    16" T-Bar and chain dropped in a hole makes a good anchoring point too. Nice work, good vid

    awesome job thumbs up from Lake George, NY * I sunk my machine on the river out front of my house one yr...got it out the next day but left it on the ice as the fresh snow fall made it impossible for my quad to drag it home....well the machine froze solid... track an gear box... two neighbor kids saw it out there on the ice an took their machine with a child's plastic down hill sled and put my machines track in the plastic sled and pulled it to my house no problem... gotta love great friends an neighbors !!!

    Thank you so much for showing this. I know the more I go out I will have to do this so it is nice to be prepared to save myself. Good work.

    I've done this in Alaska. got stuck in little creek in the mountains had to chip ice with just a flat head screw driver. I was lucky to have that. There is an old 1970's alaska vid out there shows how to build a mound in over flow put the sled on it and next morning no jack hammer work and u can use the track as a winch put rope on track and it pulls its self out works great and new sled have revers so it ez to get rope out. cool vid .P.s if u ride lakes alot use mustang survival suits theyhave buoyancy and saved my life 2 times at -20 fell through the ice alone suit made me pop out never getting wet another time was a class 3 rapid in the winter in the middle of nowere alaska i fell in the river swam in the winter got out wrmed my hands and brushed the ice off and road for 8 more hours . my friend fell in the water the same day 15mins from parkinglot and almost died he was wearing CARHART i swam 8 hours before he went in never had a problem MUSTANG SUITS WILLSAVE U WHEN U NEED THEM THE DEAD CANT GIVE BAD REVIEWS

    I didn't think you're supposed to tow using the front bumper?

    Just dug my sled out of slush. 5 guys, 3 hours and out of breath. Wish I had the patience and confidence you did. I thought for sure it would have frozen solid and be lost if it was left overnight

    Noticed the tunnel on the polaris has a massive split in it! Surprised it stayed together. Did the ice expand and crack it?

  • @bearbait2221
    @bearbait2221 Рік тому +1

    Holy smokes that crack in the tunnel @11:13 never seen a Polaris broke there or cracked that bad? how many miles on that beast?

    • @ShutUpAndFishCanada
      @ShutUpAndFishCanada  Рік тому

      Well you can't say that anymore lol. 3000 miles on it

      @@ShutUpAndFishCanada Do you jump that touring or is the riders 300+LBS? I am puzzled on how at 3000 miles its broke so bad? Have you jacket it out of the ice a lot? I could see the hi lift jacks could do that if its frozen in.

    • @ShutUpAndFishCanada
      @ShutUpAndFishCanada  Рік тому

      @Bear Bait lol I'm definitely not 300 lbs and this thing isn't fast enough for jumps it's just a 340cc.

      @@ShutUpAndFishCanada LOL may be ur fat cousin rode it when you weren't looking :0 jk
      I guess the 340s have thin tunnels. Good vid on ice bound recovery.

    I have not run a sled for 20 years now. I think I was lucky my dad was a motorhead and every single sled in our house was pushing near 100 hp back in the late 90's. Slush, pin it, do a trackie. What am I saying though, I don't even have one now.

    Might not been the most environment friendly solution but pouring a gallon of plumbing anti-freeze in the puddle while you organize the rescue mission might slow the ice petrifaction process.

    • @ShutUpAndFishCanada
      @ShutUpAndFishCanada  2 роки тому

      Yeah that might have helped but definitely not good for the lake lol

    When it was free why would you not put a sleigh or crazy carpet under it and tow it to your truck or trailer ?? Way faster to get it to heat. Less work

    • @ShutUpAndFishCanada
      @ShutUpAndFishCanada  3 роки тому +1

      Its true! We had a crazy carpet with us just in case but the whole process went a lot quicker than we expected so we still had a lot of energy and decided to challenge ourselves by having the machine drive itself out!

    2 kerosene heaters. A tent. And it would of been so much easier.

    Better put that camera down and help your buddy or he might turn it on you.
