I'm on my medical elective in Saint Lucia! Having a great time here meeting the local people and enjoying the Island. Healthcare here is very different to the UK.
It was about £800 for flights and then accommodation was $1200 (£900) for 2 months. Then had to pay 100 Euros each week to the hospital for tuition (700 euros). I had chicken pox for the first week so saved 100 euros on tuition. I basically budgeted max £3500 for the whole trip. I got a small bursary from my university towards elective and got another small bursary specifically for it too. You can apply for these.
