specifically for you. But if you want to give him a tip (sincerely), that's better for him. In general we really appreciate foreigners visiting our country. You don't need to worry
It's such a wonderful food hunting there. Keep it up Jason, if you are consistent in exploring anything in Indonesia, your channel will soon be noticed and have a large number of viewers and subscribers. Happy to see your journey
Don't be afraid Jason. Asia is the most non-violent continent i've seen. North and South Amerika, and parts of Europe are way more dangerous. In Indonesia i'm not affraid getting robbed on the streets, not even in the kampong (poor neighbourhood). Be carefull with using Indonesian ice, sometimes it gives me problems but not always. I remember 30 years ago this problem was worst. Eat outside the shopping malls, it's way tastier. The guitar guys ain't no gang lol, as you maybe already found out, they make a job out of everything ;-)
22:46 got me laughing 😂 Thanks for vlogging in Jakarta, been missing the food! anyway you should have tried more traditional street food, I saw bakso malang (soupy fried meatballs), martabak (indonesian thick crepe), ayam penyet (squashed chicken) etc. Cheers from Indonesian living in manchester!
Jason, you're doing great mate, I've watched almost every single one of your travel vlogs, loved the places, the humor, the reviews. Keep up the good work! Looking forward for more.
Teh botol is Indonesian famous tea. Usually it’s sweet but you grab the unsweetened one hehe. Well, the ice is ok for us, for you guys, maybe a cause of diarrhea, (had friends from hongkong, who definitely had diarrhea every time they eat/drink on street vendors. But they usually all right, after staying here for several days😂) Ok, you just scooped half of sambal (spicy sauce) into your mouth lol. And bro, you just took every foreign street food in one day lol I mean dimsum (Chinese), takoyaki (Japan), crepe (France/Japan), steak and burger (US) in one night lol. Not even one Indonesian street food lol oh ok nasi uduk, silver queen and teh botol count 1 lah. Lot of people in comments already recommend a lot of food hehe, if you still in Indonesia, do try it.
10:45 you bought an unsweetened Teh Botol 😂 "Tawar" means unsweetened.. you should try the Original one. 19:00 I think "Martabak manis" is way more 'indonesian' than crepes... 🤔 23:30 it's alpukat kocok, the letter 'C' in most of indonesian words pronounced like the C in 'Cherry' not 'Coconut' 28:55 If you enjoy his sing, you can tip him. BUT one hundred thousand rupiah is too much.. people usually tip around 2000-10000 rupiah with his singing skills.. but well that doesn't matter, as long as your heart sincere ^^
Jakarta is very large, the Jakarta area is divided into 5. central, north, east, west, south, and you have only explored a small part of the city of Jakarta such as central and southern. you haven't tried exploring the north, east and west regions 😊 Jakarta is the country's capital. Many Indonesians live in Jakarta, so you will meet various types of ethnic groups and different languages. because in Indonesia there are 714 tribes and more than 1100 languages. so if you live for a long time in Indonesia. You will feel the beauty of Indonesia compared to other countries. Have fun and be happy always jason 😊
Menu in the second snack place says "chicken" (and has all the details about what is inside each, the difference was the sauce). Jason : "I think this is pork" 😆 I noticed you usually don't read their menus, even when they are in English. Is it to increase the surprise factor ?
Di indonesia makanan babi dijual ditempat tempat tertentu.. Karna mayoritas indonesia ber'agama islam ... Dan tidak mungkin jajanan daging babi dijual ditempat umum... Makanan dinsum isinya daging ayam

So, for tourists, giving him 100,000 may seem small, considering the exchange rate. The difference between dollars and rupiahs makes it not an issue whether to give him money or not. Thank you for visiting Indonesia. Typically, Indonesians are always pleased to see foreigners visiting the country, so there's a friendly atmosphere with many Indonesians greeting each other warmly.
thanks for the info 👍🏼

When you leave me
You're my goddess
Come back to me
Take half my breath
You're my goddess
Am I wrong if I'm not like that?
Me first?
thanks Bro for the generous tip, he is lucky and probably he need that much for the day. i used to a street musician back in the 90's.
Rp 100.000 is big money even for tourists in Britain. In pounds is just over £5. Usually we give street singer just £1. I think Jason is very generous person and kind. I wish him a very good luck and happiness.
I really like and enjoy your journey in this video, success always and I hope Indonesia is memorable in your heart ❤️🇮🇩
Entah kenapa ini konten yang tidak membosankan
You are so good in vloging, very funny. Welcome to friendly city of Jakarta.

