Anyway that’s actually really serious and worrying. I didn’t feel Corona virus was so close to us until I got tested. You can say, "At least better than the average consumer" as well. The 'your' part is part of a set expression. For example, "He's smarter than your average dog" 'Your' in this case doesn't imply possession/ownership, it just fits the expression better and is used to emphasise that something is better than average. "He's smarter than your average student" = "He's more intelligent than what you would expect".
