I know winter is closing in but it would be nice to see more nature focused videos like the ones you made earlier =) I really enjoy your story telling and narration.
Thank you very much! I'll be making more like that!
Mike your the man !! Your sticks are works of art everything you do is an inspiration !!
Ive been looking for a quick way to make my sticks round thanks
Thanks wondered how you go so specific. Tell Pearl to keep the boogars away.
Nicely done & great technique Mike! Hope that you & Pearl are doing well! 👍👍
Thank you, Steve! We are doing great.
Nice to watch pearl helping
I couldn't do it without her, haha!
Yeah Pearl is a real gem I love watching her too =) Such a good girl.
Solid math and geometry for reproducible basics so that one can spend more time on the details.
Magnifique bravo a vous et caresses a Pearl !!
It seems sort of counter-intuitive, Mike, that you sometimes have to cut corners to get one of your artistic creations started off properly. 😅
Haha! That's a good one, Noah!

Great idea thanks for the tip I will have to try it out on a project coming up. Looks like your saving te cedar scraps for something. Keep up the great videos
Thank you Kenny! I'm glad to share some tips with fellow carvers. I try to save all my scraps. I may make something out of them someday. Or if I can't make something out of them, I'll turn them into firewood.
Interesting Mike. That's the same idea woodturners use to create a sphere, just modified to be linear. Take care.
Bill
When you done next project Mike? We are waiting?
Thank you so much for teaching how to do these you make and produce beautiful realistic art. I also like how you remind me of Marty Stouffard and Wild America 🙌❤ I like how you have respect for all the wild life. I was once afraid of snakes then I ended up with 11 ball pythons and a reticulated python. They're not evil or horrible things, they're just miss understood. Thank you, Mike. I might have to make a custom request walking stick or make one of my first ball pythons her name was Rosie she was nice and sweet and never was mean.
You're very welcome! And thank you very much! I do appreciate it!
Hola amigo que bueno soy uno de los primeros en ver tu video gracias por mostrar todo tu trabajo genial
You're very welcome Jonathan! Thank you for watching!
Hey Mike, followed you for a few years now on my other account. Love your work (and pearl obviously) I set this one up to share my wildlife footage.
Would you like to do a kingfisher walking stick or even a wood sculpture of one on it's hunting perch like in my Rags to Fishes video in the 2nd half?
I think kingfishers have an eye for the aesthetic too, from the places they pick to hunt from.
I haven't gotten around to using those wild rose stems yet, but I've been busy as you can see.
Take it easy. Much respect from the UK.
I think a King Fisher would be a great subject! I watched your video, and you capture some great clips! It's great that you anticipated that he would dive, and zoomed out just in time to capture it, and he flew back to his perch with his catch! Great job!
@@StinnettSticks Thank you so much mate, means a lot that :)
HEY👋MIKE, So should we expect a future video of a snake walking stick? 😄
Great stuff my friend!! God Bless you and yours Mike 🕊 🕊Jay🕊
Haha! Yep, I'm working on another rattlesnake stick. I'm not sure if I will be making a video of it or not. Thank you, and God bless you too Jay!
Good evening Mr Stinnett Sticks - Brazil 👋👋👋🐶
*Mike, another great video... thank you for today's lesson... looking forward to your next video.*
I never tire of watching your videos Mike! They always make me smile!!! 😁
I just drag it behind my truck down a gravel road lol . Good stuff Mike thanks .
Hahaha! That works too!
Very clever , I was out on our old farm other day and was checking out old fence post along the field. I found a few that only had 3 staples in them , took them home to work with . Nice and dry and aged cedar post .
Always a joy to watch
Thank you very much!
👍👍👍👍👍💟✌
Thanks for sharing. Nice to see Pearl making a brief appearance again too.
how much do you charge for a walking stick. i was injured by a drunk driver and my back is shot. but i’m to young for a cane. but i was thinking about a walking stick.
Great to see ya again...as always!!!! Thanks for the video, there great!! May GOD bless you and yours always! Strength and honor!
Thank you my friend! May God bless you, too!
How would you go about making a cane with a crook and a derby rest like they have on the self defense canes? Is there a way to do it out of 1 solid piece?
I just ordered your book, carving a walking stick that’s the goal. Thanks for all your inspiration!
Thank you, Jay! I know you will enjoy making your own walking stick!
Love your work! Keep it up 👍🏽
Thanks Good Buddy!
You are a master!
This is so helpful, thank you for passing along your wisdom! In some of your other videos I see you doing the smaller carvings inside an enclosed booth with window and light, is that something that you made yourself?
square is also round... just in very low resolution ;)
Thats too cool, do you get 4x4 from a lumbar yard or fence store
I like it 😍
Great idea Mike! It could be difficult to find a perfect wood in the wild. Using this way no wrong surprise ! 😁
👏👏👏👏👏👍
Hello Mike !!!! Your friend from Arkansas ! Iv never seen a electric plane !!!! I'm going to have to get one !!!! Hug Pearl for me my friend ! Till next time !!!!! 😊 👍
Hi, Kurt! They are a real handy tool to have. See you on the next one my friend!
Thanks so much Mike....your amazing. 👍
You're welcome, and thank you too!
A Mike could you tell me what gauge , type or brand wire you use on your binding post wood burner ? I have a Burn Master Hawk & I use the Razertip binding post pen .
I'm not sure what gauge the wires are Ken, but the wires I'm using now are .9mm. You could use a pretty large wire diameter with the Burnmaster unit, but I'm not sure how much heat the BPH pen can handle. The original wires that came with Razertip snake scales and the BPH pen were in my opinion too small at .7mm. (They bend too easy.) Razertip is now making scale tips with the heavier wire. I'm pretty sure you can get the heavier wired tips from Treeline. There is a link in the description.
Very nice! Your work is great 👍!
Thank you Mike!
Where is the lovely pearl ?
You have to watch real close, but she does make an appearance, haha!
Is this eastern or western cedar.
Western
sorry Mike I forgot to hit the like button
Oh thank you Mike…..take care
What a clever idea to turn a square post into a round one!!! Cedar sure does smell good, too. I need to start paying more attention to videos; I have a feeling I am missing some, and I sure don't want to do that. I never want to miss any video you put out. I hope you are staying well, carving and fishing and keeping Pearl out of trouble :-) I'm starting to get back into trouble now that it has been awhile since my sweet kitty (14 years old; her health failed abruptly) got called over the bridge. I plan to do a sketch of her--I miss her terribly. I hate to tell you what she would have done to any of your snake sticks....or maybe just wood anything. She had the sharpest claws of any kitty I ever had, and thought snakes were mortal enemies. Yours would have stood still long enough for her to, erm, harm your masterful carving. (Pearl *might* have startled her. I think they would have been friends once thy stopped trying to terrify each other.) I plan to get your book next month, and I can't wait!!! You take care, Mike, and God bless you and keep you safe.
It's good to hear from you, Jean! Yes, I enjoy working with cedar because of the scent of it. It carves nice too. I'm sorry you lost your kitty. Pets become a part of the family, and are missed when they go. I hope you enjoy the book, and that the info will be helpful to you! Take care, and God bless you too! See you on the next one!
