Bro, of course if we live in a perfect world where money isn't an issue then r6ii is the best option now. But when we come back to reality, can you really justify around 1400$ different between perfect condition pre-owned r6 for 1200$ and new r6ii for 2600$. I don't really think so. Because for 1400$ you can buy a bunch of lenses, or extra camera like r8 completely new with a good discount for example, or canon Eos r. You can buy so many things for such a big amount of money. I had the possibility to buy a new r6 ii, honestly. But when I saw in the same store pre-owned r6 for less than half of the price I didn't even hesitate, I took r6, extra batteries, cards, lenses and still had some money left in my budget.
This is where I'm at right now - looking at used R6's. For me, the mk2 doesn't seem to offer any compelling upgrades. I'm currently on a 6D so the change to an R6 would be major anyway.
Same here, coming from an RP, huge upgrade and.. I don't shoot video. UA-camrs are biased for wanting cover features that most of us don't care to have. If there's no overheating without doing 4k video 60fps, no problemo. IBIS, crazy dynamic range compared to RP, dual cards, way faster FPS and electronic shutter option is a lot to get in return.
I'm a touring photographer/ videographer with this camera and I definitely have overheating issues. Even though I'm shooting relatively shorter clips compared to just pressing record in the style video you are doing here, I run into issues ALL the time! It's actually super disappointing and causes unnecessary stress.. I've always been a Canon guy, but have thought about switching brands because I can't find a great alternative in the Canon world that doesn't have that issue on the mirrorless side. I can't believe this problem still hasn't been fixed after all of this time. It's Canon's biggest downfall. Like you said, the perks of the camera doesn't matter if you can't use it.
As a daily user of the CanonR6 I run into the same issue. The video quality is great, ibis is great, awesome in low light, but the overheating issues are crippling and not being able to be confident in your gear is a pain. Shooting in 4k I never hit the 30min record limit b/c it’ll overheat before then and this is a $2,000 camera.
Try to use fallowing things: (1) If you do a interview, adjust focus on auto, then switch the auto off to a manual mode, (2) close the LCD display. You will notice the huge difference as the camera is performing all the way without any problems and overheating.
At the end of last year i was looking for an upgrade for my 5d Mark II which i started camera photography with at the end of 2022. I am only using it for photo and I was mainly looking for a camera that would allow me to use auto ISO. I was looking at 5D Mark IVs for a while but then I randomly came across a professional photo store that offered the R6 with 1 year extended warranty for 1000 euro. I am still very much a beginner, so I was deliberating for over a month if i should get it or not, but in the end I did and oh boy I love this thing for photogragphy. Maybe its the gigantic difference compared to the 5D Mark II but this camera is doing literally freeing me up so much creatively because of all the heavy lifting it does in the background. Truly wonderful camera for photography and i am pretty sure i will never have to upgrade again as a hobbiest.
I have a silly question: I'm planning to buy a second-hand camera body, and I can't decide between the R6 Mark 1 or the R8. Both are priced the same in the marketplace. I focus more on photography for my travels, but I also use it occasionally for shooting video clips. I know r8 doesn't have ibis for 3rd party lens this will be problem. What should I pick?

I understand your video is 4months old. Here's the dilemma, in my country the mark ii aprx EUR 2000 cashback incl. And the classic R6 is on sale until this friday at less than EUR 1000. So it's more than half the price!! I am tempted!
Canon uses still outdated frontlit CMOS sensors. SPAD or x1000 more sensitive graphene enhanced CMOS sensor with metalens would be far more greater improvement essentially making expensive, heavy, bulky and limited zoom full frame camera's obsolete.
I’m usually an every other iteration user.. I do the same with iPhones. I don’t always need the latest and greatest. I’ll probably wait for the R6 mk III to come out.

Where r u getting a used r6 for $1200? I have been seeing the for around $1600

I'd absolutely love it if you would add the focal lengths to your scenes like the one in 0:26

I vote for R6, i own one and its wonderful.
The problems for me in this camera are overheating and limits with connecting video monitors.
hello, can you explain the limits with monitor that you experienced ?

good an interesting video. thanks for your work :)
the problem is, in europe r6 mk 2 is almost 2x the price of r6 on sale... so r6 is still great for its price
yes
I'm using the Ninja V to record to in order to get passed the recording limit/over heating for long-form content.
what are the best video settings for the r6?
Hii! I have recently purchased r10, can do I need 120fps for slo mo shots if yes then what should i do?
just set it to 120fps mode if you have it and go.
what did you use to record this video?
I've found the rolling shutter to be extremely distracting.

The file size is very low only 4mb any settings to increase image size
shoot raw instead of jpeg and go with full frame canon raw images

I'm actually using uhs-i v30 cards for photos and they are plenty fast.
i wish if i had the opportunity to buy this one...........

20mp vs 24mp is very negligible.