First time i watch your video, and i like it.
Thanks and welcome
Jakarta is more beautiful at night, like beautiful cities abroad, hopefully one day I can go to Jakarta 😊
The street food across big malls are usually for people who works in the mall, cheaper lunch vs buying lunch from inside the mall.
the song sung by the street singer is entitled "SEPARUH NAFASKU" (HALF OF MY BREATH) and the song is very famous, the owner of the song is the legendary band from Indonesia, namely DEWA 19
You just missed the ultimate sweet dessert of Indonesia (arguably the best sweet dessert in the world!) at 12:58! It's called Martabak Manis, you should try it while you're here. Salam...

Regarding street musicians, they are not from a gang, but some are heads of households whose profession is like that, so there is nothing wrong if you give them money to help them live, by the way the money you just gave is very large and I am surprised but feel happy too, thank you Jason for your kindness🙏🙏

Teh botol have 2 taste : you picked Teh Botol with written "TAWAR" it is means "NO SUGAR" and the other Teh Botol product is with SWEET TASTE...
You better ask before you take it.
Try Martabak Manis or Martabak Bangka, more thick than the thin one called Crepes.
no sugar is healthier right 👍🏼👍🏼

A little tips: always prepare bunch of 2k in your pocket if you going to the local food stall like that cause there are many street performer storming the area especially at at night, or maybe just try a simple sorry with hand gesture 🙏 and they probably will go away 😅 anyway, welcome to Indonesia 😁
Thanks bro 🙏
Benar
A man who sings while playing a guitar is called a busker. He entertained people who were relaxing by hoping to give him sincere tips to support himself. He's not a gang member. You don't have to tip him if he doesn't sing specifically for you. But if you want to give him a tip (sincerely), that's better for him. In general we really appreciate foreigners visiting our country. You don't need to worry
Thanks bro 🙏
@@Jason-Travel 100k for a tip is way too much, based on my opinion,5k will be just fine
@@miugila8965 You are right, just 5k to 10k. If he sings for you but you feel annoyed, you just give him a tip and thank him, he will leave
this is so fun to watch! i didn't expect will sit for 37 minutes watching a vlog of someone exploring street food
Kamu baik hati terima kasih sudah memberi pengamen
Thank you for your visit to Indonesia.
May God always bless , protect you on all your journeys and more success

Thank you for coming to Indonesia, Jakarta, and for tasting typical Indonesian food😊
But they usually all right, after staying here for several days😂)
Ok, you just scooped half of sambal (spicy sauce) into your mouth lol.
23:30 it's alpukat kocok, the letter 'C' in most of indonesian words pronounced like the C in 'Cherry' not 'Coconut'
28:55 If you enjoy his sing, you can tip him. BUT one hundred thousand rupiah is too much.. people usually tip around 2000-10000 rupiah with his singing skills.. but well that doesn't matter, as long as your heart sincere ^^
Martabak is more to pancake with bit of crispy cz they push the dough to the edge of pan to create the crispy
You are such a kind person bro Thanks for visited Jakarta
My pleasure 😊
Thank You for your visit 🎉, You can go to Borobudur temple another time, the place is beautiful ❤
Trima kasih bang jason sudah brkunjung di jakarta indonesia, sukses bang❤
Teh botol (Tawar)
No sugar broo 😄
😂😂
Menu in the second snack place says "chicken" (and has all the details about what is inside each, the difference was the sauce). Jason : "I think this is pork" 😆
I noticed you usually don't read their menus, even when they are in English. Is it to increase the surprise factor ?
Haha probably I was thinking about camera angles 😂
Di indonesia makanan babi dijual ditempat tempat tertentu.. Karna mayoritas indonesia ber'agama islam ... Dan tidak mungkin jajanan daging babi dijual ditempat umum... Makanan dinsum isinya daging ayam
So its quite surprising that you think you barely taste anything@@Jason-Travel
Di Indonesia, makanan babi di tempat tertentu atau di tempat tersembunyi
😊😊🙏
Anda terlalu baik mr... 100.000 untuk pengamen jalanan... Semoga berkah... Selamat bersenang2 di negara ini...❤❤❤
